  1. He looks like he's still learning what he can and can't do in the league. He threw a pretty decent hit last game which is a good sign he's getting more comfortable. It would be nice to see him put up a point or two in has last game, but his puck skills and smarts are evident. He's just a little unlucky right now. He does need to get stronger, so a good Summer should hopefully help him a lot. He might spend some time in Utica next year, but I'd imagine the majority will be with the Canucks
  2. Isn't Ben coming up on 100 games without a goal or something, I don't get the infatuation with him. So he can skate the puck out of the zone, so could Bartkowski.
  3. Senators Bailey - Huberdeau [A] - Boeser [A] Foligno - Lowry - Simmonds Carr - Nielsen - Clutterbuck Pyatt - Smith - Kassian Hickey - Ristolainen [C] Greene - Green Postma - Weber Greiss Montoya
  4. Elias feeling it today, 2 assists so far with 12 mins left in the third, and his second was just gorgeous
  5. Vaxjo has taken a ton of penalties this game and it's really limited EP's ice time to about just under 12 mins. That said apart from the first, he played a good game, creating chances at even strength, and was even the net front presence on a couple shifts! ended the game with an assist
  6. Yup, he's been more involved in the second and had a nice give an go, but it seems like most of the passes he's receiving are off the mark and he has to get them off his feet so theres not much he can do with it
  7. Elias had a pretty quiet first, didn't hear his name mentioned too often. Then at the end of the first Vaxjo got a PP and he went to work, he was being covered like Ovechkin usually is but did a good job getting the puck to the open man. Would have had an assist on a goal with a little more luck
  8. Fair enough, but even in 2011 the only good defensive prospect we had was Edler, who was already 24, and Tanev who barely played. You have to assume they are eventually going to start going for it, and either get lucky with picks, or fill their gaps on defence, ala Hamhuis and Ehrhoff.
  9. Man I wish I could just time travel 3 years in the future To be able to watch a 26 year old Horvat lead Boeser, Pettersson, Gaudette plus our first from this year, not to mention the likes of Lind etc etc. There is going to be a very wide window to win this cup, not like when we only had 3-4 years from 2009 on
  10. He’s got another game left in the regular season too lol, really not leaving anything to chance I wonder if his coach gives him the next game off now that’s he has the record to rest before their playoffs?
  11. That 2nd round pick was a pretty high price at the time of the trade, but in hindsight, it was good value. I don't think you get a first back for him, but something like a 2nd and a 4th or 5th would be pretty good value back for him.
  12. Is there really a need for him to go back to Sweden next year? He's already proved he's the best player in the league, at just 19. Maybe he goes back next year and get 60 or so points instead of the 50 or so he'll get this year. While thats great it's just confirming what we already know. The coach is absolutely protecting his own interests, just as Gaudette's will, by saying another year in college won't hurt. Get EP in North America and just let him learn even if its a year in the AHL
  13. Pettersson has an assist through 1 period so far in just 5 minutes. Vaxjo winning their game 3 - 0 so far.
  14. I personally don't hate the man for anything. He wanted to win more than anyone on the team thats indisputable. Sure he only wanted to go to one team, but it was to do with winning the cup, not chasing the dollars. Respect him a hell of a lot more than the old timers who ride off into the sunset chasing every last dollar they can make even though they haven't won yet.
  15. Nashville - Tampa is the dream finals this year

Good chance that is the Finals. 2 ridiculously tough and talented teams.   I think TB is a bit over rated though they can really get streaky and forget how to play D.  NSH has shown some nastiness along the way and you need that to win in this league.

West really seems a step above this year with the Preds and Blues, there’s Tampa in the east and then a little bit of a drop off

  16. Not quite Hansen bad but still slugging it
  17. He really looks like Mason Raymond did out there, and not in a good way.
  18. EP getting a lot more ice already this period, just drew a penalty too
  19. Scores! Pettersson pops one in early in the third with a nice wrist shot bar down
  20. Seems like he barely got any ice in the first, and his line was hemmed in a couple times the few shifts he was out there. Not really an opportunity to do much
  21. All that proves is not to put to much stock into a 2 week tournament, where kids who have played together minimally, are forced into an extremely high pressure situation. Hodgson and Schroeder did great in those. Boeser did not and Pettersson has not so far. His SHL numbers are something to behold regardless of if he goes pointless at the WJC
  22. Im not a fan of a team in Quebec. In fact I'd have zero interest in that. Much happier they're hopefully going to Seattle
