  1. Have to admit, although we might struggle in a physical contest,. Put us against any team for 7 and we could run long and deep.
  2. Stick with this Timra .. remember, practice, practice, practice..
  3. You’ll have better luck playing “Wack a Mole” in your dreams, than pushing those big city ideas Timra !
  4. 2 more comin up quick .. Caps are pooped .. going to take penalties
  5. Wasn’t meant to be microscopic.. It’s the bigger picture I was trying to portray thus the teams that continue on that list.
  6. I don’t think the cap has accommodated that kind of salary anymore. I mean I do understand those contracts are out there, but it’s a difficult stretch, especially When your middle group are worthy of a fair raise themselves for the game they play. Its all a juggle.. and let’s face it.. Covid, and two shorter seasons over the past couple of years , has not helped anything . Canucks will have options, we don’t have a 9-10-11m player on the books.. and we do have other assets that should be moving. I see Chaisson as a depth guy for a playoff team, Dickenson was showing better before injury.. Boeser is a fair question, perhaps even Bo. We have 3-4 goalies behind Demko that could bring an NHL ready D prospect back, just because Goaltending in the league is a bit thin on some teams that should be contending.. Toronto, Edmonton, and others. Martin , Silvos, Koskenvuo.. I’d rather move Depietro before the other 3. Our next camp might be the best we’ve seen with prospects we have.. and given what’s going on in the world, and with a possible KHL collapse.. most of our prospects in Europe might be in Abbotsford next season. I just hope to see the fiery leader in Miller, pulling everyone together on the same page. There are some great prospect coming.. just a little patience to next season. Rathbone , Jasek, Utenen, Klimovich, Woo, Zodoyedev, Mcdonaugh, Truscott , Depietro, Plasek, Perrson, Karlsson
  7. This whole thread is speculation.. let’s really be real ..
  8. Give him the freedom to move if he wants to win a cup and it’s not happening here,. That’s what every ounce of his sweat is about. Some contracts handcuff teams and players.. around the 7m number he is still a tradeable asset as the cap rises in 4 years. Thats where the player might do the team the favour of moving for its next Re-tool.
  9. Best teams have the best leaders, scroll through it,. Find a captaincy that that isn’t HIGH end. Miller should be Captain, it’s who our players are drawn to. Perhaps that why Bo is not as engaged in games other than looking for his position slot side / circle on the pp. watch how many hits he passes on in a game Coconuts.. he is consistent at it.. be critical of him. Lamikko back checks better than him now, that’s why U Haul is given the bigger checking assignment lately.
  10. I like what @Me_ has suggested, 8.5mx 5 yr. (42.5m) Id Also think 7m x 6yr (42. m) might work too, leaving the player optional trade lists in yrs 4, 5 & 6 at his request in year 4, the teams and his request in 5 & 6. If he isn’t winning a cup here by then, he should be able to pursue his dream elsewhere. To have JT Miller as a leader or Captain on this Canuck Team for 4 years minimum, will place the right hockey mindset into the younger players he is with, and a go to guy for vets, Coaches and staff alike. He handles every situation well.… and that’s without considering his ppg average getting better, consistent, or worse. Injuries , long or short term occur to anybody, don’t accept that argument in the “declining asset” analytics. 30 is not old lmao! He looks after himself, he wouldn’t play like that if he didn’t.
  11. You’d rather trade down into mediocrity than build around our strengths.. you want to have a house party at the draft with balloons, popping into nothing by the end of the night. Than mortar on your floor putting in a heated tile floor and a new window investing in it. Take your recycling to the depot and get a return, Keep your good scotch for those quiet moments. There are others on this team that will amount to assets . One of Bo or Boeser, will help with that.. not the best leader we’ve seen since Smyl.
  12. Well if they trade Miller, I’ll come back on here to heckle you for the next 6 years, while your waiting for your nhl player ready prospects and draft picks nuts to drop.. and a declining Bo and Boeser become anchors on home friendly contracts that can’t be moved. Lol You play the “sitting on the fence “ opinion pretty good , I have to admit. I see your flip flops..
  13. Who is the D back up if Hughes gets targeted in the playoffs and injured because high physical play? Miller commands the pp.… I know you like tic tac toe passing, but it dosent implement a goal or high scoring opportunity. Martin looked pretty good in a couple of games replacing Demko.. and Silvos is no sleeper either in G. … kind of a redundant statement isn’t that Timra?? Of course somebody will replace anybody if somebody leaves the pp. Even our 2nd pp looks decent. Yes, I appreciate great leadership, emotional, Intelligent, intellectual, physical, leading by example…. Not Stoic in Silence,. that can be baffling by way of Bull $&!# lol.
  14. This is Bennings Team. It seems to be playing very well with a Coaching change. Miller is real. gaining other players, unknown, unknown outcomes, is gambling, like standing at the edge of a cliff with them and telling them to jump, hoping one or 2 can fly 4 or 5 years from now. Another rebuild and im done .. I don’t like re-runs.. it dose not excite me like it does others here.
  15. Every Cup winning Team has or has had a standout player/ leader who is emotionally involved and indentured to his team,. Raising the bar for all his teamates to be the best. Now , before you start romanticizing about the Sedins and how they did it,. Remember this, they didn’t. ..and if we had an entire team full of their leadership and sportsmanship style. We still would not have won a cup. The “hand off” to Bo was an undeserved gift, that’s how I felt about it then, and do now. Im sure in fantasy analytic minds looking into their crystal balls, it was an obvious choice. Hope. Without a leader, this team is toast.. and “choking” it’s way for a potential playoff run for years to come. To have Miller here, now, and hopefully for the next 6-7 years will pay dividends in what ethic he leaves on the ice, game in and game out. To say “declining” about a 28-29 year old elite athlete, is the inclusive fantasy associated with analytics Your not realizing the Energy this one player creates on his team, and how they follow his example. Yes, one player can create the template and legacy,. If the players want to follow him.. and I think the following is obvious. Im hopeful to see Miller in a Canuck Jersey for 5 or more years.. what he brings, that “ go energy “ is what you want running through the veins of your entire team. That isn’t Hope,. It’s actually happening right now, it’s real, it’s not a fluke. Our contention as a Team is awake because of this. Boudreau has called Miller the leader.. I hope both of those men see a Cup here, so do I. The template is on the ice tonight, and been winning against big teams since the new year. Others here are hoping for a fantasy return of draft picks or prospects for Miller, waiting for players nuts to drop over the next 5-6 years in a re-build. We are 2 player positions away from having one of the most complete hockey teams this city has seen.. and I don’t think we need to give up anything we can’t do without, or change this template, with Miller on it, to be it.
  16. Oiler fan spillover …. The lottery is a couch game they love to win.
  17. Your opinion lol.. and your demon-strative appeal .. Moving forward with current structural and succession is what every team does agent. Your willing to tear it apart for mediocre hockey for 5 years, in a rebuild in hopes to get to a point like this team is in right now. You’ll only want to do it again when it gets good in another 5 years. trade for shiny bits of the unknown . The Twilight Zone. I think what your seeing is the other side of the canyon, and not building the bridge to get you there.. The time right now is to build around our strengths, and accelerate. We’re 2 positions from full strength.. and that’s this season. Next season will be a blast regardless, especially after great conversations with Miller have him re-signing here.. which is what Management has stated ( they hope to keep him). . And Boudreau will have a huge say in that,. He is, after all , the man working closest to him, and knows from experience what good leadership brings and builds, in the present, and in the future.
  18. I don’t think that has happened yet Koots ?? I’ve heard rumours..
