[Signing] Canucks re-sign J.T. Miller
SilentSam replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
That was last week HSKR , I don’t condone a country club atmosphere, Shape up or ship out .. time to throw on a teddy or sumptin scanty -
I think it’s a lot of frustration boiling over for him. who wouldn’t be? the thing with keeping him is that there’s no one who plays as emotionally charged on the team who contributes in the way he does.… so who is left to carry that banner on behalf of mangers or coaches. Petey and Hughes are too young yet.. Thats the only reason, and the fact that Miller is articulate and a great speaker representing the Canucks pre and post games. Id like to see the C on him , eventually passed to EP, EP and Hughes do not need to deal with the media thugs in this town , they’ll rip them apart. Someone cross referenced Pavelskis career with JTs active career ( age wise) . it’s a pretty good comparison.. if we get that out of JT , he will be a hero in this city.

I get what people see and don’t see as negatives keeping JT,. But if you pull back , all of the players, not just, but including JT , have been in a soft culture , that has continued here for too long. It’s the landscape that needs to change, and that is what is happening,. Those that aren’t will to lead to that cause are also leaving. I see an imbalance that now is being corrected, Keeping Miller is helping Management change this culture. Letting Bo go was also a part of that change. I like Bo, but he was the right player of the 2 to move considering the TYPE of hockey management wants the team to play. I think once everyone is on that same page , a lot of those negative values associated with every player will lessen.. and guys will round out their personal strengths. Im almost positive JT will be moved in 3 or 4 years, not because of lack of play, but a proper turning point to gain good value for a player by way of attrition and better players surfacing from our own ranks. I do think they’ll keep him if we are CUP contenders inside 4 years though.

[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return
SilentSam replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I think that’s where it settles, if he returns here. Even if someone offered more , I don’t think they’ll go past a single year. But I think the familiarity of the Canucks and new russian contingent in players and D Coach in Gonchar,. Well let’s say that very much outweighs a dinner at Tommy Tomatoes Just to add, I spend a lot of time following the War in UKraine, and although Yekaterinburg is far away from the Uk / RuZ border,. Many there do not agree with what Putin is doing. and sanctions imposed are having a major effect on cities further away from Moscow first. @Hairy Kneel posted his team was playing well , but now seems to be on a huge losing skid. and consider this , he is paid in Rubles, supposedly in the 1m per season USD value. but the Ruble is becoming worthless. I hope he gets out. The guy he hits and then drops with is 6’ 5 and 225 Nik is 6 8” and 250 .. very above average skater , heads up , and a very respected shut down no nonsense D man with a 104 mph shot. -

Nice Legs !! Just know that I don’t say this to everyone on here -
The best way to avoid a disaster, is to stop bringing it from the past to the present. All of these changes should be looked at positively, because change brings new opportunities. I like what management has done this season.. Kuzmenko, Ilya, Bear , Dermott, Strudnicka, Beauville, a 1st, Raty , Karlsson in Abby with Podz and Hogz. D man Petterson is a gem. There’s a lot of positive moves for what we’ve given up . We aren’t the only team facing issues like we have.. but we are being as proactive as we can at a time that’s not going to hinder us coming out set for a new season.. and for that , maybe we’re ahead of the game. The Draft is an entity all its own,. It takes time for those picks to get a new trajectory going in their professional career.. sure there’s the “generational”s but that’s not every season. The next draft is supposed to be thick with talent, but still it’s hockey and anything can happen.

He never had a chance here with Willy Disneyland, and no Russian contingent / help. Gonchar, Kuzmenko, Ilya, Klimo, .. and other Coaches like Foote and Tochett who played the game physically. He might get the opportunity he really deserved. It’s all interesting.. I love your positivity though,. Your always bang on

@Crabcakes I found this clip of Raty interesting as well, This was the season just before the draft. The Year they draft is an important year to watch because they’re playing with their peers, and more importantly, should be showing all the qualities they “project” to be, as they repeat the process to the professional level. Most begin that new trajectory with a new team or franchise , whether in the NHL or not. I think Raty has all the qualities of a better pick than what he was, and it seems there may have been other set-backs to effect him. good skater , great shot, mobile, head is up. I think he is possibly our best forward prospect at this moment , and getting him to Abby is going to be great for them. espescially the teamates he’ll have in Podz Klimo, Hogz, Amman, and others . an interesting, or outstanding stat to note is that in 12 nhl games , he has taken 67 face offs , and has a 52% win average . that is impressive.

He’ll throw a set of pads on Tryamkin and I think that’s 88.8 % of the net covered -

We can have both or either .. let’s see what happens . I was excited for him and he played well for us in one full season. it’s just too bad management wasn’t prepared for him being an ONLY russian. They did well with Kuz getting here.. im hopeful to see a good spill over effect from this . -

He is done with the KHL. with what’s happening in RuZ .. Gonchar , Kuz , Mihkey , Podz, Klimo .. there is some impression that’s changed.. He was here by himself before, with a Coach that wouldn’t talk to him. -
