Perhaps the strength and symmetry with the Black Jersey was the fact we were seen and felt as the “underdog” team.… .. and again, tonight, and for the rest of this season that word should be used often. Im hopeful to see that effort in being the underdog , resonate through that same jersey again. Look to the rafters. #12 is alive and well in your building, make him proud. Rip it up boys

I posted that the night Boudreau Lined up Motte Lamikko Highmore as the first line. Horvat Boeser Dickenson went over the board 4th. pretty sure that rotation stuck for the entire game. I did state “ our 4th line tonight “.

I’m with Bruce Boudreau on this one, unless it’s a trade involving McDavid, he’s not interested. -

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
SilentSam replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Amid trade rumours, Canucks believe JT Miller could still fit into team's future Iain MacIntyre@imacSportsnetFebruary 23, 2022, 7:50 PM VANCOUVER — Patrik Allvin is no pyromaniac. As the J.T. Miller trade-rumour inferno rages in various NHL markets, Allvin is nearer than almost anyone to the blaze. And the Vancouver Canucks general manager is holding a fire hose turned on full. Allvin said Wednesday that not only is there no urgency to auction off the team’s leading scorer before the March 21 trade deadline, the new GM sees Miller as a player the Canucks, ideally, should try to keep. The 28-year-old is under contract another season after this one at a bargain $5.25-million salary and isn’t eligible for unrestricted free agency until 2023. No wonder Allvin and Canucks president Jim Rutherford are in no hurry to trade their best forward. Physical, fast, skilled and versatile, Miller is the kind of elite player teams build around. “Absolutely,” Allvin said. “We can control most of our players (contracts), except for Tyler Motte. In that regard, there is no rush at all. Regarding J.T. -- I've said it before -- I've been impressed with the way he plays, the way he cares. And I think he's been probably, since I've been here, the most consistent player. “I think that's probably something we're planning as a staff, to sit down together this summer and see which guys are going into the last year of their deals. We want to see where they are, their mindset and what they want to do and if there is a fit here.” One of the factors driving conjecture about Miller, besides a formidable and versatile skillset that has him on pace for a career-best season after 53 points in Vancouver’s first 50 games, is his age. The American turns 29 in March, will be 30 when his contract expires, and may be too old during his next deal to align with the evolution of a Canucks team built on a foundation of players now in their early- to mid-20s. But Allvin believes Miller could still fit the team’s future. “I hope so,” he said. “With his mindset and his drive, I hope he has another level to reach, too. I think he's probably matured a lot over the last couple of years, and I hope he knows how to take care of his body and you hope he can still find another level.” -
[Rumour] Canucks interested in Pavel Zacha
SilentSam replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I still like the possibility of acquiring Zacha. -
I think he’s realizing his lines abilities to score,. If he is letting off on that “F1” hit at times, it’s because he knows his F2 is on the outlet pass to create a better opportunity for them to extract and control the puck. I think he is timing his hits better in this way,. And if that saves his body from an injury, I’m good with that. When he is out of the line up, the lines totally unbalance.

(Discussion) Bruce Calls it out! Our Decade long Issue.
SilentSam replied to SilentSam's topic in Canucks Talk
What I was implying is Bo had 68 games in the NHL his first season, 5 in the AHL. 8 years in the NHL is enough time show what you are about, above and beyond who you play with. you make yourself. What in the world is Motte Lamikko and Highmore doing? They are driving their own opportunity. split them up and they play the same. Ive just not seen that consistent ethic from Bo, yes flashes over 8 years, but never could he be categorized as a type of player to change a game.. or initiate a turnaround. Bo is Bo and we can probably check off the box. Perhaps he is overrated here, I’m not sure really. Torts did say the Team is “Stale” .. and at that time went on to agree to comments of “comfort level”. Change was needed. you are correct about playing with L E , it probably took ambition away, and motivation. But should it have? It seems something has taken this player from ever reaching overdrive, and rarely do we get to see a downshift and that aggressive drive. But that is on HIM as a player.. and especially as a Captain. Smyl was relentless at it. As it is for Motte Lamikko Highmore and many others who are smashing it out. EP has recently fought through it,. We saw his frustration and emotion , it’s what helps you find your game, your drive. You use it as an on switch. Some players actually run and work out before the “warm up” and first period is played, so that their endorphins and body is releasing the adrenaline it should to play “Hot” from the first drop of the puck. Horvat is a good player, but he dosent tap into what makes him the “beast” he should be, that’s what is disappointing, and it’s uncharacteristic of a Captain to give his all, and lead by his example of play as motivation for others. I think we’re 2 key pieces right now,. a physically skilled power forward, and a physically skilled D man. .. and we both know the playoffs, big men will hit a team to death.. we need a counter strike for that. Either by 2 or 3 key players, or committee. thank you IBatch I appreciate your post,. It was good to go back and listen to Torts again
