  1. I still think we can win this. just need to keep it simple and don’t play overconfident.. that’s the killer on both of those goals.
  2. I think we’ll see it ! Bouds’ is probably letting them miss each other a little bit Be furious skating when we do !
  3. Worth chatting about, wouldn’t have to give up much I would think.. expiring UFA , cheap rental, with a pedigree that could bolster a strong push with us and deeper. https://www.tsn.ca/countdown-to-tradecentre-zdeno-chara-on-the-market-1.1764537
  4. Just a thought, and / or perhaps spitting chicklets over and dropping the mitts The Islanders seem to be struggling to make the playoffs, Z comes in at an easy cap hit, with his contract ending as UFA this season. I don’t think we would have to offer much to acquire his rights,. But his help/ experience if we wanted to make a strong push for the playoffs, and perhaps a bit deeper with his help? Just a thought I think worth discussing.. perhaps not? https://www.tsn.ca/countdown-to-tradecentre-zdeno-chara-on-the-market-1.1764537
  5. Active sticks, and little to no gap on the fore and back check.. hope they can keep this up for 60. we look great !
  6. Silver background for the crest perhaps , blue pinstripe with the green,. especially around the collar
  7. I don’t know if the public angle was ever pursued (ownership).. But personally, I would have put up 100 to 1000 to keep the team under the Griffiths’ . I truly appreciate the Aqualinnis’ stepping up. Just has a far better feel to it all. I think of the Mcaw/Mcammon era as Messier,. And the Gretzky fumble.. appreciate our chat.
  8. I did say “to me” in my quote,. he took over full ownership in 96, and in 97 came up with the Orca Logo, under Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment. personaly, I’m not into foreign ownership of anything. again “to me”, it reminds me of that era.
  9. I wonder if our next back up goalie is developed at the NHL level to produce an amazing asset , knowing we have a better one ready to step up? martin and Silvos might both prove to be great Goalies. better than what the Oilers or Leafs have anyways;)
  10. k, where did I get it wrong? As Vancouver executive Arthur Griffithsoverspent building General Motors Place, where the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and the upcoming NBA expansion Vancouver Grizzlies would play, in March 1995 he associated with Seattle billionaire John McCaw Jr. - then a co-owner of the Seattle Mariners - to form the Northwest Entertainment Group, which would control both teams and the arena.[2] On August 22 the company was rebaptized Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, in homage to the killer whales that roam on the British Columbia coast.[3] In 1996, McCaw assumed full ownership of the company and its assets.[4] Vancouver Canucks logo history started a new era in 1997 when the iconic whale logo was unveiled. The emblem featured a Haida style orca whale with an aggressive expression on its “face.” The creature was breaking out of the I’ve.
  11. Nothing wrong with Myers, he is underrated here,. He works hard physically agains strong players,. I didn’t see Tkchuck being his usual self after Myers knocked him a couple of times. Shutdown D , however they accomplish it, is never appreciated, and intimidation is not a statistic. If you can make a player take a different route or change up to the net than the one he has projected, you have deterred a play that should leave time for support. Myers does that. playing with OEL lately has raised his passing and puck carrying . just let I be ,. This management will change where necessary.
  12. To me , The Orca has always represented that corporation the Yankee brought with him. Although it’s a beauty symbol of this part of the world and our culture,. I’d rather forget Mcaw and Mcammon . If we could keep the black gold red , and place the first stick in the “C” as a crest,. That might be an interesting twist for this era. otherwise, I’m damn proud of the blade. this is desperate lol.. where’s @Toni Zamboni
  13. Martin Silvos Koskenvuo .. we’re lined up pretty good.. maybe a little thick given Demko might give us 5-6 years of high end. im sure Depietro will be a nice sweetener with someone.. Clay Stevenson adds depth to the timeline
  14. I still see Podz as a prospect, as well as Hogz.(developing) yes add Klimo, Linus Karlsson : Aidan Mcdonaugh, Victoria Persson, Joni Jurmo.. there are others.. it’s worth your while to find video on them from within the past year.
  15. Their would be nothing wrong with signing Miller on an 8m x 6 as long as he is tradable in years 4-5-6. As a player he might want to have the best opportunity to win a cup, that gives him that option.. and some how that 4-5 year should be optional to him. Its up to Miller, but we are a better team over the next 3 years with him than without. If he signs for less than 8m, the more movement protection should be given.. seriously, listen to him after last nights game , he could be a great Coach one day, perhaps we groom him to that strength and opportunity too. right now I am enjoying the growth of others with him, his leadership is rubbing off, he is himself enjoying it, it’s noteable. other players can make concessions too, are Bo and Brock really worth that much more than what they are paid now ? Term and movability need to come not those contracts too.. and others. Perhaps no one considered above average on this team needs to move.. I still hold firm on the thought of a tough skillful physical D man and one hard to play against power forward, an upgrade on Pearson, perhaps the return of Tryamkin, today the rubble is almost worthless.. and he gets paid in that. An upgrade at 2 positions could hold us stronger. We have prospects coming that might seriously impact this club next year.. let’s not pull triggers right now, let’s just enjoy what Benning left us this season and assess in the Summer.
  16. Hard for a GM not to back his Coach,. Captain went down with his ship.
  17. You can sense the freedom players have to be themselves, in their play, and how they articulate themselves in post game interviews. Listening to Miller, right after the game, and in post.. they’re relaxed , confident, have each other’s back. This has been built from Bruce Boudreaus arrival,. He has brought the fun, with hard work and determination. Stay on track boys! Bringing this city back to life is a task in itself, but your doing it.! you’re already champs when you know and respect the history here. ps. Love the belt! The Leafs still have pyramid power !! Lol.
  18. .. have to admit though, we looked fast and the real effort was closing the gap quickly. We came up with a lot of pucks because we initiated close contact. Once our boys seemed to crack Markstrom, they looked deflated, and they did take lazy or desperate penalties because we kept moving. We avoided a lot of hits (taken) , but we’re timely and clean on our own. Hope they keep to the level they played last night. Call it a frequency, but everyone was on the e same page last night.…. and of course , we had a God in net I look forward to the return of Burroughs, and so happy to see Hamonic with another solid performance . Myers and OEL are easily worth the weight they move many nights, and Myers is getting so much smarter with the puck playing with him. Hughes is huge. Schenn is gold brick.
  19. Miller, might make a damn good Coach in the future, sees it like it is, tells it like it is. So glad to have him here.
  20. Players must love playing for this Coach,. says if he keeps getting games like that , not only would want to keep wearing the Blade if they do,. He’ll wear it to bed !
