Christine Sinclair not taking that penalty today is one of the biggest "Are you kidding me?" moments in sports history. Its like pinch hitting for Ted Williams or taking Michael Jordan off the court on the final possession.

meh. The women's team has a ton of talent and should be a force for years to come. They brought a young team to the tournament.
The mens team has a legitimate chance to qualify for the World Cup this cycle. For anyone in CONCACAF not named Mexico, that is as much as you can hope for. Guys like Davies, David, Atiba Hutchinson, Milan Borjan and Arfield are as good as you get in terms of quality in the region (mexico being the exception).

I agree with @ReggieBush on this one. Sinclair is the leader of the team. All the other players gain confidence and strength from her presence. She’s on the field. There is no conversation. She walks over, picks up the ball, places it on the spit, and shoots it into the back of the net. Those other players must have been shocked at Sinclair’s lack of leadership in this circumstance.
I bet our coach was equally shocked that his leader and star player didn’t grab the ball and go take the penalty. I doubt it even crosses a coach’s mind that their star would defer like that.
