  1. And yet are a top 5 D-pairing 5 v 5 since becoming partners last season Go figure Edit: (And Myers is 6'8")
  2. Why such a negative spin? I interpreted his comments as "So what? Fans do fan things, hockey players do hockey player things" I guess it depends if you view the glass half empty or half full. It's not the first time a player has been in a slump - heck, Petey was on the ice last game for 3 goals against and the 3 Russians have done diddly squat so far this season, but no shade being thrown there. But now that LE has gone, then Dicky, CDC needs a whipping boy. JT with the hattie tonight
  3. I guess D have more experience in shooting from the point, but they seem to hit the net more often the forwards shooting from the hash marks. Rathbone and OEL seem always to get their shot to the net. Burroughs too
  4. The reverse of my Golf Club's slogan ... "We never fail to disappoint" (or it seems like that most days - whatever happened to Member Service?)
  5. Interesting analysis. Conventional wisdom would suggest that O-zone faceoff wins lead to more shots, and that D-zone wins help prevent shots. And what role would be played by faceoff wins after an icing, where the objective isn't a shot on goal, but a dump in to facilitate a line change? I have always thought that faceoff wins data was an underappreciated stat. Your analysis certainly suggests that the Canucks should be better, being that they are (were) one of the better faceoff teams
  6. How so? 10 points in 9 games is over .500 4-3-2 is over .500 I get that we'd have won 4 and lost 5, but the point for a regulation tie is part of the calculus What am I missing? (I still wish we'd go to the IIHF 3-2-1 system (3 points for a reg win, 1 point each for a reg tie with a second point for the OT winner) where every match is worth the same number of points, not some worth 3 and others just 2
  7. I'd rather see Juulsen get a long look with the bigs - a stretch of 10 games or so.
  8. I always believed the Irish added the "e" whiskey (with an 'e') refers to grain spirits distilled in Ireland and the United States. Whisky (with no 'e') refers to Scottish, Canadian, or Japanese grain spirits.
