Apparently his stock in Chicago is diminished value ., I couldn’t tag the link, had to copy and paste this news. Latest On Nikita Zadorov, Chicago Blackhawks April 20th, 2021 at 8:30pm CST • By Zach Leach The Chicago Blackhawks were reportedly listening to offers for defenseman Nikita Zadorov at the NHL Trade Deadline, but ultimately decided not to move him. However, that doesn’t mean that the two sides will stay together for much longer. As Ben Pope writesfor the Chicago Sun-Times, the Blackhawks have dropped some hints that they are not content with the big blue liner and time is running out for him to prove himself. Zadorov, 25, is in his first season in Chicago after coming over from the Colorado Avalanche in the Brandon Saad trade this past off-season. The Blackhawks hoped that Zadorov would step into a lineup that was missing many difference-makers on the back end and would transform into a bona fide top pair defenseman. While Zadorov has still been impressive as a physical force and solid defender, there has not been much else to praise about Zadorov’s game this season. He has been firmly entrenched as a second-pair defender in terms of time on ice, is fifth in defensive scoring and even lower in per-game production, and is on pace for a career-high in giveaways, even in a shortenedseason. Zadorov has merely continued to play the same role in Chicago as he did in Colorado, that of a complementary stay-at-home defenseman. While that is not without value, it isn’t what was expected of the 2013 first-round pick and may not be worth the cost to the Blackhawks. The team has not-so-subtly expressed their frustration recently, acquiring a younger and similar style of defender in Riley Stillman and then making Zadorov a healthy scratch on deadline day after discussing him with other teams beforehand. This off-season, Zadorov presents a number of challenges to Chicago. The impending restricted free agent will need a new contract, which at a minimum will require a $3.2MM qualifying offer. However, despite his underwhelming effort this season, Zadorov can probably argue for making more than that and has the option to file for arbitration to support that claim. The problem for the Blackhawks is that they have very few contracts coming off the books this off-season and are projected to have limited cap flexibility to make other moves. Retaining Zadorov at a higher number even further reduces that cap space without making a material change to their roster, which is only a fringe playoff team thisseason. A potential arbitration case makes using their cap space even more problematic. If the relatively young blue liner demands a long-term deal as well, that becomes an issue with a number of young players already pushing for play time. Beyond the actual contract, the only way that Chicago can ensure that they even retain Zadorov’s RFA rights beyond July 21 is to protect him in the upcoming NHL Expansion Draft. With Duncan Keith and Connor Murphy as virtual locks to be protecting, adding Zadorov to that group would mean exposing valuable veteran Calvin de Haan and the recently-acquired Stillman. Yet, if they don’t protect Zadorov he could very easily be selected and lost for nothing. In order to avoid a difficult expansion decision and possible contract battle and arbitration case, theBlackhawks may decide to re-ignite trade talks for Zadorov once their season has come to an end. Until then, Pope notes that Zadorov will be given every chance to prove that he is worthy of a longer look in Chicago. With de Haan and Adam Boqvist currently injured and the Blackhawks fighting for a playoff spot, Zadorov has the chance to step up and finally show that he can be a complete top-four defenseman. If he succeeds, perhaps all of the off-season issues fall by the wayside in favor of keeping a rare physical specimen and good young defender at all costs. However, if he falters then the partnership between the Blackhawks and Zadorov could be coming to an end sooner rather than later.

That’s a great story Bouds, yes, Norm Ullman, how could I forget.. especially with that name. Age amongst good friends is only recognized in the character of their laughter, and the next story that follows.

Geeez Bouds! You’ve got some rings on your stump! at 5 yrs (67) I crossed the Atlantic out of Liverpool with my Folks.. dad a coal miner, mum a big band singer. My “ coal miner and the canary”.. we crashed through the ice down the St Lawrence that April to land in Quebec City. The next morning , those shiny steel rails had as bound for the west coast,. Mountains looked like Cathedrals, Tree tops Vanished into the he sky, and snow flakes the size of my fists fell from the Sky. Canada... seemed like my Disneyland,. Still does. Keon Plante Armstrong Salming Ullman Sittler, Orr Esposito Cheevers Gump Worlsley, love that name. Lafleur Big M Savard spin o Rama’s Dryden, Clarke and prairie dirt. Team Canada, Tretchyack Karlamovs Yakushev and the Wall Falls. Oh, and the Canucks got a team, again Shmautz Boudrias, Sandersons fur jackets rail line jitters and AA moves, Odlefson, Quinn, Lever.. Smyl Snepts Gino Lindens ribs and eyes,. Bure - I’m still shaking my head at the evolution he brought. I’m still saying oh my god. We owned NY,. And New York knows it.. Ronning choked with a broken wrist, Mike Peca saw it from the press box, and God Saved America again. but Canada, is still my Disneyland. Grateful. Wouldn’t want to be in any other Country, or place in the world.

And.. Zadorov. would love to see Jamie Benn on the ice at the same time both Nik and Z are,. in this clip he stands up Benn the same way Nik did lol.

Makes for some interesting conversation Jan, I appreciate this viewpoint, even though it might not fly with a lot of posters.. and even I wouldn’t dare start a thread on it LOL it worth discussing .. I guess the question is where too , and for what.. I realize it saves us a ton of money, and you seem to have snapped together a pretty good D core without Hughes.. Im guessing we’re looking at 2 really good picks that enter the NHL to play in 2 -3 years. That’s about the timing I hope to see Jurmo in a Canuck Jersey. I also like the lineup of the top 3 in this years draft.. if we were able to get Owen Powers.. with or without moving Hughes.. That makes us exciting for many years. Quinn’s brother plays in NJ.. let’s be nice and trade him there for : Miles Wood and a first rnd pick this year, or next . IF we got their pick this year, we could stack it with ours and trade up for first overall. Boom.. Owen Powers. ps. I think the Canuck play is reflective of what after Covid symptoms are like.

Not sure how it works, I was thinking we could qualify him after the trade, ( discussions to take place before). So first year 3.2m - 2nd year **1.8 m ... (avg cap 2m per). ** hypothetical. Gotta be a way. Love to understand how something like this could work as well. -
Have Both Habs.. it’s possible. I can not imagine what life is really like in the city of Chicago these days, crime with guns, racial injustice, Covid.. not a great place to be.. We take for granted, how good we really have it here , trust me... He dose not like it there..

Drop Edlers games into half Joulevi and Rathbone can each do the same.. I don’t see why Rathbone would not be on a 2 way until waiver eligible. This just ensures a natural progression over the next 2 years. my honest opinion is Edler dosent need to come back. we need to move on. As we have from Tanev. I’ve said this many times,. We have to stop hanging on to players for Ceremonial Reasons,. We have a tendency in this City to hang on to players past there best before date , It’s been killing us for years. Now with some good D prospects NEEDING to show, Tryamkin, Joulevi, Rathbone, Raferty , Breisbois, Woo, next Jurmo.. they need to know there is, and deserve their chance at progression in this franchise. -

SilentSam replied to SilentSam's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
There’s a possibility we could even keep Edler in our midsts, not losing any D fence progression from the Farm. as I quoted earlier.. Trade Jake ( & possibly Breisbois) for rights to Zadorov RFA Use Jake’s 2.5 for Zadorov. From Edlers 6m sign Tryamkin 2m x 2 add 1.5m to Hamonics 1.25 sign Hamonic at 2.75m Leaving 2.5 for Edler or someone else -

I need my bi focals,. Did you say fit or hit ? he’s a great shutdown D man, one hit usualy ends the play and creates the turnover, more successful than a stick check usually, it takes a lot of attention away from the play.. and creates apprehension amongst most opponents if executed properly. No real statistic for it other than “hit” unfortunately. it’s bigger than that. -
Seriously think this is alternative universe to the Sedins playing together... Tryamkin and Zadorov here could be something special, their like twins
-
I’m trying hard here.. trade Jake for Zadorov, add Breisbois if you have to. Use Jake’s 2.5 for Zadorov. From Edlers 6m.. sign Tryamkin 2m x 2 add 1.5m to Hamonics 1.25 sign Hamonic at 2.75m Leaving 2.5 for Edler or someone else. We really lose no D man or money on that re-distribution of funds. But we gain 2 really good ones with more up potential each. @Jimmy McGill, I prefer Oban in my morning dirty drink... little maple syrup

I think Zadorov would sign for less,. I beleive Chicago has to qualify him at the same rate?? but he could potentially sign for less if traded. Use Jake’s 2.5 for Zadorov. From Edlers 6m sign Tryamkin 2m x 2 add 1.5m to Hamonics 1.25 sign Hamonic at 2.75m Leaving 2.5 for Edler or someone else -

Why didn’t Schenn get tossed? Totally. at the moment he dropped the gloves . Then he picks his gloves up for a bad puck drop.. referees couldn’t put a match out in the pouring rain in this league. -
I like it! personaly, I’d still like us to try and grab Zadorov in a trade after the ED, that’s if he isn’t taken by Seattle, but still a trade could be possible. For Edlers money saved (6m) we could add to Hamonics 1.25 Sign Tryamkin and money left for Zadorov IF he came here. Hughes Hamonic Zadorov - Myers/ Scmiditt Joulevi Tryamkin Bowie Rathbone i think it’s Jake and Breisbois going for an RFA Zadorov, or one of Myers/Schmidt Zadorov might sign a bridge for less than the 3.2 on the books presently. I think Zadorov and Tryamkin were teammates on the national squad,. and knowing Podkolzkin is coming very soon allows me to use my favourite gif again From Russia with Love.

Lol, no, but I do pick up my new bi focals today Jimmy ! Truth! Not sure what they mean by Bi Focals these days,. I’ve always been an “open minded” guy. I have no high opinion of any one’s sexuality, really don’t think I need the glasses.

Rob Zep is going to buy me a coffee before we enter the playoffs next season. Probably at a game Tryamkin gets a standing ovation for finishing off Jamie Benn. As I shared before, once a week, catch up with Daniel Gee and Canucksbbyfan2 on Twitter. some solid insight, without a lot of opinion. Thats what to look for,. Truly wish Talk Radio would buy into the concept of fact, rather than opinionated ridicule, or clueless praise. My opinion from watching him for 4 years is keen. I see him as a top 2 pairing D man after 1 more full season in the NHL. .. and even if he dosent get that position, know that Benning has stacked us with some fabulous grabs that work “chemically “ together. by Chemically, an example of how Hughes and Hamonics separate talents are uniting to make a fabulous pairing. Tryamkin is 6’7. 256 lbs? Ive never seen a man this size so mobile and fast on his skates.. on the NA rink, he will shutdown offensive cycles in his zone with ease.. forwards are reluctant to drop their head when he is skating, or go to the boards. He easily skates better and plays better that Chara did at this age.. but like Chara , going on 27 yrs.. will prove to prime and hold steady on talent, that keeps him in the NHL for years. .. or I buy you a coffee

@Jimmy McGill, My apologies my last post quoted to you, was for Fan42 . still buy you a coffee though

Have your opinion,. But bring some facts from sources that have those facts.. not their opinions and their lack of facts. ... or prepare to defend your wrong opinions or lack of fact. ... these are discussion boards. N.American scouts, watch North American Hockey. You’ve got to go outside of your comfort zone to get the information. Listening to morning talk show radio in this town could turn you into somebodies pull toy.. or you just lie in bed listening and become one. craig Button dosent show his research, or document hi lites. a lot of scouts on Twitter ( previously shared with you) do.

To be honest Google, I didn’t think Hamonic would resurrect himself with us.. Perhaps my keen and good expectations of Tryamkin, are as vastly underrated

EP Rinkside. Daniel Gee. Igor Eronko. KHL Diaries. Patric C. Canucksabbyfan2 and KHL. ...are all good Twitter accounts that pertain to watching our prospects and or overseas hockey in general. Canuckabbyfan2. is solid, Lots of video on our prospects including Tryamkin. Its the collective opinion I gather from reports like this, to form an opinion of my own. Having an opinion without any related facts or numbers, is really only a personal statement without real knowledge. Too many times , especially in this thread, posters appear only to spew the emotional attachment or dislike they have for a player. Even if you go back 100 pages of this 700 page thread, you will find decent information that has been shared , that might have you affirming a position you might have, or coming to a whole new conclusion on this player.
