  1. One of those players that will be a great pick in the 20s. A few elite aspects to game for sure. But yes a little scary to select if you want certainty.
  2. Honestly I would say none. I can’t see a world where either of those 2 aren’t taken 2nd and 3rd. Yes Will Smith is excellent and is fantastic prospect. I just can’t justify him going ahead of the others. He’s the best of the rest. Certainly better than the next crop. 4 has the easiest decision in the draft.
  3. It would be pretty insane if they did. Fantilli and Carlsson are in a class do their own imo.
  4. Why? I’m curious what makes you think that. Please don’t say “just a hunch”
  5. So by your logic we should forget first round picks let alone high first round picks? Your argument is a tad silly.
  6. Plus no gm with their right mind would do that. Including Alvin.
  7. Yes and quite honestly I don’t expect those players to be there at 19. Take one of them and call it a day. Someone will fall who should have been a top 10 pick.
  8. Exactly and he’s not lazy. IQ is one of if not the most important skill to possess. Give me a prospect who thinks the game well and wants to improve. The fact he’s right handed and skates like hell makes it an obvious choice. Willander also would be an excellent choice. I hope we don’t overthink this.
  9. If it’s for the purpose of offloading a contract I feel like Boeser or Garland have enough value that we could attach one of our thirds to get it done rather than trading down our first. A tad too rich IMO.
  10. There aren’t any rumours. It’s just an idea that media has proposed. Considering the quality of players falls off decently from 11 to 19 and the Canucks can draft a player that can make the lineup in a couple years. I don’t see why they don’t just keep their pick at 11. Draft ASP, Benson, Moore or Reinbacher and call it a day. All great choices.
  11. I mean a lot of players who end up on 3rd and 4th lines are skilled players when they are drafted. The skilled ones have the IQ and drive to adapt their game. I get your point though.
  12. Lekkerimaki was bpa. Hardly swinging for the fences. Just logical. Lane Hutson would be swinging for the fences from our pick.
  13. I’m not arguing that. That’s exactly what I’m saying. I deduced you were upset at the ranking and that we weren’t going to get a player you had in mind because of where they were placed. anyway lots of good talent to fall at 11
  14. At this point Hoglnder has taken huge strides in the AHL. I think a swap between the two maybe with a 3rd round pick would get it done. Laf is on the verge of bust status. He’s shown nothing. Not fast, mediocre shot, not the best checker. Exactly what kind of player is he…
  15. Rankings aren’t the same as a mock draft. Anything can happen. Ex: Moritz Seider
  16. I doubt sharks don’t take Smith and I don’t see why Arizona doesn’t take a D-man. I think Mich is there for Philly/ Caps.
  17. Garland can also carry a line when playing on the 3rd. He’s a tad expensive but gives 3 lines that have a threat to score. I agree trade Boeser, teams will always attempt to get that rookie season magic out of him. His point totals make him enticing despite barely passing the eye test.
  18. I’m fine with one of ASP or Willander. TW has something about him that just says steady second pairing. I think that and the fact he is going to develop in the NCAA makes him. Great choice. You can’t deny the skating and skills of ASP though. We will get a great player 100%.
  19. Shouldn’t he be a LW as he’s a right shot?
  20. Why are we changing the definitions of staple words that have been used as they are forever… did someone get offended again?
  21. Both can play PK and skate way better than Gadj. Pretty easy decision IMO. Gadj was exciting but still a long way to go before becoming an everyday NHL’r
  22. The other guys are playing PK because they have the tools to play that style. Gadj clearly doesn’t. His skating has improved but is still not great. Guys like Lockwood, DiGi and Rathbone can skate circles and have much better instinct. It’s not like they did try him on the PK before throwing him on waivers. He’s one dimensional and our roster is too deep.
