  1. Forget about maintaining this pace, he's not coasting, he's still accelerating. Wonder what he'll do next week?
  2. I have a feeling Benning had him ranked quite a bit higher than 33rd. I remember in that draft clip when JB said that Lind was still available, it sounded like he was a slam dunk at 33rd, obviously no discussion necessary.
  3. I certainly agree that replacing FTG with Goldy would substantially improve this forum. I'm sure Goldy would write better posts than FTG.
  4. Yeah, if he's only going to score 2 goals per game, the tying goal and the OT winner are pretty good goals to score.
  5. I suspect that logic is not your strong point, but have you ever wondered why Vancouver house prices are so high? Here's a hint: check any list of the worlds most livable cities.
  6. Yeah, time to trade him while we can still get something for him. His value right now is at an all time high. Lol.
  7. He made the jump from amateur to pro. It took him some weeks to adjust to the substantially increased quality of competition, after which he looked more and more like a star. If he did not meet your expectations, that would be because your expectations were completely unrealistic. You are certainly not speaking for "most of us".
  8. I'm sure JB would prefer to sign him this year, for the reasons you mentioned. And I believe your hope is correct; by taking the heat himself for the non-signing he avoids alienating Pettersson from the team and the fans. It's almost certainly Pettersson/his agent who refuses to sign now, because why would he want to sign now? What benefit would he get from signing this year?
  9. The bucks are bigger in the KHL right now? With $50/barrel oil and economic sanctions over Ukraine? Really? So how much is he making now? Do you have any actual facts that support that nonsense, or is this just your usual ridiculous fabrication?
  10. Yeah, my guess is he went back mainly to appease his young bride. Hopefully she has expensive tastes and eventually realizes that if she wants to live the really good life, Tram needs to play in the NHL.
  11. Yes, we almost certainly will, but as Sid points out, not likely this year. And thinking is good.
  12. I have a question for the posters who keep ragging on the kid. Are you really not able to distinguish the difference between "catch and release" and actually killing something? From all the ranting, it seems that you are not. It's rather a big difference to ignore.
  13. He says it was catch and release (ie: he did NOT kill them.) And he apologized. This is not remotely the same as killing an eagle or a gorilla. I don't see how any reasonable person could claim that it is.
  14. Yes, that was a terrible mistake last season to cut Stecher and bury him in the minors. Ruined his development and poisoned his relationship with the team. He and the team will probably never recover from that horrible blunder. Lol.
  15. Or they both develop into #1 goalies, as does Demko, and the Canucks end up with three #1 goalies. And they trade them all away and start all over again lol.
  16. Of course it will. Only an idiot would release information about ongoing negotiations, and I don't think JB, Bo or Bo's agent are idiots.
  17. Well, there certainly are some similarities. Smaller than average player, late round draft pick, comes to camp weighing about 180 lbs, very high skill level, ridiculously strong for his size. Those all fit both Bure and Palmu. If Petrus is determined to be another Bure, I support him.
  18. I agree with the part that you bolded, but would finish off the sentence with "...unless his offensive production is elite."
  19. When he first came to the Canucks he was only about 180. But you're right, he was extremely muscular.
  20. I did say more like he is this year's Laine, and as you know this year's draft crop wasn't as rich at the top end as it was Laine's year. My guess is that 25 goals will take the rookie goal lead this season. I don't really expect him to score that many, I expect him to score 15 to 20. But it wouldn't really surprise me either. I think Brock has as good a chance of doing that as do any of his competition.
  21. Well, if his skating improves as much as Bo's did, I think we should at least call the engraver and get him started practicing spelling Brock's name. Lol.
  22. Ok, fine. He will be in the running for the Calder. Lol.
  23. If he works on his skating this summer, and then continues where he left off last season, yes, he will be in the running for the Calder. Doesn't look like he has any McDavid or even any Matthews or Laine to compete with this season. More like he is this year's Laine that the other rookies will be competing with.
  24. One good thing about a shoulder injury is that he can still work on his cardio while the shoulder is still healing.
  25. Sounds like Gadjovich will be about 5 times as productive as Lucic. I could live with that.
