  1. Bro. Kawhi 2-1 in Finals. LeBron, 3-6. Highest winning percentage in NBA history. 2 NBA Finals MVP's. NBA record for 30+ point games in a postseason run (and he actually won the ship, unlike lebron). Elevates his game efficiently in the playoffs. And is literally the greatest perimeter defender ever. He has the clutch gene too. There is no way on the god given earth that the lakers go further than the clippers.
  2. Again. I called it months ago. LAC or resigning in the 6. Honestly im cool with this scenario. Raps get a Ship. Kawhi improves his legacy. He goes to a team with no history. PG13 who is a star and 100% deserves a ring will have a great shot to get one. Oh, and LeBron won't win ****. Kawhi > Lebron

What I don't get is whether all of these moves are freeing up cap space for them for Marner...

  5. Tyler Skaggs passed away. I feel like he was discussed in this thread a few weeks ago. RIP and my prayers go out to his family
  6. Looking forward to week 1!
  7. Christine Sinclair not taking that penalty today is one of the biggest "Are you kidding me?" moments in sports history. Its like pinch hitting for Ted Williams or taking Michael Jordan off the court on the final possession.

Really though the same thing could have happened to Sinclair. It was a well taken PK - it was headed for the side netting which is exactly where you want to put it. The Swedish goalie made a great save.

meh. The women's team has a ton of talent and should be a force for years to come. They brought a young team to the tournament.

The mens team has a legitimate chance to qualify for the World Cup this cycle. For anyone in CONCACAF not named Mexico, that is as much as you can hope for. Guys like Davies, David, Atiba Hutchinson, Milan Borjan and Arfield are as good as you get in terms of quality in the region (mexico being the exception).

I agree with @ReggieBush on this one.  Sinclair is the leader of the team.  All the other players gain confidence and strength from her presence.  She’s on the field.  There is no conversation.  She walks over, picks up the ball, places it on the spit, and shoots it into the back of the net.  Those other players must have been shocked at Sinclair’s lack of leadership in this circumstance.

I bet our coach was equally shocked that his leader and star player didn’t grab the ball and go take the penalty.  I doubt it even crosses a coach’s mind that their star would defer like that.

  8. Goose has 1 60 point season in his career. Anything north of 5 is pushing it for me.
  9. Forgot about Baer. Could slot in nicely alongside Gaudette and Virtanen maybe
  10. First pro season. Lets see how he comes along in his second year.
  11. I could see a scenario where the canucks wanted to move the 2nd next year opposed to this year due to the draft being here.
  12. Vasili already has a sick nick name "Pot-goalz-in"
  13. I personally believe the following, and I was getting these vibes from the media circles after the draft. Canucks wanted Zegras, Detroit had their sites on Seider (obviously). I think the asking price for the canucks to move up was too high.
  14. Predictions for the next 2 weeks.

Virtanen, Baer, 2020 1st (lottery protected), and 3 2019 3rd for Barrie and 2019 5th. Barrie extends next week.

    Canucks take Boldy at 10

Canucks sign Ferland at 5 years 30 million.

Sign Burakovsky at 3 years 11.5 million

  15. Thats basically what I said. I was like "There is no way on the god given earth that I would do that"
  16. On that note, I was at the NHL media event yesterday and were talking with the Buffalo social media team, and they think that for Risto to be moved, Bo would have to go the other way.
  17. They play different sides. I can almost guarantee there will be games (if we acquire Barrie) that we will have Petey, Brock, Quinn, and Barrie on the ice together.
  18. I like JV. But we can sign Ferland in F/A (and I think it would make sense), and I think in adding Barrie and Hughes (plus not really losing anything significant from our team last year), we are a playoff team in this division/conference so that pick would be a mid/late first.
  19. I agree. Adding Barrie and Hughes to the defense makes us a playoff team imo.
  20. Barrie at 8 million>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gardiner at 7
  21. I don't mean to rub it in, but it is absolutely insane to me that the NYY are 20 games above .500 before July without having a healthy Judge or Stanton. Meh. I feel like Skaggs is more of a Riley Sheahan.
  22. Nasty lineup, especially with Judge/Stanton getting healthy, and Gary Sanchez playing actual baseball this year. Clint for Stro and we are set
