  1. If this was any other player we might be talking “cancer in the room”. no body should feel sorry for Eriksson, he has been given opportunities with this club that others would die for.
  2. None of the GM,s you’ve stated before Benning, ever tore this team down to be rebuilt.. none of them actually had concern as to whom they were developing on a farm. This is , since this Teams inception to the NHL 50 years ago, the first time it has actually been in a building phase. I think Benning is formulating a franchise with a solid farm system that may soon have us in Cup runs for a decade or more,. At the same time establishing a Team in a city where players would love to come and play, regardless of the heavy road trips.
  3. I think Tanevs value is truly diminished from 2 or 3 seasons ago. since his appearance on me of the Team Canada’s, it’s a snowball headed for hell. Would have been nice when Buffalo wanted Tanev for EKane.. that was highly balked at. I still see a possibility of him going to Buffalo, with a pick, for Ristolianen. Buffalo fills a hole, gains a pick, and gets a million capspace,. On a team that is big where Tanev might be able to play healthy with longetivity. Close to Home for him with T.O. Just being across the Falls. At 24, there is a potential in Ristos game that was seen a couple of seasons ago,. I think it would come to surface again here. just my opinion.
  4. Somebody is needed to be in the role of keeping an eye out for EP.. his injuries , head and knee last season could easily as been career ending or altering. we have no one in this capacity. Even to have Lucic ready to hop over the boards on the line (2nd) following Pettersens line is worth it... but there is still a potential here for a “true home town boy” to bring his championship form to this club.. I’m pretty sure he has already stated that that would be the dream.
  5. Loui gets a bonus. Says it all. Personally I’d be to embarrassed and perhaps donate it to charity.
  6. Goldobin & Tanev for Burakovsky ? or save Tanev for a Defensive upgrade? while I got you here Old News, Dosent Luongos contract still have the ability to affect us at the most unopportuned time in the near future?
  7. I don’t think Eriksson could handle this new season playing like he has the last few.. media has been kind to him, . Fans here care about their team, and a player who should be able to amass 30-40 pts per season for the contract he signed, should be performing as such. I think LE’s latest comments about ice time, deployment, and Coach Green are Defensive, and a devising way to take the pressure off himself to be the same player, and throw his excuses on the ice before he actually la es them up. Sometimes they say, a man has to look in the mirror to find out where his bad days start. Benning himself, really has said nothing over the past few seasons to “protect “ LE.. and rightfully so.. I think in the “Art of War” it states.. if you can catch a man biting his tongue, there is an opportunity for him to lose it. ... or maybe I just made it up. Regardless, Benning has the upper hand on Eriksson, and a clear reason to react. Benning should not be scrutinized over the contract he gave to Eriksson.. Eriksson should be scrutinized more for how he has performed over his time here.. He has been given opportunities to succeed, and has not. How many years with the Sedins on the PP?
  8. Mathews gets EA Sports Cover.. .... and Marchand gets the Doritos Cover..
  9. I think Hamhuis was more “that” guy. Both Tanev and Edler are quiet.. even on the ice. Schenn seems to be more forthright in that role the short term he has had (so far) with us.. Gudbranson was more vocal.. The one’s that are more vocal ( and possibly physical) usually have that presence. i don’t see it in Alex,. But his mentor Ohlund was,. Even Salo.
  10. Don’t get me wrong.. I would like to see Edler hoist the Cup.. one way or the other. The ring of honour is nice.. but I’m sure champagne from The Holy Grail is better.
  11. From what I’ve been hearing (rumours).. Edler has changed his stance and a 3 year deal 5-5.5 per with virtually no clauses and full exposure in the extortion draft, has returned to JB. I do like that, given Edlers familiarity with this organization, and the fact he has never played for anyone else, and quite possibly his last contract, Alex is “paying it back” fairly, he has done well here.. and hopefully still.. this gives him the opportunity to hoist the Cup, where ever that may be. He is a good vet. i would just love to see a more physical presence on our D to support a resurrection in his game, and not HAVE to play 20 mins a night with that weight on his shoulders. He and Tanev have been targets for 3 years.. it’s a simple offensive strategy. I still like Risto. I too, like you, like Bogosian. Is Tanev and our 10th pick too much for Risto? Bogozian? I think it starts the phone calls back and forth.. Risto was an 8th overall, Tanev fills a hole for Buffalo in the short term, and they have the bodies to protect and compliment Tanevs true form we saw a couple of years back on one of the Team Canada’s. id like to think that after this season, we aren’t warranted a lottery pick for where we place in this league,. Not for a decade at least I think of Risto as I always looked at EKanes time there,. Does not really want to be in Buffalo. ps. Zaitsev might be having that same oppression in Toronto. Heard that that Tryamkins agent was on 1040 .. very positive of Nik’s return,. But more than likely Feb 2020 after the regular KHL season.
  12. Well we know Nik has been watching the Canucks,. Whether we see him in Vancouver in September, or February 2020.. I know we both look forward to watching this young man’s journey continue, and hopefully over a bit of time, to all of his potential.
  13. Tryamkin might be saving his opponents life by keeping those mitts on
  14. Hairy if Nik is able to find out he is going to go back into that rotational D that Avtomobilist had last season.. I just don’t think he will be happy about it. That’s a weak schedule of play for a kid, who in Diamonds words, wants to challenge against the NHL’s best.. Something an agent would want to bring up to his client I would think.
  15. If his home club understands this is going to happen, perhaps they try to mutually agree to his release sooner than later. They would recover aprx. 500k usd if he was allowed to buy himself out. That money goes a long way when the KHL Team Cap is 13.8 m usd.
  16. Sounds like he changed his stance,. Not like anyone twisted his arm or anything.. that great.
  17. Hopefully some one considers him an asset to trade for at the end of season. Now how about Tanev and a 2nd rounder for Risto.
  18. Edge? .. late this past season. the guy he rolls with about the same size as J Benn.. ps I wouldn’t drop my gloves these days either, why bust a knuckle or finger on a meathead.
  19. I’ll be honest , I haven’t seen Risto play a lot... but if he is getting that many assists regularly per season as a young Dman,. He needs the right pairing. I also do t think that Buffalos goaltending has been that great.
  20. Far from it Alf, his stats are very impressive for this part of his career,. We could only hope that our 10th overall pick this year could turn into a player like Risto. Risto is worth the 10th,. Maybe throw Tanev in that deal to help fill their hole if they need it,. It helps us by clearing 4.5m per for playing half seasons. Tanev might actually get to play his game in Buffalo,. They are a big club.
