  1. Great article by Daniel Gee on McDonough.. https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/aidan-mcdonough-canucks-prospect-ncaa
  2. Perhaps that’s a bigger sign of wanting to leave Chicago, perhaps the USA in general?
  3. I don’t think Z is worth 5, yet. this is his RFA , I think a bridge deal is probably his qualifying (3.5) .. for a single year or 2.
  4. Forgot about Schmidt,. I think he goes to Seattle, if not, that’s fine, he can fit on any pairing, he is physical and flexible. or we use him for an upgrade at the draft to get one of the top 3 D.
  5. I see we both have corrected our meds Alf hope all is well.
  6. . Hamonic with Hughes Zadorov with Rathbone Myers with. _________
  7. Zadorov for OJ. in a heart beat. That uses half of Edlers money and increases our physicality two fold over Edler and OJ. it also iopens the D position to another player.
  8. Just let him know and let him go Jimmy.. otherwise he wants trade protection. Sometimes we fail to see what might be better, an example is Hamonic replacing Tanev. Hamonic is better suited for our hockey, he has a step up heart that backs up his players physically, Tanev did not, Edler dosent. Edler would do well in Seattle.. and all of the romantics here can still watch him play. No more stop gaps.
  9. Z A D O R O V. (goodbye Edler, thanks for the pizza )
  10. signing Edler to a 2-3 mil contract is offering him a comfortable retirement… and that’s exactly the type of game we will get out of him. it’s time to move past the romantic “always a Canuck” attitude we have with this player. That 2-3 mil is better off used with a little more money for a true upgrade, am I the only one that has seen this player make some massive cough up mistakes on a regular basis? I think we have had Edler far too long already.. we’ve paid 6 mil per for a minute eater and stop gap protection. Let’s give our heads a shake and re-set . This type of player placement hinders player progression.
  11. LB shooting arrows back at Burrows.. He looks great in Montreal, I’m sure his enthusiasm and not-so-long ago playoff experiences are spiriting the Habs along. Good Luck Alex, get your lips on it this time.
  12. This makes too much sense SID, especially with the Canuck Franchise have more control over play time and training with pro staff at their fingertips in Abbotsford. Its been a cringe fest hearing how Podz has been handled and held back at times over the past 2 years. Imagine if he had been playing in Abby all this time, and the attention he would have received regarding ice time, training , and skills. Perhaps we see Jurmo in the lower mainland sooner than later.. hope so.
  13. Trying to avoid the “public apology thread” PB? personally I think getting suspended from here now and then is like getting a Gordie Howe Hat Trick .
  14. It’s over for Edler,. Are we really going to hang on to fan favs .. Tanev for Hamonic was a very positive move for Vancouver. Players who can engage in the physicality shut down game in the D end. that stops everything . looks boring to some, unaccounted in stats, but anything to stop the shot or play from proceeding wins the game Defensively.
  15. Another rebuild will be a disaster itself for Buffalo, time to bring in a couple UFA’s
  16. Jake might yet turn it around,. But after this incident even clears, he will never play good hockey in Vancouver.
  17. … but the thought of adding one of the 2 top D men in the Draft ? Blue Chips.
  18. .. perhaps add the rights to Virtannen,. there will never be another “Cam Neely “
  19. In return to Buffalo or Seattle for the 1st or 2nd overall? How far up could we go? As Demko seems to solidify a lengthy career as an elite NHL Goalie, and knowing that the years ahead will offer other back ups with high caliber experience through Free Agency, perhaps this is the time to move our potential, for another teams potential. Adding the 9th pick with Dipietro, should raise a few eyebrows with other teams scouts. Thoughts?
  20. Of course the expansion (extorsion) draft may offer Chicago other options with Zadorov. But it is that size and mobility of D man that the Canucks miss.
  21. Cal Clutterbuck . . Must be pushing 50 yrs now,. Feels like I’ve heard his name for 3 decades lol
  22. I’m surprised that the back-step hit isn’t called as interference or obstruction. personally I would drop to the ice on that move and look at the ref.
