  1. @The Lock.. again, the fact I was stating was the emboldened underlined.. the part about NHL players continuing to play after being convicted. That’s it. Someone previously , the person I was in conversation with mentioned Virtannen. I just said what I knew. Your over blowing this. the fact is. There have been players who have continued to play the game who have been criminally convicted. it had Nothing to do with JV. but more about the allegations vs convictions of Evander Kane ( this thread) (Virtannen has not even been in court for this yet has he?) Im not taking sides in mentioning “the fact” (the above underlined), only making that statement. If you’re going to get involved with previous conversations between others, it might be best to get the ground work of its entirety, and read all of the conversations previously, they may have gone on for days. you have taken me totally out of context in a conversation I have had with another poster. Find your own clarity on the matter.. or just don’t engage. quite frankly, your wasting my time,, and I think I’ve obliged you enough.
  2. @The Lock (underlined / bonded). Separate , you can’t compare. In the Canucks situation with Virtannen, the Canucks did a private investigation on the player. Those findings are private and rightfully so. Management decided to act an option of buying out Virtannen without reason, and made the decision to part ways with the player. Virtannen has 50k left to be paid by the Canucks this season, and 500k to collect next season. In Kanes case.. I’ve seen a bar fight, we all know how those are explained, and exaggerated . . blame game. I’ve seen fights where some women come out of now where and start fighting within a fight. Usually they get hurt and look to blame some one else for how they engaged in situations themselves. im just speaking from my own experiences as a younger man. There are more to stories than what we get to truly know without being there. As far as sexual assaults , I can not comment.. and quite frankly in this day and age, if you have money, or , are some kind of profile athlete, it’s easy to draw the wrong attention from the wrong person. Lots of people have M.O’s (motives of operandi) and intentions of disruption behind them. Im not saying Kane didn’t get himself into trouble as a younger man, but he needed to be mentored better to realize where poor decisions could bring poor outcomes. So as most posters seem to want to ban Kane from playing hockey , They should realize there have been convicted criminals allowed to continue playing this game.. Maybe fans should come up with a “standard” of limits clause , and tell the NHL to get the NHLPA to sign it. ?? Historically, Integrity does not win a Cup.. and quite frankly dosent matter.
  3. You misinterpreted Lock, The “fact” is in my quote previous to that: The “fact” is : “ Historically the NHL has players who have continued to play the game after being convicted as criminals “. Do you understand?
  4. There’s an underlying element that came out in the San Jose press,. So , for arguments case,. I’ll call it rumour . Apparently Hertyl was specifically the one who went to management to complain about Kane ,. Although Kane was trying to keep his personal affairs ( bad marriage) private,. Hertyl apparently claimed it, and allegations surrounding Kane were upsetting the dressing room. In fact Kane had been performing Hertyl, and Hertyl was going into his UFA year, hoping to negotiate an term related 8m figure contract. How was Hertyl going to get 8m when Kane was out performing him at 7m ? .. and where was that money going to come from? This season, Hertyl signed his extension.. 8.175m x 8years starting the 22-23 season.… some things make you go hmmm? Lol I genuinely think Kane is a good person, I like to think every one is.. Life,. And some poor decisions can upset that. Kane has been away from home since he was 15 years old,. Then drafted high, playing in Atlanta as an 18-19 year old, no time in the minors. .. and no mentors there, or Winnipeg, or Buffalo. Its easy to be led astray in your early 20’s. Im not making excuses, I just try to look at the whole picture in situations like his, try to understand an underlying cause .. it could be any body.. Are we not all guilty of temptation at some point in our lives? .. sometimes it’s a challenge, .. sometimes opening a door that is harder to close. sometimes we forget how young these players actually are, and the expectations are enormous. I hope he continues to play strong.. and I hope things are finally settling in his personal life.
  5. I’m not saying I condone it,. Im stating a fact. .. there is a difference. Kanes “issues” are minuscule compared to others in the league. The “end of the world” mentality around this player is ridiculous. .. now someone trying to get me to explain How OJ Simpson would compare ?!? Freak show. Hes got 2 - 3 more good years ahead of him,. I wish him the best. That’s exactly how I felt about this. Most others have a “choir boy” mentality. They want to see young roses red cheeked boys , nicely combed hair, putting on the clothes their mothers put out in the morning. “keep that sort of controversy as far away from our young players as possible ”
  6. Wow! A whole page where we aren’t talking about Miller getting traded ( in the Miller trade Thread) . Seems like some of you are coming back down to Earth ,. Welcome back !
  7. Separate , you can’t compare. In the Canucks situation with Virtannen, the Canucks did a private investigation on the player. Those findings are private and rightfully so. 8. That’s the thing Alf, right now they are operating as though they have. If it’s found “wrongful” , I think the Sharks should be hit by the league.. but, the league did come out and say they supported what the Sharks were doing before anything was proven. it’s a mess.
  9. NHLPA filed a grievance in Jan. I beleive the NHL found no evidence / grounds for the Sharks to terminate Kanes contract. Right now the Sharks are operating as though they’ve cleared capspace,. Something I think ever team should question.
  10. I’m pretty sure he will be paid out full for his contract with the Sharks,. Possibly damages as well.
  11. F off . We can all find extra examples to try and make there opinion qualify with substance.. Did E Kane go to court for murder? I find your straw man comparison outrageous and maligning.. which is what a lot of the rhetoric is around this player. It keeps getting bigger and bigger by comparison. nice one. Your a Winner.
  12. Boeser and Rathbone for Debrusk and Carlo i think that helps both teams out.
  13. Ever have an unstable wife ? Which is also in the Coursts right now, His wife is being mentally assess in there Divorce Case. . that’s why Kane has soul custody of his child. .. it’s probably the equivalent to a masochistic , narcissistic, abusive husband. Kane has stood in court to defend himself on all of those cases you have mentioned , and cleared or proven NOT guilty. If anything else is going on personally, that’s all it is. Personal. too many people self absorbed in the personal lives of others.. that’s where the waste is. Some take it so far to accuse others of things that did not happen.…. That exists also.
  14. Talk to the Wild , get him back home.. Let discussions between the Wild and Boeser take place about a contract. If they can come to an agreement, I think the Wild and Vancouver would try to work out a package. I don’t think Brock’s dad is doing to well, could have a lot to do with where his head is, or wants to be. edit: the Wilds 1st round pick is still available next year. (26th)
  15. Funny how it’s a team game and your all over this players back. im not trying to make excuses for what ever your problem is. But if it’s about this one player,. He is our best, usually night in and out. Ill leave you with your problems.
  16. Like I said.. dealing with a player/ players like Motte allows you to sign a player like Miller. Same goes with a player / players like Boeser,. Playing far under his 7.5 QO .. moving players like Boeser also allow you to sign a player like Miller. Dealing with the fodder, allows you to keep what is familiar to your club and worth it monetarily. There are a lot of teams with their 8m + players locked up.. and a lot of teams not willing to throw away the future they have spent a lot of time creating either.
  17. 5 assists last night.. 62 on the season.. he puts the puck where it needs to go to get the job done. The way he plays every night,. The exhaustion he plays to , looking for the right time to line change. . Who dosent make mistakes? All the good one do.. They all break their sticks, slam the doors and chirp at the ref.. Anyone can hen peck a good player,. That’s what your doing. Easy, hen pecked complaints won’t distract from what this player brings. Look who we were missing last night, look what he accomplished,. With a rookie, and a player some think should be retired. He brings the best out of this team, because this team has given him the opportunity to be his best.. he quoted that. That affirmation, not many players understand. he does.
  18. Don’t forget Agent, in this cap era, there are not many teams that can offer huge money on a player who is unproven on their team.. chemistry is everything. LE might be a prime example of a UFA signing like that. … and having said that, some players may not want to move feeling their opportunities will drastically change,. Maybe that’s where the thinking gets more palatable. Money is one thing,. But the uncertainty of your proven game with your existing team, might throw some balance in all negotiations. Damn I hope Bruce is back.
  19. I’m sure this management group will offer what they think is good value for this player. There are more than 2 people making this decision now, unlike the past. The fact is, teams pay good money for good players. Constantly on these boards,. Horvat home town discount, Boeser home town discount,. Petey, Hughes, Just about every player we draft we expect a “home town” discount for because of “Fan Love”. That hinders a team.. you get staked with 5-6m contracts that players decline within, and because they are ‘home town’ players, no body wants to move them because they gave us a great deal. it’s not how you manage and keep your best players,. It’s how you deal with the ones getting lesser ice time, and assets they bring. Motte leaving is part of that process,. Same with Hamonic, that “attrition” allows for other players to get their chances. Sometimes finding them like Dermott, or pulling up like Lockwood. What ever the case, I’m sure the money that this management group offers will be correct. Its the terms of the contract that will make a player and management feeling stronger and more at ease with their decision.. and more likely , flexibility.
  20. Easy to realize we both feel the same about this player.. some say “declining”. . . well, it’s hard not to agree, everyone does,. But a “decline” from a 100 point season won’t be as hard on us as the fear mongers think Its what this player brings to his Team that is more valuable, he is finally giving the Canucks their identity,. And it’s going to rub off on all of those players you have mentioned and a few more. If they all play like him, this team is going to a good one for a very long time. If we lose him, there is no one , I repeat, no one on this roster that will bring what he does, leading by example, that’s when everyone has each other’s back and plays as selfless as him.
  21. E Kane for 2.5 m. To replace Pearson. (Kane should be getting full money from the Sharks, he’s just looking for his happy place)
  22. I’d hate to see Garland go ,. I think Boeser and the Clib are going t go through arbitration, and then trade.. or the club will allow him to talk to other teams after the regular season.
  23. it’s all about opportunities, this is a selfless player with the true meaning of Team in his stride. It was Vancouver who gave him this opportunity to bring out his best, he looks very comfortable here, not being surrounded by egos and big names, He left that behind in Tampa. Here his own growth is paired with his Team and the young players surrounding him. Millers comments , “I try to feel like I'm never satisfied,” Miller said when asked about eclipsing 90 points. “I've gotten an amazing opportunity since I've been here. I get to play in every situation, which is something I've worked for my whole career. But that being said, it doesn't really mean sh-- to me if we don't play in the playoffs. It's great, but I'm not in this for the personal gain. “Like I tell you guys, when I'm playing well, points come and when that happens, we win more games. I really just want to play in the playoffs because when you score in the playoffs, that's what really means a lot.”
