  1. CS, I didn’t see this season as a strong push to win a Cup, I did see playoffs,. But even with our D the way it is, it doesn’t seem to have the physical resistance to survive 2 strong series. Personally I thought it probably more an opportunity to bring a rookie or 2 up . With Rafferty, Joulevi, Breisbois , Sautner , available to help for a round or 2.. and be able possibly pick up a 2nd rnd pick this draft or next, just helps, and speeds up the way this is probably going to play out. Hughes is going to make all of his partners look great,. It will be interesting to see how much better he gets with the right partner. One that can shut cycles down physically and almost instantly for QH to pick up on the puck separation, without losing speed.
  2. He has played a solid 79 games in the NHL. Was offered a contract 3 years ago to stay. The amount was rumoured to be 2m +/- per. 3 years ago. Benning wants him. That’s all that matters. Say goodbye, so long, to Tin-ev.. Not paying 4 -5 mil per for a guy who should have come into the league with a personal medical stretcher, and leaving a half season gap in the line up every season. Tryamkin will fill that nicely. Will be a shame we didn’t ship Tanev this season for a pick.
  3. It will be interesting to see what the protocol is for a team, if or when a team member tests positive.. protocol right now is 14 days at home if exposed to some one. I beleive there has been NHL players who have already tested positive only a few weeks ago,. And noe some of the information states that it lingers on without an expiry. KHL Canceled their season amidst the playoffs in April.
  4. Nobody owes anybody anything except Bettman to Corporate Networks for not having an insurance policy in the contracts for something like this. Force de jour.. its in many other industries.
  5. That’s bs. And I bet you close to, or more than half the players have a problem with this.. probably why I’m hearing it’s not going to a membership vote. Hey boys, back to meat packing.!
  6. It’s going to be such a fiasco S. T. Sorry guys, no spitting on or off the ice,. No sweating, Don’t touch me! No Heavy breathing.. Shower at home, and take your gear with you.. Like you said, these teams are going to get pulled apart with the slightest indicators of health issues.. What about the Diabetic and Asthmatic Players, or anyone else with issues.. This is a huge gamble for 2-3 months of hockey, for a Tainted Cup one team won’t be able to share a drink from.
  7. Meat packing plants aren’t Arenas either.. 40 - 50 guys going to work.. cool air and flesh.
  8. I don’t think the NHLPA is greeting this concept of returning to work with open arms,.. wait until the players react to this. ... would you go back to a meat packing plant for work ?
  9. What’s the rational behind not realizing that this Virus is existing and thriving still? I don’t want to see the NHL return to finish this season because even behind what “safe guards” are dreamt up your asking athletes to return to a game with 40 players engaged in full physical contact, body fluids, blood, and sweat being passed around into each other’s immune systems... from one team to the next throughout a tournament. This isn’t a one hour MMA fight between 2 fighters.. it’s far, far , from that. And even knowing that someone might not test positive, they can be positive. Even the testing is messed up. So , we play 2 months of hockey that might totally write off the following season.. how about that financially?.. that’s the rationale. If there was ever a test for patience, this is it. Hell, start the 20/ 21 season in September with Camps opening in late July.. open the broadcasting contracts now to specifically and significantly raise the Cap next season.. The Summer movement of players and team restructuring would be dynamic. Up the buy outs to 3 per team,. Move this age progression in its proper direction. If the NHL can sit a season over CBA agreements, they can certainly sit on there hands for 3 more months and come up with how the next season will open properly and in a spectacular fashion with new norms and rules solidly in place. Times like these call for positive pragmatic moves to enhance,. not band aid solutions to save.
  10. I been watching quite a bit of the U.S. news lately,. I don’t know that they have truly paid attention to there “curve” graphs with this pandemic. .. now raising its head with young children. I do though, think that Canada, and Canadians stood side by side ( 6ft apart ).. in this curb and control defence. Should definitely be 1 Canadian city, considering the borders are basically closed to travel til mid June,. And add another 2 weeks “home quarantine”. .. I do think Canada is a better option for 2 cities with no spectators. .IF the games are without Spectators. demographically, Training facilities (7 rinks or more).. Vancouver should be a target. Hats off to Hogan for stepping right up to that, and the way BC, B Henry in general have handled this entire Pandemic issue. Trudeau and his crew deserve some credit as well for making sure CERB worked effectively 1st. ,
  11. I see Tryamkin as a defender that is unlike Tanev, but better in many other ways, and has the potential and longetivity to be better than Tanev has been, in a less “shine the light” fashion . After watching Nik play this season, I’m quite sure he will prove this within his next full season with us. Tryamkin IS something this team has not seen for quite some time, and the type of Ironman always needed for playoff play. Im looking forward to the Draft, and UFA... and a Cap announcement. I would rather see this season as finished so Teams can concentrate on those issues, training camp, and the next season starting with new norms.. one without face licking,. And perhaps even a penalty for “face washing” now.
  12. Curious, Q, What’s your opinion on Tanev ? I have him as time expired here.. For all of the above reasons and comments that @Nuxfanabroad made a page back. Time to get Tryamkin on our tracks and a couple of well deserving lads out of Utica rotating in next season .
  13. Ok, so hypothetically speaking,. They Cancel the season. We sign Toffoli before the Draft. Trade Boeser and Demko at the Draft to Montreal for D man prospect Romanov, and a 1st rnd pick. We might possibly lose Demko the following season at the Extorsion Draft. Boesers money secures Toffoli. . . And the 1 or 2 contracts we take out of that are ELC’s. We still might have room to make a play for Pietrangelo. Pray to the Gods LE dosent come back. oh.. here’s a beauty for you Jan..
  14. ... I think you’ll agree Ray, that it’s far too easy to be a Sprorts Journalist in Vancouver.
  15. CDC Should really have individual threads for these Journalists that promote negativity in this town.. they deserve they’re own treatment . Fair play .
  16. Tryamkin for Corrado ?
  17. Sekeres is taking his entertainment cues from Trump.. remember this flu will go away in April when it warms up. They play to masses of emotionally tied prince and princesses who live in glass menageries. J Patterson is just plain dumb. There are 12 year olds who know the game better that could ask better questions to an NHL Coach or GM. JP. pretends to ask a sports psychologists question, leaving for open ended answers.. the guy dosent have a pulse for the game.. frozen guber., they all are in this town. Wanna be managers, backyard drunks. None of them study the leagues (including international) to see the talent rising or make the fantastic contacts and relationships that give them the access to honesty,. And a path to great friendships around the world. They are happy with their followers in this small town of a city.. they think they’re gods that speak wisdom. .... Emperors in new clothes, all of them,. So easy to see.
  18. Your drinking the bait.. I hear “Sleemans” gets the water for their beer from a lake that millions swim in and cities drain into.
  19. We paid way too much for JT Miller.. Benning has lost his mind, he will be fired.
  20. Ps. Thanks for the home work on this AK_19.. ...I think that “little birdy” reference is to his “twitter feed,. Where NT is getting slaughtered at times when these stooges negatively hype up anything Tryamkin. Heis a fantastic player for this team to have a hand on.. we have nothing next season on D, apart from a future with Hughes and Myers to build on,.. and Tryamkin is the perfect size , skill set, and all around player to support and add to that cast.
  21. But weren’t Trouba and Nylander IN RFA negotiations still active with the NHL? . They had not signed another contract to fulfill elsewhere.. and they were probably not listed on a reserve roster. Just seems to me this is entirely different Mil. After playing 3 seasons in a different league that has no contractual agreements with the NHL, this is a player that has played out his contract and season somewhere else, and is sitting on our reserve roster. It is different.. I would like to hear the Leagues fair interpretation of this.. but I doubt we get to hear it.
  22. Sounds like these guys are getting their “tips” from D Trump and his magic black sharpie.
