  1. That’s up to Benning, who openly said 2 days ago that he wants him back. im sure Tryamkin can wait for the opening, let’s not forget, there is hockey to play in the NHL,. at least until free agency on July 1st. The KHL season was over April 30th as it was probably everywhere else in the World. ...and I don’t think NT is interested in going back to Avtomobilist, rumour was they treated him like S#/# trying to get him to re-up before he reached Free Agency.
  2. Perhaps Tanevs injury prowess was better because of Myers and Hughes.. QH buys so much ice time and can move the puck laterally quick. You get Tanev in a corner, and the trainers grab their gauze bags. Thats not to say Hughes can’t make anyone look stellar back there. Its sounded like JB is eager to have Rathbone available, who is cut from the same cloth as Hughes. i personally want to see Tanev move on, at possibly 5m per,. that money could be Tryamkin and either Rathbone or Rafferty on that 3rd line.. with better games played numbers that don’t affect the line up.
  3. I take it you haven’t watch him play over the last 3 years either?
  4. Too bad you didn’t watch him play over the last 3 years.. might have helped with those insecurities.
  5. Do you think Rathbone is ready for that? I was thinking at least half a season without the cage on in Utica.
  6. It was His ability to look after himself, and drop to the level of the pugilist if he had to. So many fond memories,.. was there ever a shift that didn’t have me to the edge of my seat in anticipation of something happening in a split second!? ! All in the dead puck era.. imagine that kid anticipating a long one off the boards at the Center line. Ive watch some old vid of Bure before he came to the NHL,. Podolzkin has the same tendency to skate to open ice with or without the puck.
  7. Yes, perhaps we sign and package him? I do like Stetchers ethic, he is skilled,. And he is far more physical than Tanev or even Edler. Perhaps he just needs the right partner? But Tanev at 5m? historically out for a third to half a season. The summer will be interesting and challenging.
  8. Once Green gains his personal confidence with him, options will open up. I do believe Green has a better relationship with Benning , than what WD had. By that I mean I don’t think WD listened to Bennings opinion on what he felt players were capable of doing if given the opportunity. And at that time of rebuilding, Desjardins only made moves because of injuries... how long we suffered through a troubled pp is proof. Nik’s prowess for watching his team mates was Boldened in his rookie year when Yakapov blindsided Shore.. Yakapov was lucky to turtle. with you here Hairy, Nik will be a top 2 pairing D man by the end of his next season in the NHL. Then Edler will move on, and hopefully within a Rafferty, Teves, Rathbone, Joulevi, Chatfeild, another lad can take a big step. This Summer will prove interesting too, If room can be made,. Perhaps a Petrangelo or Ristolianen can be grabbed also. ... I’m Curious to see if we try to move Demko,. Or risk losing him in the following Extorsion draft in 21-22
  9. I watched him play this season Fred.. 10 games,., he is faster, more mobile, leaves no gap.. offensive prowess,., more physically inclined and clocked a 102 mph shot in an all star game. JB has stated he wants him back.. it won’t be a matter of the Cap.. it will be who goes and who stays to fit Tryamkin in. i can not see us spending any more years with LEGO- Man Tanev.. im confident Nik is bolded on the board in Black Sharpie.
  10. It’s not the game,. But yes, a moment to Re-live..
  11. Did you not watch Tryamkin play in the NHL either Fred?
  12. Your bang on with Tanev,. He might take a top pairing with any top 2 d men. But his tendency to be injured messes up the pairings around him.. even if he signed for 3.5 - 4 m , I personally think it’s time to move on. Tryamkin has a lot to offer,. He IS a solid shut down D man, I beleive within the next season plays with us he will prove to be the Top 2 pairing D man we have sorely missed. Brings a totally different tool box than Tanev, but more effective. After the draft, where some trades will take place, I’m hoping to see Petrangelo, and / or Ristolianen become available as possible additions to the Canucks.
  13. Perhaps that is what’s really setting this timeline up,. Once we get to draft day and free agency it will be a fresh sheet.. but Vintages posts from twitter make it seems like Nik is penciled in with a fine point sharpie.
  14. I’m positive he will be with us next season Jimmy, and yes, I think Tryamkin is chomping to be in the NHL now.. and yes, perhaps he signs for a 2.5 - 3ish number to prove it.. this is a player with Longetivity in the game, more so now with having gone back to the KHL and mentally grow into that man size body to 25 yrs old , rather than have been at the opposite end of some pugilistic players in the NHL at 21 yrs. He knows this is the best league in the world,. And he wants to be the best he possibly can
  15. Thanks for correcting me .. I am thinking more of this next season when having NT on the Canucks, I still see moves created on the D core to make it stronger and more reliable.. I do not see a Tanev on this team next season. We lose Fantenburg, possibly Stetcher, possibly move Benn. Fanta and Tanev is aprx. 5.5 m. those moves allow a bump up for Stetcher, a signing for Tryamkin, and money for 2 D Men out of Utica to travel and work the 2 way deals. Rafferty and Joulevi, neither are getting any younger.
  16. I think in our round about ways we agree Theo
  17. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I beleive that 1 year deal puts him into free agency.. I would not want to see those offers,. He would be gone after 1 season.
  18. I wasn’t really looking for comparisons Jimmy, but rather Who is he better than on our team, at this moment. Better than : Fantenburg, Benn, Stetcher , and I know the flack comparing him against Tanev, but I do see him as a better Defenceman with a totally different tool box than CT. The last 3 to compare to are Hughes, Myers, Edler,. Hughes and Myers game are still rising while Edlers is diminishing. Tanev looking for 4- 4.5 and up next season and up will not work.. for either Management or player. Tryamkin at 3-3.5 will for a player that will give you 70- 82 games and keep the symmetry needed on D lines. Pair him with Hughes, or Stetcher, Pairing with Stetcher will allow Troy to up his game skill wise, Paired with Hughes and you will have a dynamic pairing that could be paired for years.
  19. Nik has openly stated he is done with his KHL team, also recently quoted by Goldobrin as saying he wants to be in Vancouver, and acknowledges the Cap situation, realizing it’s a timing issue before he gets to the Canucks. Genuinely, considering this Virus issue and how it is affecting all sports,. I can not see Tryamkin exiting Russia to travel through China, and enter Canada to play any part of this 19-20 season. Although I would be happy to be surprised. He was offered a 2m per contract by Benning when he left,. 3 years ago. His play has not diminished, his game is better, and better than some that we have on our D core presently. I’d say he is going to get 3- 3.5 for 2 years for the start of the 20-21 season. If by some chance he can sign and play for this season , i think it would be a 3 year, rated on that same amount. I can not see this season finishing, I can see the time better spent aligning the guidelines to a solid start for the 20-21 season. Germany is hopeful that they have a vaccine in human trials today. Paitence Is Virtuous in this matter. Lets remember hockey is physical contact, sweat, spit, water, blood, heavy breathing, bacteria ridden gear at every level of the game. The potential of a meat packing plant for problems. I personally have come to accept that this season is over. I’m not the doom and gloom type.. this is about problem solving,. And sometimes the best thing to do is just stop where it’s safe, and let the problem pass.
  20. Can’t be too concerned about that article considering there is no hockey .. and seriously, when will overseas travel resume, only to be quarantined again. Eriksson, Petersson, and others are all literally waiting for that ship to sail too. ps. Signing him to a contract for next season IS manageable though.
  21. Like wise Hairy,. I too want to see this season finished.. as much of an optimist I am.. “Murphy’s Law” is one to shed light on in this type of predicament,. Just too many variables and unknowns.. If the practice of patience is truly a virtue , it is one I would be grateful to look at in hindsight, and dwell on all of everything that could have gone wrong. Than to be wrong and wish we would have had a little more patience in this matter.
  22. ... does anyone know if players are getting fully paid or not? ... I despise the thought of LE walking in for another bonus cheque this Summer.
  23. You practically need the full size venues just to televise properly... I can’t see us finishing this season. Let it go unfinished and stand as its own monument in respect of Life and Life Lost.. Leave that portion of Silver bare and un-engraved where a Team and Names would have been placed. By July 1st Hockey should be gearing up for the start of September Camps. i would hate to see the pressure of finishing the 19-20 season become the deeper regret at a time where this entire Pandemic could become detrimentaly worse for any body, in any way over Entertainment and Sport. This comment is not only including players.. it’s everyone in its entire Buisness and Industry. What does or doesn't happen over the next 3 months holds the balance of the Following Season by 2 fingers.. as it does for so many others everywhere.
  24. ... and a month of community service at the Boston City Morgue.
  25. Seattle Expansion is 21-22 season.. otherwise that would be another debacle.. i think the ice integrity is a concern because of the amount of practices and games played daily on a limited amount of rinks. You can’t have 1 game a night on a single surface in Condensed Arena Usability.. Summer adds to the problem. Hypothetically, 4-5 arenas holding 2 games a day is 8-10 games per day.. 2 games per arena = incl. warm up / pregame / ice maintenance, a day is roughly 6-8 hrs of ice time . per arena. then teams would need practice time. .. 3 teams per day? = 2 hrs each practice ? that’s another 6 hrs of ice time per arena. Hypothetically .. 12 -14 hrs of continuous ice usage by professionals averaging 200 lbs and above average power. Expand on Arenas used to 10. ? Dial that in with Basketballs needs? I say pull pull the plug and address the draft / trade issues and CBA implications.. allow a few more buy outs so teams can reconstruct at both ends. Interesting times.
