I've never really been a big baseball fan, I played as a kid, but never fancied spending half a day watching a game. But with the Canucks not going anywhere soon I figured I would give it another shot this year since the Blue Jays are supposed to be good and it looks like it's going to be a long offseason for the team. Who are some players that I should watch out for during this season?

I like Desi, he's entertaining as long as you don't take what he says seriously. I think he will score 25-30 goals in his prime, but he needs to work on his skating

It seems like Hutton has hit a plateau. He doesn't seem as involved in the offensive zone as he was a couple of weeks ago.

I seem to bring up one poster, but from what I can tell there were at least 5 who made posts that didn't contribute anything to the thread.

Gaunce was second overall in the OHL draft, that doesn't mean anything. I would be careful demening Konency a top 6 forwards. IMO he is a 3rd line centre with 2nd line upside. As for "He is the type of player you need to win a cup" you are out to lunch with that statement

I find Boeser an interesting prospect, not because for his skill set but because of the posibilities. He is over a PPG in his Freshman year at UND which is good on it's own, but he is also +21 which is 3rd best on the team. During the WJC he proved that he could play a role and play if effectively. Sure his 1 goal (could have had another but hit the cross bar) and 2 assist weren't overly impressive and he looked a bit slow out there but he could also be another Jake Virtanen in that he isn't NHL ready but is too good for Junior/the NCAA. That being said IF he signs a contract Boeser would be able to play in the AHL next year. Which IMO is going to be a very real possibility. He has a pro body, a pro game, and a pro shot the only thing he needs to work on is his skating. He could start in a 3rd line role with the Comets and work his way up the lineup as the season progresses. Very interested in seeing what Benning decides to do with Boeser, my guess would be he goes back to UND next year though. I would think some of his production has to do with him playing with Schmaltz and Cagguila but from what I have seen most of his goals are for him creating a chance and burying it. Also he as another assist today, to extend his point streak to 13 games

Probably a 90% chance he does. We have a spot waiting for him in Utica and he doesn't really have much to prove in college hockey
