  1. ... this is for Bill Peters.
  2. He is living up to his potential Theo,. but the ceiling on this kid, and I suspect the longetivity of his career are going to flourish in the NHL. Perhaps a bit of good luck to be playing with a North American Coach who will help to see his full tool box opened and prepare him for expectations and his experience with the Canucks.
  3. I too think that the only way Benning signs Markstrom is without the protection of NM / NT clauses attached and is left the unprotected goalie in the Extorsion Draft. Regardless , I see Demko possibly seeing no less than 40 % of games started next season. Its a great problem to have. ...and Markstrom should be happy he was believed in long enough to get to the level of play he did with us, regardless of him staying or leaving. Personally I think JM loves Vancouver, and is humble enough to be able to work something out to stay.. but again, I can not see Demko being the goalie exposed.. the only other goalie I’ve seen that plays that icy cold is Price.
  4. Nik definitely would have taken the piss out of a lot of the intimidation the Canucks have faced so far.. The young man is built for playoff hockey , strong and powerful on opposing forwards,. And cool headed doing it. Reaves and Carrier would be smudge marks on the boards,. A someone like Perron would be used at the next WHL teddy bear toss. Next season I can see the main focus on Defence. Our offensive changes will just happen with players being pushed out of jobs by way of a great farm system.. Quite possible all our answers on D fence are already within our “rights” and ready for the next step. As odd a season this has been, the excitement of what Benning has been creating is on the surface. Have a great night in Edmonton boys! Id say the win tonight takes us to a seventh game win hands down. Vegas should be feeling desperate. ... even if Markstrom is on the bench.
  5. Still think when Tryamkin gets back, he will have lots of time left in his career to hold the NHL tittle for most broken legs against opponents
  6. Mean while.. back at the ranch..
  7. We’re still playin on nerves... we are winning face offs,.. just need to play possession and not chase the points we are down. They are not a good team without the puck,. We have done it to them in regular season play.
  8. From video I’ve seen of Podolzkin over the past and present (exhibition). . he engages like Stan Smyl used to, always pressure , very little gap, likes to finish his check.. fearless. ... and I know it’s going out on a limb, but there is an element of Bures game and how his play used to funnel toward the net consistently,. No time wasted on perimeter play , it’s pucks to the net and get the rebound. 300ft player, he is back and up again and back again.. tenacious. Pretty sure when he gets here he sticks.. there will be room, or room made.
  9. Such a great statement Slegr! i too think we are in some for some fun years, will be nice to see “The Garage” come to life again in the future.
  10. Regular season: Stink in C / rink. Playoffs: Black n gold skate is home jersey, Stick C / in rink away. Nuke the whales.
  11. Probably my brain Nux ..
  12. Tryamkin easily adapted to the Canadian size rink in 2016. .. and the Conversions in the KHL started 2018-19. Tryamkin thrived on his physical prowess in the NHL because of the tighter gap he could produce on forwards. Im pretty sure Podolzkin, who’s jump, physical play, aggressiveness on the puck, and straight line attacks will prove that conversations in this era of the game about rink sizes and adapting , are becoming over rated.
  13. If Jake can get going in this series we could be unstoppable with our line up rotations
  14. That should have been the Blues best period,.. I’m not impressed with that push... I think we’ll get off our heels in that anticipation,. And push toes hard now.
  15. Keep wishing we were wea4ing the Black and Gold uni’s from time to time through the playoffs... its funny how the color black can seem and look intimidating and powerful.
  16. Loving the pack mentality we latched on to after the 1st game of this series, Seeing everyone rally to crowd the late hit by Perron on Motte at the end of the 1st.
  17. I would think that sho7ld have been the blues push backstart.. 1 st period down 2 games to zip.. not much of a statement for them. couple of red bulls and we’re on our toes
