I have a lot of friends doing the same job as you . the container port here in p.r. just had its 10th year some of my buds have moved up to d and c board and theres only 1 day off for them a week, they just finished an expansion to the dock and yard and there going to do a 3rd phase expansion, which means there probly going to give out more numbers at the hall, since theres starting to get to the point that some of these guys need some time off. needless to say they are making big bucks .

@MJDDawg I have to reset my sleep cycle for work Tuesday morning. Going to try to stay awake as long as I can. Probably a pretty early night for me though!

I used to defend Green, but it’s getting harder for me to do that. The systems that are currently in place do not suit the offensive players on this team, and our defensive systems are even worse. No more collapsing and giving the opposition so much time and space. We get destroyed 5v5 playing such a passive defensive system.
To me Benning has put together a good team on paper. I don’t think he is the problem (He won’t be on the hot seat unless we miss the playoffs next season imo).
It is up to the coaching staff and ultimately the players to execute. I think they need a new (and more experienced) voice behind the bench, and to employ an offensive strategy based on puck possession to be successful.
In my opinion, Benning should let Green, Brown, and Baumgardner go. Bring in an experienced head coach and let him pick his staff, but retain Manny and Ian Clark.
I think the players have lost all confidence in our systems. This team needs a shakeup in the worst way. We can still salvage this season if we act before it’s too late. As soon as the holiday roster freeze is over, pull the trigger Jim. Your team needs it.

Goose may be adept at polishing turds, but I'd rather see Baumer fired before Green.
It's not like I have a vendetta, I just havent liked the fact we don't break out as a group. The most glaring indictment on Baumer is the goddam 5v5 collapse / passive box bull$&!# own zone shenanigans. Arrrfgg
Holy &^@#ing hell, it's like they're allergic to the puck in their own &^@#ing zone. "Stay away boys, don't get close to it unless it's on the boards! It might explode!"

Wife and I went for Ultrasound yesterday and SURPRISE. We are having TWINS!
We have a 2 year old son already so our family is jumping from 1 child to 3. We are both very excited and terrified at the same time.
We are keeping it low key for a few more weeks before telling everyone but I needed to tell someone.
Figured my CDC Family would be a good place to freak out anonymously.

My work day usually consists of: 50% CDC, 30% Talking to Coworkers, 10% Breaks, 10% Actually working hard to make up for the other 90% of the day I spent slacking...

Our Twins were born this morning. A Boy and a Girl. Both happy and healthy!

At long last, a “Dark mode” CDC theme finally exists! Props to @SNuck. Our retinas thank you sir!

@luckylager what did you reno?
-
I opened up my attic, replaced some rafters, added more. Sistered the floor joists.. stairs.. all said and done we added 2 br and a common area to the house.
But it's not dark mode. Lots of white makes the 6'8 peak height seem higher.
It's a full floor for the kids. Thats all that really matters.

Hoping for another big win tonight for my birthday! Go Canucks Go!

I also like Yak and think he could turn it around. He is a talented kid who just needs proper coaching and development. Would be worth trading for as a project. Could provide our much needed secondary scoring.
That being said, I wouldn't give up much for him as his value is at an all time low.
As I said in my proposal a couple weeks ago, I would do Sbisa for Yak. Throw in a pick if needed. I think Edmonton would do it. They need D.

Wife and I just had a 3D Ultrasound. We are going to be having a baby Boy!!!

Since so many of you are too lazy to Google, Draft Lotto is 4pm on CBC. Now stop trying to use the post box like a search engine.

It's amazing to me how many people on this forum are willing to make excuses for everything Benning does. He could shoot someone in the street and his sympathizers would say that it was the best move available at the time.

You're welcome.
Hamhuis aside, it's quite simple really. The 'yard sale 7' is just that. A bunch of dime a dozen players. Every team has them, and no contending GM is going to shell out picks for them unless he is in dire need of a player with a very specific skill set. And I use skill loosely.
I like most of those guys, but that isn't to say they aren't replaceable by us, or that other teams don't already their doppelgangers on their own roster.
Lastly, Vrbata. Poor sucker. Terrible year for all kinds of snakebite reasons. I actually like him, but damn. Look at his playoff history and ask yourself why you would, as a contending GM, take him as opposed to a guy like Ladd or Versteek. Unfortunately, it's a no brainer.
-
Maybe. What we don't know is where he was willing to waive to go. Perhaps if he was willing to go to an eastern team for a 7th then sure, but what if he only had west coast teams on his NTC list and none of them were interested?
Rumours had him offering a list of 8 teams. Assuming he had a combo of contenders and not-so-much on his list, well contenders would have no room for him, and not-so-much would have no need for him.

Eklund Rumour (huge grain of salt), Tavares planning on meeting with Canucks before UFA.
Here is the quote:
Quote“Tavares and Vancouver...
Was just told by a source that Tavares has planned to visit with Vancouver during his five day window leading up to July 1. This doesn't mean he is going to sign there, but it is perhaps most interesting because this is the first team I have heard mentioned in a "Tavares visit" which implies Tavares DOES plan to let this go to July 1 and visit teams.."This is most likely just click bait so I won’t bother to make a proper thread or post the link here to generate revenue for his site. You know where Hockey Buzz is if you want to find it.
What are your thoughts on this if you were to take a HUGE leap here and assume this rumour had any truth to it? Would you sign him?

The link is broken on my side. Anyway, the problem with Eklund is that he throws a bunch of rumours at big market teams like Vancouver and Montreal ALL the time, for no other reason than to attract fans of that market to look at his site. I will admit that he has cracked some rumours, but if you look at his track record, he has missed far more than he has hit. The ones that he has reported as E5 are usually the ones he reports after someone else has reported it.
Look here to see how 'reputable' your precious Eklund is:
-
Y'all are a bunch of Goofs!
-
Just saw Willie Desjardins and his wife at the Level 400 Encore Club at Rogers Arena for the Eric Church concert tonight. This is one helluva Season Ticket Holder perk!
-
Vancouver is such a fickle fan base. Top of the world when we win and the sky is falling when we lose. It’s an 82 game season people. Chill.

The things is ,we care how this team plays.Like most Canadian citys we live and die with our hockey teams.
The Canucks have never won the Stanley Cup and we are all hoping for that to become a reality and bring the Cup back home to Canada.it's been too long.
Canuck fans around the globe will just love our team winning our first Stanley Cup,and all of B.C. will be very happy as well.
-
we all care about how the canucks play but those of us that understand hockey, know that the team will win some and lose some games. some will be good games, some will be stinkers. it is the fans who freak out at every loss and preach, changing up the line up or the coaching staff. they state that the coaching staff don’t know jack about coaching. criticizing is what we do, but some fans go off the deep end.

@smithers joe Well said.

Omg. I've cast a gaze at thousands of bottles of whisky / whiskey and never even realized American's opted for a more complicated way to spell something! Highly unusual.
My whiskey choices change with the seasons, and have for years: Bourbon late spring and summer, Scotch once it starts getting damp and cold and then Irish in the spring.
Full on weirdo over here.

The knee-jerk panic on this board after a few losses never ceases to amaze me. Pure comedy

@Dazzle I think after over 50 years of failure, Canucks fans have the right to complain about as much as we want. It’s a hard life

@naslund.is.king Yeah I don’t know why the game inflated his potential by so much. But I sure as hell took advantage.

@Phil_314 A fake player that EA created that I drafted and developed. And yes, I got assets for all of the players that you mentioned (mostly picks). #assetmanagement
Stretcher is my 7th Dman (scratched/not shown).
And what @-AJ- said about Hughes is unfortunately correct. Also the game doesn’t have Kole Lind for whatever reason (error?)

Supposed Insider says, "Hudler's agent is now in Vancouver. Sources say its a 1year 2.5million deal."
Not sure on the credibility of this guy but thought I'd pass it along.

Japan is producing some nice scotch, might be inexpensive there.
Had Nika a while ago, it's really nice. $100 bottle here but just might be a lot less in Japan
