Plays well on the PK,. wouldn't mind seeing him on the PP, in front of the net, he'd be sure to draw 2 Dmen and leave room to move for others.
-
Hopefully they spend time with him to find the optimum stick with manufactures (Edler should too!). Apparently Chara's twig is an incredible sight.. the thickness of the shaft is almost twice that of others to fit his hands. Im sure this is the same with Nik. .. Gonna love watching Nik come into his prime,. Starting to see that twinkle of a mean streak in his eye. Keep it up Nik!

Pretty sure from a selfish standpoint, Martin wanted out of the game asap and didn't want to answer to Gudbranson ... But instead of just playing hockey with the lead, he opted to "punk" out like Reilly and Kadri did. I think the Leafs play the Kings tonight.. I'm on night shift.. But that might be a game to watch,. No team will allow punks to thrive and perform in this league,. Hope Doughtey catches Kadri with his head down,. With or without the puck. I also hope Carter pastes the boards with Reilly butter. The "boy hood" is over for those two,. they will have to "man" up the rest of the year. Martin has his work cut out for failure.. and quite possibly the "love in" with the Leaf rookie squad is over.

If this ship is still sinking by the end of the month,. Does it really matter?
-
.. I would like to see him work on his edge and mean streak next Hairy,. Like Chara, it will give him more room for every aspect of his game.. Somebody please send Nik this Vid ..

Jeeeezusss... if he isn't in for one the back to back games, management should seriously question WD. thanks for the reply NBH!

Is Tryamkin in tonight?

Sorry Boudrias, but by all accounting rumours.. Landeskog and Kane might be the only power forwards at a decent age that might warrant a trade conversation with teams. .. and ones looking for a potentially solid D man. I see it as Tanev & our 2nd round pick (via CBJ). For Landeskog or Kane. I see Buffalo absorbing some of Kane's Cap hit for this risk.
-
Hi JR,. I forget where I got my numbers from but it was from one of the cap sites. i agree that Kaneis high risk, I agree that Tanev is worth a bit more, but here's my oversight.. Perhaps the Sabres absorb some of that contract because of the risk and the fact that Tanev's salary is less than Kane's. (I think that is a legitimate deal discussion). Tanev, apparently looks great to other teams nation-wide, but on this club I see him getting nailed hard every game, and a target for opponents because they can wear him out by the 3rd p. .. and we joke about Spisa's Pizza,. When on the corner Tanev has his own late night Take Out and Delivery Really though, I think Chris deserves a Team like Montreal. . His game would excel there. But I wonder who in return. As far as Kane goes, I think he has hit the wall and wants to grow up now.. I think he has something to prove... and NOT to sound racist at all,. But he has the potential to be the most prominent Black Athlete the NHL has ever seen. I have to support these young men who have had there woes in professional sports.. they have been void of real relationships in there adolescence, they leave home at 14yrs and trained to be adults at 15-16 yrs old. Life can be confusing. I see Kane on the same personal level as I do Kassian,. There is something to prove now.

Our capspace at roughly 325k makes it tough to acquire anyone without giving up something legit anyways. Miller off the books at season end 6m, but we have to re-sign Gudbranson. Hopefully the likes of Miller, Edler (ntc) and Tanev can find a good playoff team next spring It looks like Kane's court case is getting thrown out, was an article on SN that I was trying link here,. Judge basically told Kane to grow up. edit:. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/new-york-judge-dismiss-charges-sabres-kane/

In 2 years I can't see Edler or Tanev with us.. this past year we have lost many man-days to Edler and Tanev. Both seem susceptible to injury now, they may be our first line D, but they are the first targeted by power forwards now,. Their high TOI doesn't help matters,. mistakes are made playing past the 20mins they both easily consume night after night. Just my opinion, but I would be looking to move Tanev in a package for E. Kane. We need a power forward who can game change for the next 3-4 years.

Our future looks bright,. It's us fans that need to have patience. Our future Defence has amazing potential, although still a bit wet, from what I've seen of Gudbranson,Hutton, Tryamkin, Stetcher, Pedan, Jolevi, and Brisebois.. a fresh, multi tasking and assigned Defence is not too far away. .. but yes, a Stetcher Tryamkin pairing would be fun to watch.

Hey GB,. I don't think Nik was AS out of shape as everyone thinks. I really do think they have been working on his "edge". .. AND taking advantage of getting there hands on him to SHOW him what the Canucks expect. An athelete in average shape going on a "program" for 4 weeks will be flying over the boards to perform 12- 20 mins a game, and feel fantastic doing it. Playing in an anaerobic sport like hockey is tough,. But training is far tougher. I really hope we see Nik tonight. ... and hope he is given the time and opportunity to make mistakes and succeed as every other rookie we have..

I really think Kass was a tough desicion for JB,. thick skulls are hard to get through sometimes Alf Im not saying that with any disrespect to Zack , I am very happy that he has found the discipline to change things around for himself and stay in the game he loves. The short Habs stint was probably a big eye opener for him, actually injured himself physically.. sometimes when we draw our own blood, it opens the door to understanding our own mortality, and wakes us up from the immortal dream. JB was part of that process, and Zack is alive and well, I'm sure their relationship in this matter is a humbling one. We all have Soul Family,.

... some Fangs on that mouthpiece might even be more intimidating . Hope T88 can get in very soon to support the physical play on D that Big G is packing on his shoulders.. .. some one like Shattenkirk with Edler,.. would be nice too, but that's on the wish list. I was tired of watching C Tanev being targeted to hit night in and out last season, it's happening again. That situation has to change.

Elliotte Freidman wrote this earlier today about Tryamkin. Wish we had more professional journalists like him here Vancouver who report the facts and leave their personal opinions in-check so as not to distort situations, or start fires that burn team fan bases. Tired of the Grand Poohbahs of radio and paper alike thinking they can Captain a ship, let alone build one. Freidman reports these facts: With some time to make a few calls, here’s what I can glean on Vancouver defender Nikita Tryamkin. He has admitted he made a mistake by showing up out of shape. That disappointed the Canucks who were counting on him after he showed real promise in last season’s 13-game NHL debut. The club wanted him to stay in B.C. all summer, but he needed to go home for legitimate personal reasons. (Agent Mark Gandler declined to comment, saying only, he “doesn’t have a problem with how Vancouver is handling this” and didn’t want to inflame the situation.) Canucks' Tryamkin is like Chara version 2.0 There is an agreement in his contract that says he can go back to Russia if the Canucks want to send him to the AHL, and he remains steadfast on that point. GM Jim Benning did try to negotiate a deal with Tryamkin’s KHL club, that the player could go back as long as he’d return if Vancouver needed him, but that was a non-starter for Yekaterinburg. So, he’s practicing to get in shape. The one thing everyone seems to agree on is that the Canucks are going to need him and soon. They are already hurting on the blue line, and history shows they need 12 defencemen a year. 4. In a search for creative solutions, one agent suggested Vancouver asks Tryamkin to go to the AHL for a conditioning stint, with a promise that he will be in the NHL lineup on a certain date. He wondered if that would work.

Seriously folks, we're rolling well enough out of the gate for Jake to get Top mins, and Top Coaching with the Comets and Coach TG. Tthe way to look a Jakes situation is with huge optimism.. and the way to put it to him is by saying, "Jake, we see that you can play the game at this level, but you need, and we know you want minutes, Go to Utica, create the ferocious game we know you have, and get back here with that asap, because we are going to need you by Christmas . A few weeks with TG and the new Utica squad , will make a Titan out of JV.

Pp is thinking outside "the box" , new approach for each player on it.. I think it will work, it stretches the collapse for the shot from the side boards or middle point. . It's timing, and they're not to far off. At 265 I think Tryamkin skates very well,. I think they're knitting him a pair of Canadian "mitts" theyre harder to find when your a young man the size of John Scott. N/A hockey is different for Nikita, he can skate well, and handle the puck well, but don't think he was prepared for this level of aggression.. and I don't mean body checking,. I mean a mean streak to keep punks and pukes at bay.
-
It's my understanding that they have Nik on a "program" here in Vancouver... his last game played he was a bit surprised at some of the after whistle shenanigans.. that following day at practice, I believe I saw a pic of Gudbranson showing Nik some bare knuckle defence... I have a feeling management has Nik working hard, eating right, and training in ALL facets of the game that take place between and after the whistle. He will be better for it,. Look forward to seeing him in action soon.

He Blue Jays did not learn from last year,. They celebrated and partied after they beat Texas.. why? they still hadn't accomplished what they're main goal. Party hard, Lack discipline , lose focus, then lose, ... they deserved to. Hockey Players down play the Presidents Trophy, and Conference Championships, just to keep they're eyes on the prize. Lord Stanley. Gibbons should have kept the Jays under control. -
Can agree that the bigger part of the puzzle, we have already. Forwards or Defence men, a balance of Veteran presence is needed. Our forward group actually looks promising.. with Boeser, LaBate , Guance, Rodin, Zaliweski, Virtannen, all making positive improvements .. and our D now stacking in talent and tools with Juolevi, Stetcher, Tryamkin, Pedan, Larsen and Brisbousie, the real task is getting them dialing in at the right levels of hockey. The future is bright,. the only thing missing is that true power forward that we all hope Jake will be in 2-3 years. Only wish we could have "iced" Bertuzzi cryogenically in his prime I still think if Evander Kane becomes available, we make the play for him.. a player lLIKE him is all that's missing with this group right now. Benning has good reads on players as people, and athletes,. I think we can trust him to find something where others may not. I believe Benning may have scouted and Danton Heinen a few years ago. Played Junior B with the Richmond Sockeyes, Junior A with the Meritt Centenials, and NCAA with the Denver Pioneers. Heinen went in the 2nd round to the Bruins a couple of years ago. Nobody knows him,. but the kids a beauty. Benning has great vision, let's enjoy the journey with his group of Canucks.

We have a collection of youth on this team that I can not compare to any time in the Canucks history. Its nice to see that besides having the skill sets and tool boxes to play on the Canucks, each player has the potential to be much better than they are at this period in time. Add to that, the collection of depth and prospects we have... It's a bright future TP.
