  1. Either way alf I don’t believe miller or horvat could sustain the points total to the term both players expected out of either ones contract. So you can defend signing miller first all you want. But realistically is either player playing into their mid 30s going to sustain that pace?
  2. Jr admitted to shopping miller before he signed him ,said there wasn’t anything he’d consider. At that point he still had a year and a half to sign him. It’s not like they were going to lose miller. Much like JRs hasty slip of the tongue every time he opens his mouth. In hindsite the signing was recklessly hasty.
  3. Bo didn’t want to stick around for the retool. And ended up in a lousier stituation. He left for the money. It wouldn’t have mattered what jr offered. If he signs in ny for what would/ could have been on the table here. Then I’m not going to miss bo horvat. Enjoy your time in Elmont New York on a worse team
  4. When Zachs father J.P. Parise played for Minnesota most pronounced Parise exactly how it’s spelled pa-ree-say
  5. The fact remains that he battled through it. However he wasn’t battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma so some slack can be given to Lemieux but thats all I give him
  6. 94 team was stacked defensively. In comparison it seemed they could slot in a spare if they had to ,whereas 2011 were decimated. And the argument is there. That winning teams stay healthy or at least healthier than the opponent. If comparison is to properly be made of the 2 teams ,both teams would have to be totally healthy. If comparison is made off the 2 teams as healthy as they were at the time they played then 94 hands down, both heathy ?
  7. Winning teams have to stay healthy or rather the healthiest team is more likely to win. A similar comparison would be if Lemieux stayed healthy he would have caught Gretzky. And that’s a strawman. Gretzky had as many points as he did because he did stay healthy.
  8. Lafayette after almost coming through for the nux and then signing with the rags after I hated ,but interestingly Brian noonan signed with the nux.
  9. The 2011 series never had a lafeyette moment which at that moment made the whole series swing. 1 single moment. In that regard the 94 team was closer than the 2011. But that’s just 1 moment. The nux were in all 7 games for 60 minutes each game. Whereas the same can’t be said for the 2011 group.
  10. There probibly wouldn’t even be the comparison if at any other point the nux won it all. So a comparison of the better of the 2 best examples Is all we have.
  11. How many 2011 supporters weren’t even born or were old enough to understand and follow the 94 team. Not saying all but there has to be a certain percentage.
  12. I would think millers more tradable with BO off the market than having to compete with interested teams vying for a player of millers money/ term/ ability
  13. Go With 3 A s. For the balance , Myers , OEL , Miller possibly more are all potential tradable players use the balance remaining to further evaluate players going players staying and whose worthy of the “C”
  14. In the one interview I saw he not only knew he was going to report to Abby but showed nothing but positivity. He must be pretty confident knowing his future both in ny but seemingly much happier about it being vancity.
  15. It was a joke it’s what Phil and I do. Relax deb there’s only portions of his game I don’t like and with the arrival of tochett and BOs departure I think/ hope that miller does accept the challenge of leadership. It’s obvious he wants it I also believe his desire for leadership is the very reason he came in the first place as well as resigning ,having lesser roles in his previous teams , there has to be a reason why an American player looks to be and plays for a Canadian team with as much passion as he’s shown , it’s rare to see. If anyone can mentor Miller into that role there’s no better guy than tochett.
  16. I know how partial you are to “ Finn “ but it leaves wondering about your Canuck loyalty no worry’s I’m a closet flyers fan.
  17. The isles acquired a “right now” player. The Canucks acquired players with “hope for the future” retaining horvat still has hope attached to it ,questioning just exactly how sustainable this scoring pace continues before he falls back into reality. The isles had/have scoring problems , and one would” hope” that our new players getting out of that scoring doldrum and coming into a team that isn’t having as much scoring problems as the isles that there could be an upswing in goals. The trade addresses everything JR said he wanted a reclamation player ,a prospect and a pick. I’m still going to miss horvat and continue to hate millers contract. Hope is all we ever had either way. I hope the isles do good enough for us to get this yrs pick. I hope the canucks get bedard and hope there’s a good player at 13 oa. HOPE.
