  1. Worth more than Miller over the long term? I just don't see that. 8 years, for sure, but at $6.75 for $54M is fair imo. But hard for Bo to swallow that given Barzal's signing
  2. Garrett had a great analysis.. BB didn't want to ice his expected NHL squad in Edmonton, as we open the season there next week. Why give them practice against our full lineup, especially as they have last change. Next game in Abbotsford we'll see our expected squad vs Edmonton but we'll have last change
  3. Speculating on a couple of lines I'd like to see ..... Pearson-Lazar-Podkolzin Hoglander-Aman-Karlsson Also would like to see a Rathbone-Juulsen D-pairing. They had a couple of games as partners at the tail end of last season and jelled nicely
  4. I want to see how Juulsen handles the 2 big boys, SO I hope he plays - I have thought since we acquired him that he had more to show. But I was wrong about Rafferty. ... I saw most of his games in his Utica season, and thought he was a lock for promotion, but he languished in the taxi squad. Couldn't crack the Ducks roster, nor the Kraken, so I am guessing I am just a hopeless judge of talent. Fingers crossed for Juulsen, though. (and Karlsson - always got to root for my boy!!)
  5. I'm not sure that last year's 3-2-1 record in the first 6 games (all away games) qualifies as a "flat start", but I guess that's the mantra being repeated as justification for the changes that were made, so I'll play along For sure, the Canadian Division Covid year start of 2 - 4 qualifies as flat. But the previous year (2019-20) we were 4-2 after 6 games, outshooting opponents 22 - 14. Nothing flat about that. But isn't revisionist history great!!! (c.f. perspective: we were 2-3-1 and 2-2-2 for the 2 years we won the Presidents Cup - now that's kinda "flat out of the gate")
  6. DeKeyser isn't going to be offered a contract. If Poolman stays healthy, he plays. Rathbone stays. I also think BB will discontinue his OEL/QH experiment. He'll put Poolman with QH and reunite OEL & Myers. He does like Burroughs though.
  7. Wily vets don't bust a gut in exhibition games. They work on little things - timing, positioning, faceoffs, etc etc. Not point in getting injured throwing an ill-timed hit or getting a knee blown out in pre season
  8. Naw - that's not it. We are just upset at the lack of commitment, lack of effort and, yes, lack of skill being displayed
  9. Are the faceoff stats available yet? I don't remember the Canucks winning one. Maybe that's part of the problem - we aren't starting shifts with possession
