  1. I kind of think Diamond did not do his due diligence here.. the numbers should have been discussed far before hand. Why did it have to come to one meeting, and a rush for time, to crunch numbers? A meeting like this should have been practically ceremonial in a sense. Well planned, numbers set and agreed upon. Not a one time bid, without understanding. Diamond should have had n in numbers that were agreed to by Tryamkin far in advance, and also known what was offered by Avtomobilist. Or , this should have been the first meeting of a possible 3. There are/ were , some huge trust issues surfacing from the Tryamkin side.. if it’s Tryamkins knee jerk reaction. Diamond should have been prepared for it,. and let Tryamkin know that a process has to fairly take place. Or they both lose credibility in fair negation. still shaking my head.
  2. ZMacEwan. a good first “full” season , growing every game right now. Eriksson should have been in the minors 2 years ago.
  3. Cheers Fanuck,. hope others feel free to show the NHL how unpopular their inaction is.. it’s the same situation that led up to Berts incident.
  4. I guess slamming guys to the ground into submission is not only an MMA / UFC move. Doesent seem to be any rules in the NHL about it. Could be the “go to” move in all fights. Wilsons actions were disgusting,. The NHL’s in-action even more disgusting.. dosent help with the lack of accountability or accessibility to the league.. The media needs to make a bigger issue about this. Panarin could have easily ended up dead or in a wheel chair by Wilson’s actions.. it was no accident, a meditated move, proven by the rag-doll slamming after the fact. as far as our experiences as fans here in Vancouver with how the League handled over the line” incidents.. Arron Rome, Raffi Torres, and yes Bert. Good for the Rangers to be vocal, but we as fans need to follow in the same way. How long before we witness a “manslaughter charge” in the game? I just tried to find an email for the leagues office.. 0 in my search.. go figure.
  5. Too add: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/john-scott-blasts-nhl-parros-not-suspending-tom-wilson/
  6. I too , can not stop shaking my head... If Tryamkin was a part of his vision, it should have happened. But what do I know .
  7. Burrows, I think those teams you mentioned are in for a world of grief themselves.. (The Leafs - Tavares 11m per.) There is a ditch with Tavares name on it being dug beside Eriksson Rd.
  8. It just seems a bit one sided Koots, That a player (worker) looks at other players contracts and performance to base their salary from.. But the organization is handcuffed to pay out for diminished or unsatisfactory work. For the NHLPA,. this does not help if they are looking for the Capital Spending to rise and be more fluid between all players. We’ve just seen Tryamkin leave because after taxes , it seems he can make the same money in Russia. ( another point) . Perhaps contracts aren’t “performance based”, but a true line in the contract could be written for “ pay regarding lack of performance “. Then the argument arises, about being held back or being placed on a Bottom line.. To that: there are too many statistics carried in this game that would reveal a lack of opportunity to perform to a contracts potential.. and or the opportunities created to perform to that potential.
  9. Two years, possibly 3 of flat cap has not helped any matters , it’s truly putting those teams, like us, at a huge disadvantage of being able to sign the core players we have at price point. The one Team that will have a clear advantage over all other teams in the immediate future is Seattle,. If done right, they hold every card to out perform LasVegas for the next 3-5 years. Covid has upset everything.. and as much blame still goes back to signing players like LE and Sutter,. Performance of the player regarding a high price point and non movement in those contracts they bring , has to be held accountable for. ANYONE in the REAL WORLD, has to live up to the contracts they sign regarding the work and performance they bring. Some situations bring on litigation for poor work and workmanship. Perhaps that is something that needs to be looked at. If a player can go to arbitration before a contract is signed to find a comparable performance level of his play with that of another player. Then it should be fair for an organization to hold a player to a level of performance that he supposedly brings. I have found it shocking that a player like Loui Eriksson in this day and age can stroll into the Canucks office in the Summer, and pick up his LARGE signing bonuses with the performance of work he has brought. Its SHOCKING, it’s UNETHICAL, it’s UNREASONABLE, all contracts signed should be guaranteed , but only by being based on a criteria associated with performance based. FLOATERS have monetarily killed the progression of this team, handcuffed us to the goal posts. and in Tryamkins case, stymied progression to this Team. Teams need protection over players that rapidly decline after signing contracts above a certain money number point. it’s needed.
  10. Some forget this is just a sport, to some it is employment , to those playing a sport, wanting longetivity out of it and at best, a scenario that works for them. Some here forget he is from a foreign country, with an authoritarian regime. Some here forget there is a Pandemic upsetting the balance of the world, .. and sadly but true, some people forget they have themselves and there family to think about first. ... and exactly what you’ve stated , Certainty vs uncertainty.. In an upside down world, I would pause on certainty.
  11. Did any Sports Journalist ask if Tryamkin had an “out” clause on his contract this time ?
  12. Eriksson Luongo Sutter .. as far as pay, pay for performance, or non performance goes, that’s a brush that can cover an entire wall , and the imperfections push through. The flat cap, and of course the disruption of all business due to C-19 are also a reality check. ... and yes, we all look at our pay cheques, TAXES paid, bank accounts and life style, to see if adjustments can be made for the better, or realize something dosent work. Sometimes Timing is everything in those decisions, and you could win, or lose more by waiting for the truly unpredictable. Lets all be real . Tryamkin was only a possibility at this time in a disruptive world. Had the cap risen significantly, especially realizing a new Cable deal was signed, Had the NHL readjusted some of the rules regarding protected players being allowed to play durring this C-19 time (we could have had Nik last season). Buy outs could have been re-adjusted. Caps shouldn’t be secret. .. and surely a former player (Luongo) being paid by us while working for another organization because of an made up rule by the NHL (a pissing match with Bettman) , should have disappeared durring this time. although the league and organizations have done a lot to keep the game on ice, they forget they could have looked to the organizations to see how they could have helped . Each has interesting situations that bleed money, instead, Bettman has looked for the grandeur of inking a substantial Cable Contract, than get on the benches with each organization and owner, not only to listen, but to implement proper changes to keep all and everything in hockey healthy. it will also be interesting to see where the new cap, and team numbers (the great unknown) lie, after this season as some contracts expire, what others sign for. ..and what money remains,. another hind sight moment awaits. Good Luck Tryamkin, And for all invoved in this where, the Canucks , Tryamkin, and Diamond are concerned, sometimes you have to give up a bit in the moment, to get the true rewards of the future. For me, I’m disappointed, but that’s what an upside world can do .. to anybody.
  13. If anyone can translate it,.
  14. Life, maturity, Flat caps, Covid, lack of progression in a D core that needed rotating 3 years ago.. Life , time to mow the lawn.. again.
  15. His poise for a young man looks similar. it’s early rocks,
  16. Soooo disappointing. Diamond said they would take a one or 2 year deal.. and Canucks were far apart. ? this is unfortunate.
  17. It’s true, this has so very much to do with Covid, and although I saw the hi light of Green trying to get the last fire out of his team, I think it happened once they got on a plane to travel. We should not be concerned too much about how this season ends and where we end up,, quite frankly , playoffs will kill our squads mentally if they happen to make a first round only to lose. Im happy to see glimpses of potential in our prospect,. It’s too bad, but probably got the best that Podz and Tryamkin arrive after this season for Summer training. Never wanted to see us in the draft lottery again unless it was traded for, but Owen Powers,. I’d love to race our 3rd and first up for that no. 1 pick.. it would keep a positive flow in our farm.
  18. Koots, I don’t think he has to be proven guilty for his contract to be terminated,. That fact that only part of this allegation might hold truth is probably enough to break “a code of conduct and ethics” that most contracts stipulate. .. I think Jake has had issues with other things regarding that code. Players are paid as representatives of the company/ organization. I’m sure this is why the Canucks has hired a private investigator in the matter, to find out what the truths are, and let the organization know if they need to help represent him,. Or clear his stall, and write “The End”. If he had greater value , ie Patrick Kane, this would be handled differently I’m sure.
  19. Lind dosent look too out of place at all, he’s “reading” the game right now, looking for his opportunity amongst his responsibilities. He is still growing physically , but not afraid to get involved.. could be a Troy Brouwer, David Backes type forward.. perhaps an offensive upside that’s better than that. Good Luck Cole, make the Summer Count.
  20. Looking at him makes it look rougher.
  21. Congrats on the Gagarin Cup ! i read an article a couple of years back where he honestly stated it was his life long dream to win a gold , or championship at every major tournament in the sport of hockey of hockey. His latest Gagarin Championship win in the KHL adds to Olympic gold, World Championship gold, and U18 World Championships gold.. He is only a Stanley Cup Championship win away from being in that rare honour of having accomplished those 5 titles,. a remarkable achievement in itself. I think that’s enough motivation to get anyone to prepare themselves to be in the best shape of their life. Good luck Ilya. im certain he would sign a fair contract for the opportunity to be on the team he thinks could get him there and contribute productively. a .55 -.60 ppg player in his last 4 seasons in the NHL, a 1.0 ppg av in his last KHL season. this is a player contributing for his teams, and trying to live his wildest dream.
  22. Sounds like he gets picked up by Seattle, or the first qualifying offer to him, he leaves Chicago? The Hawks probably should have let him go for something,. Or perhaps they just want to clear cap space and sign a UFA ... like Edler
