  1. Losing the draft lottery was a blessing in disguise. I'm stoked about this kid! We finally got a sniper in Brock and Elias can dish the puck which will be a lethal combination. Well done Jim.
  2. I got it on good word that Kole has mono. Probably kiss world juniors goodbye.
  3. Strange. Lind didn't give any indication in his radio interview the other day anything was wrong.
  4. Kole Lind out of the lineup tonight against Lethbridge. Not sure what's happening! Must of hurt something in practice.
  5. I'm not sure I would make that swap but at the same time maybe Glass was drafted a little high. He shot up the rankings over the course of his draft year and maybe he was slightly over rated. I'm very happy we chose Petterson over Glass forsure. Another thing is I believe if the draft was done all over again today many teams would select Lind in the first round and possibly top 15-20.
  6. What a great first period by Lind. I live in Kelowna and watch most games and I just happen to be in Moose Jaw for the game tonight. I have seats right on the glass at the top of the circle where Kole sniped from and man is that a laser. Interestingly enough I was sitting in almost identical seats when Lind and the Rockets demolished Portland a few weeks ago and in that game Kole sniped one from the circle too. Kids got an NHL release. I'm extremely excited about his career trajectory right now.
  7. I was at the game and I thought Kole was outstanding. What really stands out for me his is skating and even though it's not the fastest it's a really smooth stride that changes gears effortlessly. His passing and shooting are equally good and should serve him well at the pro level. Didn't shy away from the physical side either as at the end of the first he flipped the puck up high on a Winterhawk and he got into with Glass and held his own. All around it was a nice treat to watch tonight.
  8. Lind and Glass got into it with each other. I'm at the game and I think this is one of the best periods of hockey I've Kole play.
  9. Listening to Trevs comments they were obviously extremely high on Kole Lind and in one of the interviews it also seemed that they suggested that there was an attempt to move into the middle of the first round which would lead me to think they also liked Foote. Two great players out of Kelowna so I'm glad we got one anyways!
  10. Nolan would be a sweet pickup. Kids got superstar written all over him.
  11. If we trade down to get Foote I'll support the move
  12. Yes Makar or Glass will be available! Get it done Jim! Absolutely don't want Vilardi.
  13. Please please draft either Makar or Glass at 5 and get another pick in the first round and draft Foote. I'll be thrilled if that happens!
  14. Nobody knows if it will translate though, otherwise it would be a no brainer. The guy played high school, I'm not saying he will or won't but we cannot have a 3 OA pick bust.
  15. I go to all the Kelowna Rockets games and we play Portland in round 2 so I'm interested in getting my own read on Cody Glass throughout a whole series. Cal Foote will likely be matched up with him alot too so I'll be keeping my eye on things.
  16. Exactly. He'll still have a place and a role in our lineup it might not be a first line player in the end but it's good to have different types of players and maybe even we draft someone who complements Jake's skillset. I still want time to play itself out.
  17. I'm not ready to write off Jake yet. He has a really good skill set and power forwards take longer to develop. Bertuzzi took like 6-7 years after he was drafted to score more then 10 goals in the NHL. Just because a kid isn't ready at 18 19 20 doesn't mean he is a bust.
  18. Also D take along time. You can pluck an 18 year old forward in the lineup but it's an entirely different story on defence. An 18 year old kid on the backend doesn't have the strength to handle the big power forwards in this league.
  19. If we draft top 2 I think it leaves no doubt we have to draft Nolan or Nico but after that you could conceivably pick on need because really picks 3 through 8 or 9 are really a crapshoot. I like the Juolevi pick also and if we drafted a couple more dmen we wouldn't have pressure on one player to make our defence great. They could develop together even maybe down in Utica and then we can bring a core along that can help us.
  20. Which I would love if I was a GM. Everything in the top 10 this year feels like it could be boom or bust. You make a case for and against on everyone of them. At least JB comes from a scouting background so you try and just trust on what he is doing.
  21. Foote just seems like a no brainer somehow someway I want that too happen. Kelowna is D factory, he's got a coach that played alot of years in the NHL as a defencemen, his dad speaks for itself and he can go to him for advice everyday. The guy has size, skill, physical like you said he may elite but you'll appreciate him for alot of years.
  22. Obviously were going to pick BPA but I really hope we can come out of this draft with 2 dmen with top 4 potential. If we don't this team could be in for a 6 or 7 year rebuild. Unless a generational talent comes in I don't think drafting forwards are going to turn this team around in 2-3 years. Defencemen take time to develop and that where we should be starting our foundation. We have a solid goaltending prospect with Demko and maybe then in a few years we can get draft some skill up front that can take chances knowing that we can keep the puck out of our net. If we just throw a forward in the mix from this year's draft I don't think we get much better from a team stand point. I don't want to make the same mistakes Edmonton made.
