Absolutely, loving everything about this kid's game. Elite hockey IQ/vision, instant reactions, awesome hands, and the easygoing layback attitude of a pit bull going after a bone. And yes, JB's ability to provide a continuing series of players like Brock, Petey, Huggy and Hogs producing like stars while collecting ELC salaries ensures that the JB hating "realistic fans" will be fabricating pretexts to whine about him for years to come.
-
I predicted he would have a career year if he got to play with Petey. He had already demonstrated in Tampa that he was a point per game guy when he got top quality linemates.
-
I don't think it is really fair to expect total consistency right out of the gate from him or anybody else, especially with no training camp. His play is miles ahead of where Markie's was at his age. The only goalie we have ever had who will likely make the Hall of Fame was notorious for playing poorly at the beginning of most seasons.
-
Not quite that small, NHL stats has him at 5'11 and 185 lbs. But he is certainly not big. Don't know if I would actually want Petey trying that on a some big hulking Dman, but he thinks quickly enough to make the smart choice.
-
I don't know how well that would work against a full sized Dman, but it was definitely nice to see. And to watch over and over lol.

Yes, judging a hardworking two-way player or one who is a better playmaker than shooter, strictly on goal production is pretty stupid, and would be something like evaluating Henrik Sedin's or Manny Malhotra's careers solely on their goal totals. Not to mention that whining about his production while ignoring the context of his extremely limited icetime in the first half of last season is also either stupid or dishonest.
-
Yes, when he had to make a decision in the summer, there was no assurance that there would be any NHL season at all, while the KHL season was about to start. When you have a family to feed, you take the sure paycheque, rather than waiting and hoping for a bigger paycheque that might not come at all. Claiming that he made the choice because he doesn't want to come to Vancouver is just plain stupid. He will be wearing a Canucks uniform sometime this calendar year imo.

I don't entirely disagree with you, but I suspect that if I had 6'8, 260 lbs of muscle and bone Dman about to squash me, there is a decent chance that I would turn away too. Even if I had no intention of doing so, my body might be like "no, I don't want to die, get me out of here!"

Very stupid post. Have you heard of Covid? Have you been in a coma for the last year?
-
Yes, and I really don't see either Tram or his agent choosing to pass up on another year of NHL pay when he and his wife were apparently ready to come here if Covid hadn't messed up this season. I would love to be able to make enforceable bets with the posters who claim he won't be coming to Vancouver.
-
Could be worse, like almost any other type of cancer for example. Good luck to him.
-
Yeah, I put him on ignore when he demonstrated that he is so determined to crap all over various members of the Canucks organization that he is willing to be blatantly dishonest to do so.
-
I feel pretty much the same way, except I would use the word "expecting" rather than "hoping".

It's not nearly as wonderful as you might think. Most of the growth is in waist size.

Yes, some posters are so filled with hate that it just oozes out of each post. They are like blivets.

I remember now why I seldom venture into a PGT after the team loses. It's like walking through a leash-free doggy park that never gets cleaned. Everywhere you go you can't help stepping in crap. Enjoy it while you can, "realistic fans". Our top scorer is coming back and we won't be playing on the road forever.

So let's see. Jake is playing left wing, a position he has not played at all in recent years, if ever. He is playing with linemates he has not played with before. And while he was quite productive in the limited amount of time he played his normal RW position with Petey and JT, playing LW with Petey and Brock, trying to replace JT, he looked somewhat tentative and out of place. So when bumped up two lines, playing in a different position, with new linemates, he did not look like an instant superstar. That clearly means he must be worthless. Trading, waiving, or buying him out is much too good for him. He should be drawn, quartered, burned, and the ashes spread over a garbage dump.

Yes, an empty thread devoid of content. "Dog Bites Man". Details at 11.

According to what I have read, false positives are actually quite rare. Depending on which test is given and when the test is taken, false negatives are not unusual.

It really is. He is not an exceptionally bright kid, so it takes him time to learn. But all this crap about his whole career not showing anything, and how he is blowing his last chance, is nonsense. He has improved every year. He continues to become more versatile, might even be seen on the PK sometime this season, and has reached the point where his production is not that easy to replace. And yet even if he continues to improve this year, say from last year's 21 goal pace to a 25 goal pace, becomes another tiny bit more consistent, continues to to lead the team in takeaways and be among the team leaders in hits, there will still be an abundance of Jake hate.

Team doesn't want to send them across the border or they refuse to go, until Trump is gone?
