  1. Sorry, I thought this was an MLB thread with emphasis on the Jays. I am not only a Yankee fan but a baseball nut in general so if this will be an issue then I will make an MLB General thread. I mean after the wildcard game there won't be any jays news to talk about.
  2. That's funny. I said the same thing when Tex hit that bomb tonight. Minus the "im kidding" part of course
  3. Great pitching from layne getting out of the jam that Dellin put us in yet again, he has been a great pick up. Despite us not making the playoffs (barring a miracle), it was great to show fight in the ninth and will bode well for us in the future.
  4. Clippard . Sigh. I guess that's what we get for moving chapman and miller.
  5. Legitimately upset and sad about the passing of Jose Fernandez. I was lucky enough to see one of his last starts against the Mets in August. Truly an outstanding talent. Sometimes life isn't fair, but the man upstairs has a plan for all of us. Deepest condolences to Jose's family, including his pregnant wife and grandmother whom he had a special bond with http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/dan-le-batard/article1953259.html http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/11/jose-fernandezs-reunion-with-his-cuban-grandmother-will-make-you-cry RIP Jose
  6. Absolutely f****** gutted. Ref calls PI on a ball that sails 8 yards over the receivers head on 3rd and 10. I swear to god the PAC12 has the worst god damn officials. Then on a 3rd and 15, when you have two of the best cover corners in the country you run zone?! I like Clancy P as a D coordinator, but FFS man this is one of the reasons why sark let you go 2 years ago you can't make the right play calls in the clutch situations. I haven't been this gutted by an ending like this in some time. Like seriously, we are a premier program in CFB, in a recruiting hotbed, and we have excellent facilities. We are 1-3, IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. We are USC, Winners of 11 NC's. Nobody in the west even comes close. And we are consistently losing 3,4,5 games a year. It cannot happen. F****** Brutal I have been a fan since I was 4 years old. I have seen the great teams, and players. Hell, I am even trying to do a semester abroad there(Who has the money to go their full time as an international student). Tbh this is worse than the sanction years because at least those teams played with passion, grit, and drive. This team lacks so many things, one of which is leadership. You know what the most frustrating thing is? This is the most talented team we have had since 2005. I like the staff too. But the hammer has to come down. Something has to be done. I know this post is mainly negative but there were some positives today like the play of Darnold, Davis, the OL had their best game of the year. The great team's finish and which has sadly not been a theme of recent trojan teams.
  7. Idk about other programs but where I played we would have Monday film and weights, 2 pad practices a week (Tues, Wed), Helmet only on Thursday, walkthrough Friday. Which if you ask me is fine in terms of full contact. Helmet only practices where thud. In terms of tackling and taking a hit, we had 40 minute fundamentals periods on all three days of real practice. I played Tail and a little corner so I can confidently say that we spent ample time on the basics.
  8. It's always tough to beat ND in South Bend, no matter how good they in a given year. It is a quality win, UW has yet to have one. On a side note, despite being a diehard SC fan, to see a game at ND is on my bucket list.
  9. Balo is back baby!!!! 4 goals already quadrupling his goal total at Liverpool. Would LOVE to see him and Belotti as the two strikers against Spain in WC qualifiers.
  10. When your cousin goes to Stanford and she's been bragging all night about beating SC, and the thing is you can't say anything because the Cardinal are winning. That and she is getting a degree from stanford and will probably make more money than I will. F*** I hate Stanford.
  11. The 9th inning of the Bosox-yankee game literally makes me sick. For as good Dellin is, he gets in trouble a little bit too much for my liking. Tonight he cost us a big game. Losing to your rival is bad enough, losing in that fashion is gut wrenching. F*** the redsox.
  12. Oh no don't get me wrong they are a good team, but the are still very young, especially at key ball handling positions, if browning and gaskin stay for their senior years I could definitely see them competing for the NC in 2019. Peterson knows how to build a successful, stable, and respectful program.
  13. I played against their star tailback in my Jr. year of HS, everytime he sees him on tv he always makes a point of saying that he had a 4 yard TFL against him . I still see the Dawgs losing at least 3 games if not more this year, including 1 to my trojans.
  14. Decent game from the gunners. Start was awful and opsina did fantastic keeping us in it. Giroud is a dumb@$$, like calm the f down you hurt your team when you do $*** like that. The announcer made me laugh , he made a bigger deal about arsenal losing giroud then he did about PSG losing Verratti. Verratti runs PSG, he is what makes them tick. His influence from the midfield is perhaps only rivaled by Iniesta and Modric. He is that good. Edit: If Iwobi wants to stay in the lineup he has to finish those chances. I like him a lot, but in games against europe's best he HAS TO FINISH.
  15. I was at both Pospisil's and Milos' matches. Vasek's serve let him down big time. He should have won the first set he was the better player. It went downhill from there. As for Milos he was playing well till he got hurt. And yes he got hurt. Wrist and Calf. He couldn't move to his right. TBH I wanted him to walk over so that the american fans and harrison wouldn't have the satisfaction of a true victory.
  16. THIS. Boy that Bama-SC game was f****** BRUTAL. What killed us at least early on was little mistakes. Against a well oiled machine in alabama you cannot afford to have these lapses in concentration on 3rd down. IDK what the punter was doing either, play to the god damn whistle and make a play for christ sakes. Disappointed that Juju didn't get more targets, I guess I will have to get used to Max spreading the ball opposed to cody forcing it to Juju. At the end of the day it is the best time to lose, regroup next week beat USU and get ready to smash stanford in the damn mouth the week after that Fight On Baby!
  17. He hit .250 in the World Series with more K's than hits. For how much he is making he should be performing a hell of a lot better than that in the most important playoff series of his life.
  18. The difference between Jeter and A-Rod is that Jeter was a winner. He would do whatever it took to get the W for the Yankees. ARod as much as he wanted to win, was more me first opposed to Team first, and could never come through when it mattered most. I agree completely with the bottom bolded. Pete Rose is the second best hitter of all time (behind Ichiro). He was another player that gave everything he had on the diamond (The didnt call him Charlie Hustle for nothing). Yes he did somethings that he probably should not have done, but what he did on the field completely warrants a HOF spot.
  19. Never played with CC, but I did get to watch Rashaun practice everyday as a wide eyed 9th grader. The catches he made in practice were incredible, for the high school level at least. Everybody is making a big deal about Chase Claypool from Abbotsford, Simonise was more polished out of HS imo at least. Not the athlete that Claypool is, but has a better understanding of the route tree and has better hands. I think(hopes) he will stick with the bengals.
  20. ha ha literally two, funny. Jeter is my guy though, I couldn't give damn about arod jokes. While we are on that topic however, Where do you guys think he will go down when we talk about the best of all time. It's too bad he took PED for that one season, because he truly was a generational talent and imo is among the best all round players of all time (when he was in his prime)
  21. Vancouver's own Rashaun Simonise made this first catch in the NFL this past week. Vancouver College churns out 2 NFL'ers in 2 years, hope he sticks would be great for football in canada, especially in the vancouver area if he can have a sustained NFL career Bengals Keith Wenning finds Rashaun Simonise for big gain - NFL.com
