  1. Yeah, I'm pretty happy with Gaudette, but some posters have to find a pretext to put down some member of the Canucks organization in every post.
  2. That, along with the delusion that being obnoxiously negative about various members of the Canucks organization, on a Canucks fan website, makes them seem cool, clever and knowledgeable. And one (more) of them just put me on ignore. Oh, the horror. Whatever will I do? Lol.
  3. Right...you are a big fan of this team. You just feel that JB was dumb to pick OJ, and WD ruins our rookies. Like the way he ruined Bo, Baer, Granny, Hutton, Tram, Stecher, etc.
  4. You can state any kind of sleazy nonsensical opinion you want about MT on the Canucks, since we will never know what would have happened. We WILL see what happens with OJ though. Thanks for trolling. Always room for more hate for members of the Canucks organization.
  5. Yeah, it would sure be a shame if OJ followed in the footsteps of Bo, Baer, Granny, Hutton, Tram, Stecher, etc., one more rookie ruined by WD.
  6. His track record shows that he is superior at evaluating and projecting the future career trajectories of young talent. It is just more noticeable on later round picks. There is enough focus on first round picks that any CDC armchair GM could probably do nearly as well there as the average GM, by just perusing Central Scouting and the other lists. You know, the vaunted "consensus" picks. The same does not apply to the later round, lower probability picks. It is there that his ability is more noticeable.
  7. Considering JB's track record, more than likely they will.
  8. Pretty sure Truck was talking about the many, many complaints on CDC after the trade. A lot of posters apparently felt Shink had elite potential and Granny was a waste of bench space. It was a staple of the JB haters' platforms for a while.
  9. I see a lot of talk about BPA. As if "best" is objective and measurable. It is not. Jake was clearly not the most skilled player available, which was why many of us wanted Ehlers or Nylander. But if the most skilled player available is 5'4" and 125 lbs., is he the "best" player? Maybe, but not very likely. Obviously, other factors come into play. I would suggest that "best" player available is often a somewhat subjective term, based at least partly on a given team's situation. "Best" means most valuable to the team. It might be the player who is the most skilled. Or it might be the player who best meets a pressing need of the team, or it might be the player with the highest trade value. Those could be 3 different players. Obviously JB felt that Jake was the most valuable player available to the Canucks. And given the way the Canucks have been bullied, especially in the playoffs, by both the other teams and the refs, I wouldn't say he definitely made the wrong choice. Time will tell. But it certainly hasn't spoken yet.
  10. Not to mention the fact that unless the market changes dramatically, a surplus of quality Dmen is really easy to rectify in the trade market.
  11. No, it's not a zero percent chance, but it's probably less than a one percent chance. Certainly not something worth worrying about.
  12. Not to mention that Bo's agenda would of course be the opposite of all the posters who want to lock him up before he finishes what looks like a very productive year. Signing as cheaply as possible is probably not at the very top of his priorities.
  13. Thanks for the highlights. It does make a nice break from posters ranting on about how this kid is a bust. He sure didn't look like a bust this weekend.
  14. I can hardly wait to see how AwfulD explains how Jake is really garbage and how Green doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. Seems like a lot of the haters here are unaware of how he's playing right now.
  15. We know that the highly skilled centre he normally plays with is out of the lineup. Is that really not sufficient to explain why a sniper's production is down? What do you want, a notarized statement from Brock?
  16. Now that's the kind of thing I like to hear!
  17. I agree that Utica has been the best place for Jake this year. But I believe that it is the situation there that is more suitable for his development, rather than the coach. It would be the same even if the coaches were switched. Development of young players is a much bigger part of the farm team's coaches job than it is of the NHL coaches. When that was WD's job, he did great. That's why NHL teams wanted to hire him. But now he is an NHL coach, who needs to win a decent number of games or he has no job. The same does not apply to the farm team coach, whose job security is based more on his ability to develop prospects than on his win/loss record.
  18. It's true that I shouldn't have responded to your post which had nothing to do with Virtanen, and was just one more "I hate Willie" post, which apparently are ok to post in any thread.
  19. You are implying that WD doesn't have the respect of his players. Do you have some actual Information that shows this?
  20. Speaking of class, it was awfully nice of Price to let Kesler's son score on him.
  21. Looks like maybe Jake is tired of working down on the farm for peanuts, and is trying to send a message to JB that he's ready to come home and he promises that he will be a good boy. If he keeps this play up, he'll get his wish, probably sooner rather than later.
  22. Beauty move. Looks a lot like Jake's steal last night down on the farm.
  23. When one of the Canucks fans expresses a legitimate, reasonable opinion, and you choose to belittle it because you like to be obnoxious, what exactly do you expect to happen?
  24. I don't really disagree (I think, you might want to edit your post to make it clearer what you think). Certainly, the expansion draft, trades and injuries will all affect how much room there is in the lineup. But the bottom line is that, as is almost always the case, it will be up to the player. If he comes in to training camp and looks like Stecher did this year, chances are he will be on the team. If he looks more like Larsen, probably not.
