I respectfully appreciate your thoughts R&H, But we can’t argue what the Blackhawks saw in D Keith. There are glimpses you get from players that give you their peak strengths, from what I understand, the idea is to watch a player for more consistently in those strengths.. and create more first plays than errors. Everyone has a different timeline to their peak game.. everyone has a different journey to get to the big game. A lot of talent never makes it. Real “Life” is a huge factor. I think Smyl is bang on with his words of assessment on Teves as provided by @Mo Grit .. “About Teves, Stan uses words like: new wave defencemen quick transition mental fortitude leader does all the right things consistent first pass high character coachable unreal work ethic doesn't take a shift off incredible drive first pass is excellent hard-nosed style and finally, offensive upside.” For those here just wanting to deal an AHL or NHL card on a new player as some high valued opinion, and offer nothing else other than negativity on other posters thoughts.. Keep Calm and Stay Redundant.

I saw Keith play in Penticton, and his NHL rookie year,. there are similarities at this stage (next year possibly being his first year in the NHL or AHL), Skating being one of them. That’s not “high level scouting opinion” . . its a fact.. Perhaps you need to read what Smly said about him.

Hope Schenn gets Re-signed by us.. and has a fantastic Summer fully refreshed..
-
PB.. this Teves is looking like a young cross between Bieksa/ D Keith.. I’m impressed
-
Watching Josh in the 3rd period against the Ducks.. kid reminds me of a quicker, young, dynamic D Keith.. and there is NOTHING wrong with that. He’s a beauty.. cheers JB! Allows almost 0 gap.
-
Schenn is a keeper.. resurrecting his career in these last few games with us.. Correct me if I’m wrong , but it was concussion issues that declined his play for him to recluse to the Minors?? Seems to be above water and clear , consistent hockey from Luke.

I didn’t think it was so hard for people to quit Canucks Army,. think I found the “How To” video.. please share.
-
CANUCKS ARMY!! LOL ..your buying your drugs off the street big fella to add: Tryamkin covered the Captaincy for an injured Nigel Dawes at the start of season. Tryamkin wore the A eversince.
-
No. He wasn’t. Had an injury. And His D core has been on a rotation everyone has taken time off to keep fresh this season. And it worked.
-
When was he “benched” in the KHL Rob? BTW I am a Gudbranson fan and had accolades for him before he was a Canuck.. I wanted him here.
-
Schenn is playing with some quick legs tonight against the Blue Jak’s... I’m liking his game, perhaps he is resurrecting himself in the last few games we have.. Hope Like likes Vancouver,. might be here longer than we think.
-
6m is a lot of money to pay Eriksson for his “characteristics” and being Petey’s BF.. But doubts he would go to bat for him. I seem to recall Tryamkin swatting Yakapov around like a Nat for running Drew Shore.
-
To add a russian coach of sorts... This makes a lot of sense.. I generally can not think that players from Russia are “problems”... but I definitely think there is a culture shock to North America, and unfortunately a language barrier for new or young players when they arrive.
-
I’m just happy to here Niks agent say that all possibilities exist, and that he does eye a return to the NHL. my fingers are crossed for sooner than later.. he is an exciting player, and he is a Canuck.

Some posters also need to eat “Humble Pie” and accept that some players walk with swagger..

SilentSam replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Bring back Nikita Tryamkin - memebership counts!'s Tryamkin talk
March 2019. Sportsnet 650: "Nikita had a solid season, the team in Russia performed extremely well in the KHL. His numbers were down, but his games shouldn't be defined by goals and assists." "I don't think he struggled. His ice time was a minute less than it was last year, but it was a deeper team. They were trying to accomplish a lot this year." "We discussed a return to the NHL not too recently. I believe there is interest for him to come back. He wasn't as mature as he is now. Hopefully, he will come back to the NHL shortly." "Nikita has a year remaining on his KHL contract, so a return this offseason would be hasty. However, Benning is in contact every few weeks/months." "Nikita can bring a dimension that many NHL clubs are missing. A mobiledefenseman who can intimidate and open space. He can make a number 1 defenseman's job a lot easier." "The player has improved, I don't think the condition that he will not play in the AHL has changed. He has shown that he can play at the NHL level. The AHL is not a factor in the conversation." -
I’m not comparing Hughes or Pettersens play to Tryamkins.. but you clearly you have “entitlement” issues with this player.. but you feel Hughes and Pettersen haven’t been offered the same as Tryamkin has been in the past? You want him to go to the AHL to prove a point that is meaningless.. Tryamkin is an NHL ready player. He has proved it.. sorry. Get over your cliche’ick old school hockey program Rob,. there’s holes in your game. It will be 2020 soon. Time to catch up. ps. This NHL Organization signed his contract and with all probability will be signing his next one.. So if your saying the Canucks are somewhat insane to sign him,. You might want to go over your program.
-
Quinn? Pettersen? Tryamkin has played in the NHL before.. proven. Offered another contract here above 2 m per... your not making sense Rob. still hurt?
-
This !! Is positive !! There is conversation, it is pragmatic .. this IS positive. “Nikita can bring a dimension that many NHL clubs are missing. A mobile defenseman who can intimidate and open space. He can make a number 1 defenseman's job a lot easier." that comment is why Tryamkin could be an excellent #2 / #3 D man.
-
Absolutely. Just feels like he has outgrown the KHL. Hope he realizes that, and his agent helps him see that. Hopefully we here from his agent that Nik is considering all of his options at this point or in the near future.. and the Canucks are in touch. But if Nik is generally unhappy, I agree the time to return could never be better with the Canucks D core right now.
-
Hopefully the North American boys in his room are supportive and are telling him to get his ass over here.
-
Sounds like possibly the “Putin Flu” in this one. Hope your right about Nik possibly being fed up after this season in the K. I think in our wildest dreams Nik would appear in Vancouver next week.. but like you say Hairy, maybe it’s all been an eye opener for him.
