  1. Oh come on. That's never goalie interference. Ridiculous.
  2. Would have much preferred Ajax to go through. Probably 4 English teams in the Europa League and Champions League finals.
  3. Or Dembélé puts the fourth one in at the end of the first leg. Worst player on the pitch yesterday was Jordi Alba, not Messi.
  4. This and the sudden change of pace in the plot is what irks me about this season (and the one before). How earlier on Jon travels from Dragonstone to north of the wall back to Winterfell and back to Dragonstone or in this episode Euron from King's Landing to the Iron Isles and back within mere minutes is just not fitting for GoT, imho.
  5. I mean, I really like Clark. But that's a LOT to give up for him.
  6. Probably a lot of predictions destroyed immediately with this and the Pen's sweep. Personally, I'd like the Isles to win the cup with two Germans on the roster plus you've got to admit Lehner winning it after all he's been through would be a great story. But I could live with the Jets or maybe even the Caps as well. Just not Toronto, Calgary or Vegas.
  7. Ajax! Bloody fantastic! Great football, young players and the underdog wins. Fantastic evening! (also, I do love me some sad Ronaldo )
  8. Thomas Eichin crossed sports a couple of times. He was a professional football (soccer) player in Germany. Later he was the GM of German hockey club Kölner Haie and he was quite successful there. Then he returned to football as a sporting director of German club Werder Bremen which didn't turn out that well. But concerning Krueger: I don't think Benning is done here. I like his drafting and he hasn't been terrible with extensions. Yes, some questionable trades and FA contracts, but nothing horrible (well maybe Eriksson's contract). Don't think Krueger would come with a guarantee in making those things better.
  9. Got up out of bed. Checked the scores. 3-0 Vegas. Ok, I'll put on the Jets game. Last 30 seconds there. Saw a goal. Checked the score again. 3-3. Bonkers.
  10. Was already 5-0 when he came on, so Kovac might have been in a mood to try something. Or it's just Kovac being weird. Which wouldn't surprise me either.
  11. Alphonso Davies just scored his first Bundesliga goal against Mainz for a 6-0 lead. He's playing as a left back today. Classic Bayern match where the opponent just laid flat and let Bayern steamroll them. Pathetic. Wish that would happen to us that often.
  12. While we're at this topic... http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/cristiano-ronaldo-new-documents-emerge-in-rape-allegations-a-1241349.html 'It Was Rough' New Documents Emerge in Ronaldo Rape Allegations Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make his fans happy on the field. Off of it, however, things aren't looking so bright: A woman has accused him of raping her in 2009, and there is an extremely sensitive document that supports her story. His lawyers say it is a fabrication. Is it? By DER SPIEGEL Staff
  13. I don't particularly like PSG but they were by far the better team over two legs. Football can be f***ing cruel sometimes.
  14. Additional time in the first half of today's game in Nuremberg. Ref awards a corner to Dortmund. Suddenly the Nuremberg fans start to throw little soft black balls on to the pitch, which they have done twice in that game before (in protest against Monday games in the Bundesliga). As a result the referee blows the whistle for half time without giving Dortmund the chance to execute the corner. So, all this time watching football we fans were able to end a game? Just by throwing a couple of balls onto the pitch? Great. From now on I'm going to do that every time we have a lead! That was already a terribly officiated match without even considering that scene. But I have never seen something like that in my life. What on earth was he thinking?
  15. Has been called up according to OHL Twitter account
  16. Don't think it'll be too hard for you to get him on a permanent deal in the summer if he likes it in Glasgow. Favre certainly has absolutely no use for him (I think he has been in a match roster this season only once or twice despite Schmelzer missing a lot of games). For Toljan it's just about being a consistent defender. He does fine offensively but the occasional brain fart in defence does happen a little too often for the liking of most BVB fans.
  17. @Scottish⑦Canuck Good luck with your new bhoy Jerry Toljan!
  18. Davies made his first Bundesliga appearance today. Got subbed on in the 86th minute for Kingsley Coman.
  19. I think that's a very generalising statement to make. You are right that there are incidents in European football where the UEFA or some national associations haven't done a good enough job of punishing fans or players who made racist remarks etc. We haven't had an incident in Germany where a whole group of fans made racist remarks towards a player in I don't even know how long. Judging by the media that happens mostly in Italy (think there was an incident in England recently, though). I know for example my club Borussia Dortmund is doing everything they can to eradicate right wing extremists from our stands. The city of Dortmund has a bit of a history with those people and in the northern part of the city still has problems with neo nazis and such. So did the club up until the late 80s (maybe you'll find something if you google 'Borussenfront'). Since then they have handed out hundreds of bans, dissolved multiple right winged fan groups and cooperated with the police to single out those individuals to identify them and have them arrested. They started a fan project and employ multiple social workers nowadays to prevent right wing extremism in the city and the stands. And we are far from being the only club in Germany doing something like that. I don't think that there is evidence that would suggest that there is systemic racism from refs towards African players for example.
  20. And what does that have to do with the decision of the referee?
