  1. I hear ya, but here's the argument: Draisaitl, Pastrnak, Nylander, they have all PROVEN they are top line forwards. If Virtanen scored for a few games consecutively do you really think he wouldn't get moved up the lineup?
  2. Hmm, ok, make the graph bud. It's all about taking stats and trending them over a period of time. Through trending you can see an upward trend in Teuro and a downward trend with Yak as of last year but he is having a good year again this year, they are both showing positive development this year while Teuro has been able to improve year over year. Jake's trend-line started off hot and like Yak has went down and back up this season. This indicates a setback last year and positive development this year. Trending works and tells a story, as I have already said. You can't argue against math, it's math. Even without trending and looking directly at p/gp of the 2014 draft class (looking at forwards): Draisaitl - .73 Pastrnak - .73 Nylander - .7 Ehlers - .66 Larkin - .54 Reinhart - .52 Virtanen - .22 Paints a pretty accurate picture. I would say that's almost exactly the order of development.
  3. Not at all what happened, at no point was i schooled in any discussion with you. In fact my point stands that Teuro and Yak are furthering their development this year and their p/gp this season is proof. Thus proving my point. Make a graph, plot the points, draw a line, see for yourself. I'm not making things up, it's literally math. Clear as day. i don't know what to say to you further than that.
  4. p/gp was the argument. using that simple form of division we can see that both of them are on an upward trend AKA developing.
  5. At least that would make this topic relevant again.
  6. This topic. Does it really need to be pinned anymore?
  7. I'm sure he's a lock for the team next year, never said anything about the 1st line.
  8. It would be nothing but a waste of time for the Canucks and Pettersson. The guy is proving himself now, he doesn't need to play meaningless games in Utica when he can come to the Canucks next year and perform on the big squad. This guy is legit.
  9. Very true, JB might be able to secure him for a long time at a low cost similar to Burrows. It really all depends on how Jake finishes off the year. If he can figure out how to pick those corners he is going to get a lot of goals.
  10. Honestly watch him play and you'll understand. He'll never make it in the show.
  11. He had a good shot of being drafted but after the WHL playoffs last year a lot of teams lost interest. I watched every game of theirs during the playoffs and he was invisible. He has great IQ but has a weak shot and despite his size he can't hit or out muscle anyone. If he figures out the physical part of his game he'll be good but there's a good reason he wasn't drafted.
  12. I watch a lot of Swift Current Bronco hockey and I can definitely say that Steenburgen is benefiting from Hepo and Gawdin. That line is WAY better than anyone else in the WHL right now. As far as his abilities on his own, he surprises with his ability to deke, protect the puck, and take quality shots from any angle. Most of his goals right now are coming from wicked passes from Heponiemi while he finds an opening in front of the net. Their line is exactly what people talk about when they say they have players with different skillsets that compliment one another. Heponiemi is fancy, dangles and can always make space. Gawdin is more of a 2 way power forward and centres the line. Steenburgen is a fast shooter. Keep in mind that the Broncos beat out the MJ Warriors and were up 3-0 on the Regina Pats last year's playoffs. Those were two of the top teams in the WHL. They did it mainly with scoring from these 3 against guys that were 1st round picks, they can play. I honestly can't say whether Lind is a better prospect yet as I haven't seen him play, but in my opinion those 3 are the best players in the WHL right now.
  13. So, is Yakupov further ahead in his development than Teravainen?
  14. What is the second best league in your eyes? Almost everyone is agrees that it is the KHL except for you so I'm quite curious.
  15. He proved plenty last year. Have fun under your rock.
  16. The difference is Tryamkin showed he can do it in the NHL and they didn't. So, let's not say silly things that are irrelevant.
  17. Put them all on a line together.
  18. I think Tryamkin's point with Goldy was that when a player starts to show confidence and success, that should be encouraged so that they can flourish. He isn't wrong, in my opinion anyway. Now did Goldy deserve to make the team out of camp? No. Why? Because Boeser and Virtanen scored and played hard game after game and every time they showed success, they were given more opportunities to succeed. Thus proving Tryamkin's point (in a backwards way).
  19. They will obviously be given some grace, probably 3 bad games in a row would result in a demotion. That would bring up Goldobin or Rodin. I understand where you are coming from but the other argument is now the Canucks players have a NEED to elevate their game as there is a ton of pushback from the Comets players.
