8 players got qualifying offers (I left the big club's players on the chart for comparison purposes) ... Boeser, Brock RW VAN $832,500 Boucher, Reid LW VAN $725,000 Goldobin, Nikolay LW VAN $832,500 Leivo, Josh LW VAN $925,000 Motte, Tyler RW, LW, C VAN $832,500 Perron, Francis LW VAN $650,000 Rafferty, Brogan D VAN $832,500 Teves, Josh D VAN $832,500 -
Sorry. - wrong info $ 725,000 is the offer. See: Boeser, Brock RW VAN $832,500 Boucher, Reid LW VAN $725,000 Goldobin, Nikolay LW VAN $832,500 Leivo, Josh LW VAN $925,000 Motte, Tyler RW, LW, C VAN $832,500 Perron, Francis LW VAN $650,000 Rafferty, Brogan D VAN $832,500 Teves, Josh D VAN $832,500

105% of $725,000

Indeed he did get a qualifying offer, so Benning must see something in him
-
Not qualified. I wonder if we will try to bring him back cheaper
-
Well, you got the first part of your wish !!

Unless we are close, and Tampa thinks 2020 will be a better draft class than 2021, in which case they may throw the game to help us over the top and thus get the 2020 pick
-
If he is even 1/2 as good as the other "professor" we drafted in the 214 slot 34 years ago he will have a long career with us
-
Only if they wanted to dance. If we miss the playoffs next year, the 2020 pick is ours, the 2021 pick is Tampa's. We can offer to swap picks (either pre or post lottery), but Tampa can refuse. They would likely assess the probability of the next years pick being lower or higher than 2020's and make their decision accordingly

Ah - I see he is listed as one of the Development Camp attendees, starting today at UBC

If Goldy could learn to shoot an inch lower a 3rd of the time he'd have what, 9 more goals? Didn't he hit the crossbar 27 times (or something like that) He has 2 things in his favour..... He might be that final bargaining chip in in the much discussed Edmonton trade that brings PoolParty to us He might help in enticing Tram back, and might ease Pod's transition to the NA environment in a couple of years So, yes, qualify him and keep him on the roster as injury insurance to one of our top 6

Gardiner doesn't solve our RHD problem though, so would that entail QH moving to the right side? With Edler maybe?

We can only have mid- late pick in year 2 under 1 scenario If Vancouver's pick in 2020 is 17th or later, then it belongs to Tampa, cos it means we have made the playoffs. If we miss the 2020 playoffs, we keep that pick, and it will be a lottery pick, Tampa then gets our 2nd year pick (which may be a mid to late pick, if we make the playoffs, or may be a lottery pick, if we don't make the playoffs). So the only scenario that gets us a mid-late pick (and only is valid for 2021) is for us to make the playoffs both years (and I would be delighted with that!)

What a depressing table that final one is - 3 successes and 2 maybes !!

The only gripe I have with the (conditional) 1st round pick being lost is that it takes the offer sheet (for $4,228 million or more) out of our arsenal. The first round pick must be 2020 and has to be indigenous, can't be one that we acquire, and can't be encumbered (can't be used twice) The only saving grace is that if it is indeed a 2020 pick that TBL gets, it will be a 17th or later.

He needs a sponsorship from Harley-Davidson

Or maybe JB is complacent: Edler - Tanev Hughes - Schenn Hutton - Stecher Juolevi Biega
-
JB going to outbid everyone for Tyler Myers?
-
Another College player drafted - Aidan McDonough One pick left (215)

2 things impress me today: 1) how quickly Elite Prospects update their database (I googled Jack Malone as soon as I saw the name come up, was linked to eliteprospects, and already they had Vancouver drafting him) and 2) how quickly posters here get the player up in the prospects page Well done

Jack Malone. - Cornell University Reminds me of Greg Adams - if he turns out 1/2 as good as Gus, then he will be a gem
-
Good genes - father was a hockey player too (same name)
