  1. loved men at work , but really likin his solo career too.
  2. oh I see, so they want to have 440 ships a year so that they can ship most of it to California ,
  3. you do have a problem with context, I stated that the Hecate strait (HAIDA GWAII EAST COAST ) was top 3 worst bodies of water globally , west coast haida Gwaii worse, do you even know international shipping routes? ,I suppose you think once an aframax tanker clears juan de fuca it heads due west, NOT!
  4. not all opposition is in vancouver ,here in Rupert with all the LNG proposals the housing prices are going up because of them.
  5. inside and outside of Canada? apparently your not very familiar with the BC coast line Hecate strait (inside) west coast haida Gwaii (outside) does the pic of mv northstar look like a passenger ship to you? . this coast freighter plys the coast 4 time's a month seattle to ak.with everything ,fuel included . previous in one of your posts you said oil sloshing around , NO any ship/boat hauling liquids ,water oil fuel , what ever, would be loaded right to the hatchs ,to avoid '''sloshing around" tankers have an overflow for expansion , this applys right down to a seiner with a brine cooling system or even a crab boat, liquids DONT slosh around on a ship/ boat.,
  6. jan 2018 but but it cant happen cause radar telemetry...…………….
  7. recently...mv north star electrical issues in high seas adrift off the coast of haida Gwaii. its a new ship ,state of the art , with a crew of 27 familiar with the BC coastline ,weather etc, unlike foriegn registered tankers with a crew unfamiliar with bc's north coast Hecate strait (inside) which is in the top 3 worst bodies of water (storm's) on earth. worse on the outer coast of haida Gwaii.
  8. who's talking about radar telemetry? i'm talking about what the ship is carrying. maybe you missed my point . if a coastal passenger ship can hit an island and sink (human error)
  9. WRONG the most precious cargo a ship can carry is passengers, thats not about money.
  10. this is NOT propaganda , this happened in valdez , and could potentially happen again, if a ship carrying the most precious cargo can slam into an island and sink(QUEEN OF THE NORTH) then its entirely within the realm of possibility that an aframax tanker can do the same, maybe not under the same set of circumstance's but nautically speaking there is no such thing as zero risk, once its left its tether to tugs, it doesn't head due west it parallels our coastline all the way to the aluetian is. on its own within our 200 mile limit with still no responsibility towards clean cost be nailed down. (see recent court ruling) ships 7 fold increase impact. oh and then there was the little consultation thingy, that doesnt change the opposition.
  11. YA and those ship guyz eat real weird stuff too, rant over lol
  12. but dirty oil is in the national interest right ? your statement prove's why BCer's aren't going to be bent over for douch bag notley and her little hissy fit threats, because you share an attitude towards BC that doesn't lend itself very well with a co-operative approach, how Albertan of you!
  13. add over fishing ,commercial, sports ,aboriginal sectors , ocean, river, stream temperatures , stream levels dropping , mining ,logging , incidence like mount polley which left Hazeltine creek, polley lake and Quesnel lake NO chance at recovery , sediment with HIGH levels of copper, iron, manganese, arsenic, silver, selenium and vanadium. for what ever reason the seal population on the north coast hasn't exploded like it has on the south coast , but the northern transient pods (biggs) are heathy comparatively, they also target seals more so than the salmon reliant southern resident orca's. which for anybody who doesn't know or care (avg Albertan) isn't doing very good. but hey 440 more ships annually (880 return trips) shouldn't be a problem, because adding MORE ship traffic is totally the answer , after all they are just killer whales and salmon , unless its a mad cow disease, it doesn't matter. how did we as a country do without exporting DIRTY oil for so long, and now apparently we cant move forward without this imposition????????????
  14. my best buddie in who I go back as far as 6 years old played played pro basketball in England for crystal palace at same time I was pursuing hockey (jocks) ,so we both had high asperations of ourselves as did my bro with his hot rodding ,wrenching career ,didn't really see much desire or goal focus in my bro's kids and friends, I do have a tendency of picking a young persons brain that way,, ,actually I brought bill up to terrace in may when smithers joe was there getting his eyes done , the 3 of us went for dinner at white spot ,they got along pretty good ,
  15. my brothers kids and their friends my bro is a HD mechanic , pretty technical guy
  16. tuned in , tuned out I dont know I cant really relate to them ,comparitive to how I related to adults at their age ,,in a group setting , one on one their a little better ,it seems like not a whole lot of attention span , maybe its me being a highways foreman changed me with my expectation level of people in general.
  17. having lived in van (Burnaby) twice ,and seeing how my brothers kids interact , the generational gap is different in the north ,almost non existant in comparison.
