  1. It should be a “Gif”. Lol.
  2. The interesting thing to note is when will cross border travel be allowed ? Surely they are waiting for a vaccine, or perhaps Players and club members are placed into a 2 week quarantine upon arrival to a host city,. That’s IF Vancouver becomes one.. but that sounds like July. “Horgan said it would remain mandatory for people coming into B.C. from overseas to stay in quarantine for two weeks, with some exceptions for groups like airline workers.“ “If you’re coming to B.C., it has to be for essential service or essential business,” he said. “And if you do come back from somewhere else in the world, and you’re going to be residing in B.C., you will have to observe a 14-day isolation period. We’re going to be monitoring that with the federal government for the foreseeable future.”
  3. So sorry to hear this. May the pride of strong relationship and fond memories, fill the void of loss quickly. They live on through us.
  4. Well,. At least they can monitor any rebound effect of this Virus to that date,.. but, but,
  5. So then I wonder if we are rolling straight into the 20 -21 season Jimmy.. camps are normally in Sept with pre-season , then regular Season in October. I still think we cancel the season. It’s getting to close to next season, and the “start up”of the economy is going to be a mess. They still haven’t curved this thing down.. I see a huge Re-bound of this Virus I the U.S.
  6. So with the potential of playoff hockey in July, do the masterminds of this league look to push us into playoff hockey immediately? July 1st is a date that is far more important than Draft day in June. Will the league look to players and NHLPA to waive or amend their contracts? Does this potential action open the door to other amendments between the NHL and NHLPA as a bargaining chip? ..Or will this cancel a season? Thoughts ladies and gents?
  7. Any body heard what’s happening with Free Agency on July 1st? Is the League looking for players to waive that until the end of the Cup Final? ..this seems like it would be a bigger topic than the date of the Draft if we are playing hockey in July.
  8. Was reported by Sports Net, Sorry my iPad not copying links right now. Maple Leafs sign defenceman Mikko Lehtonen to one-year entry-level deal
  9. Maple Leafs sign defenceman Mikko Lehtonen to one-year entry-level deal SN. sorry, link wont transfer.
  10. Sorry Jan , For me , guard hasn’t changed until Edler and Tanev are gone. then we will finally have true no1 and 2 d men in Hughes and Rathbone and 4 others with offensive prowess but true shutdown capabilities. letting Tanev go gets us closer to that strength.
  11. Who do we have on D that has crushed a player since 2011 ? Tanev is a ghost in so many ways, he might look bright and shiny with Q Hughes. But he is far from dependable given on this, his last contract with us.. he has played only 66% of the time. over 4 years since the 15-16 season his games played are 69 / 53 / 42 / 55. this 19/20 season is not included,. But Hughes made Tanev look better. People here think Tanev as a #1. Or 2 Dman . he is not. He is at most a second pairing D man at best. . and his dependability to hold a line together waivers because he is historically absent . Sign him as a 5 / six or seven guy and you get your money out of him.. but to date,. He has been paid 4.45m per for an average of about 59 games a season. it’s the same as having a great worker on a construction site , but only shows up to work Mon Tues, and Wednesday he leaves after lunch... but gets a full paycheque. Tryamkin will prove time be an upgrade over Tanev by the end of his next season with us. He is not Tanev, but he has a better toolbox, Is stronger, and is a better shutdown D.
  12. Your flip flop opinions in most threads are the best. It’s been nice watching other posters call you on it... soon to be here too.
  13. My post was more facetious Sid, Knowing the discontent here with fans when Tryamkin had the clause regarding not going to Utica. Same situation really, just that most European leagues have agreements with the NHL regarding this type of contract. I beleive the KHL and NHL are working on this matter this off season. personaly, if I was a young player coming from Europe or Russia, I would want the type of control in the very least.
  14. Just heard he has a European out clause after 10 games in Utica.. How long before before he becomes hate bait? Lol
  15. Perhaps with Edler leaving after the following season, that money could be factored into a contract worth offering.. smaller cap hit in the first season, rising for the following 2 or 3 years ( solid cup runs) and lowering for a 4th or 5th season. Pietrangelo has been paid well over this RFA time, 6.5 per.. which is the way the league is going, banking on the 23-29 year old to give you his best hockey. I just don’t see his game dropping off, team wise the D. Core he has been on has been solid,. But individually an all around elite full tool box healthy player. all just wish full thinking ,. Ps. “Move Tanev before the Deadline”.. I think that’s come and gone to his FAgency on July 1st. i did want to see him moved this season for a pick,. banking for the off season. Im confident that Tryamkin will prove to be a better and healthier player than Tanev ever was.
  16. I do see Petrangelo as a guy to talk to once he hits free agency. With what Tanev and Stetcher are looking for, the “round-about” money is there. as I’ve stated before , a forward has to go, a trade for a good pick, or a certain player retires, or doesn’t come back from Sweden.
  17. Bouds, with the underlined statement, I wonder if letting both Tanev and Stetcher go , if we’re able to sign Alex Petrangelo (also FA) to a deal? he is getting older , but he is the same age as Tanev, and plays 70-80 games per season historically. I just think that the money used for Tanev could be better used. Edler - Myers Hughes - Petrangelo Tryamkin - Rafferty/ Rathbone/ Joulevi Petrangelo would be the perfect mentor for the D men, Hughes, Tryamkin, Rafferty, Rathbone, Joulevi , and be able to push Myers to another level. after next season, another 6m is off the books with Edler out.
  18. But is it a stable player who has historically played 60-70% of the season? what stability does that bring to the team?Sutter eats the same biscuit. Some players are just prone. Thats about 8 or 9 mil between those 2 alone. i have to agree with Hairy,. Dillon isn’t a bad change.. who knows what frees up over this summer.. it’s going to be interesting. Even without a game being played. Personally I see Tanev as over rated in this town.. we have never really had a true # 1 Dman.. Although Hughes has that vibe. All Stanley Cup Champs had at least 1 Top Dman.. finally the fog is lifting.
  19. That’s your way of evading the question I had for you out of my quote? Have you watched Tryamkin play any games over the past 3 seasons he has been away?
  20. ... and they should take away game passes to all the journalists in this town,. The friggin negativity just doesn’t stop. Tryamkin just might be the best Defensive import in the entire league next season, kind of getting a plug and play slushy maker in August.
  21. I suppose you didn’t watch him play either?.. his role was changed to be more of a shut down D and he played very well as that. including lots of PK time. the odd game was given the green light to see if he could catch opponents off guard,. Those opportunities were rare , but some beauty highlight rushes.
  22. The other thing to think of is, do we trade a top forward for a pick to create the room for a better Defence.
  23. I think Stetcher would be looking for the same type of money that would sign Tryamkin,. Good point.
  24. Your right about the KHL, this season played was the first ever the teams tried to work together and adopted the Team cap spending limits. And It’s nothing to compare to the NHL.. I beleive it converted to 13m usd per team. ( please correct me if I’m wrong). They cut 3 teams last season from the KHL because of poor revenues, and were going to cut another 3 I beleive. Good for them to convert 12 rinks (including Avtomobilist’s) to smaller surfaces.. but gate attendance is usually averaging 7000 seats per game. Yes, the KHL is going to be hurt greatly.. just as they were extending an olive branch with the NHL to honour contracts between the 2 leagues. Perhaps the only thing that might save them is to become in Europe, what the AHL is to NHL teams. Players there could be farmed with the ability to play in the NHL and go back freely. Less pressure for ice time availability for the abundance of talent throughout the World.
