I was lucky enough to be part of the Südtribüne today. What a day. Paco with 6 goals in just 83 minutes of playing time in the Bundesliga. 6 goals. And the best part is, we have a 26m € option included in that deal. I would pay thrice that and still consider that a good deal. -

Nevada police has already re-opened the investigations in this case. Last 30 minutes were a little bit of a Klopp-era revival. Sancho this season with 1 goal and 5 assists in 124 minutes. Paco with 3 goals in 50 minutes. Insane. Curious to see what they can do in 90 minutes. -

Witsel probably transfer of the year if he keeps that up. Paco Alcácer will be loaned out today or tomorrow with an option to buy. Curious to see what he can do up front for us. Used to be my go to guy in Football Manager back when I was playing. -

Germany. Matchday 1. Opening match. Bayern 1-1 Hoffenheim. 80th minute. This happened: Ref thought that was a penalty. VAR didn't think that decision was worth looking at. German refereeing in a nutshell. -
If someone is interested. I found this article to explain the transfer market rather well. https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2014/7/28/5923187/transfer-window-soccer-europe-explained
-
I'm pretty sure he did. The transfer system in European football is quite a bit different than in US sports. Players do have the choice where to go. Teams can't force a player to transfer to a specific team, even if it's the highest bidder. I think that would be the case for transfers out of the MLS to Europe as well.
-
For Davies, I'm hoping he made the right decision and didn't reach too early to high with this transfer. For Bayern I'm hoping otherwise.
-
Well, yes and no. But these kinds of transfers happen all the time in football. Tough luck if it happens. But I think they'd rather have him playing than not. Playing time is key at his age. Turf or not. Way to over-interpret a 20 year old transfer. There are a literally dozens of flops and positive surprises between Hargreaves and now who give a better indicator.

Captain America doin' Captain America things -
Too bad he chose the dark side... Should still be eligible for Bayerns youth team. Think he's going to play there until summer but train with the first team. Should ease his transition.
-
That kind of contract would be quite unusual. Don't think Davies will play a lot of games in the beginning. So I doubt Bayern would worry about that too much. They will want him to play as many games as possible.
-
I think the problem here is mostly his contract, which runs out at the end of this year. It's the choice between 12m now or nothing next year. Price would probably be a lot higher if he had a longer contract. Haven't seen a lot of him, but it would probably benefit his development if he stayed at least another year in the MLS and then look for a upper-mid table European side to set foot in Europe.
-
That wouldn't make any sense for us. Thankfully, we are not in the position anymore where we have to develop players for one of our biggest rivals. Hearing we're considering an offer ourselves. Though Bayern is the favourite to sign him according to German media. Don't think a move would be the right thing for him now as both Dortmund and Bayern are pretty stacked with wingers.

Ronaldo to Juve confirmed. 100m € for a soon to be 34 year old. Yes, it's Ronaldo but I'm refusing to call this good business. -

That would probably be doable for us. Bit surprised actually about the sum. Especially if you consider the prices those kinds of players go for these days when the EPL is involved. -

@Scottish⑦Canuck Hearing Dortmund inquired about Moussa Dembélé. Have a hard time believing we can afford him, though. Any idea at which price Celtic would be willing to sell? -
Will be my second time after 2015. Another great thing about Wacken is you hardly ever have to worry leaving something valuable inside your tent. Some other festivals in Europe where you can't do that. Can't remember any fights there despite so much alcohol. Super friendly people.
-
Will get to see him in 6 weeks at Wacken Open Air. If I'm not too drunk to make it to the stage in time, that is.

Nothing to do with young players. Löw told the press Sané had not found his place in the team yet. Weird explanation. But if you watch a couple of games of the national team you can understand where he's coming from. At City he has the role of receive ball, accelerate, run over/around/through defender, shoot/pass in box. That role is not there in Löw's system. And Löw's system is the most important thing for Löw. Has always been that way since he took over with Klinsmann in 2004. Benzema I think tried to blackmail a team mate a few years ago? Not 100% sure though. -

Very stoic, tough as nails defender. Probably will fit in better in England because of that. Bundesliga refs tend to award more free kicks than their English counterparts imho. Also quite an underdog fan favourite for that same reason. On the other hand he's not very vocal on the pitch. Our officials were expecting leadership qualities from him, which he definitely is not the person to do that. I think they realized that by now. Pretty quick for a CB, although he has slowed down a bit this season. But he needs a good ball playing defender at his side, preferably with very good positional play. Sokratis can be very shaky and a bit over agressive in his positional play. Likes to attack the opponent rather than wait for support which can result in awful situations if he doesn't win the ball. His build up still leaves much to be desired but got a bit better the last 1.5 seasons or so. Hence the suggestion of a good ball playing defender at his side. Was quite good when paired with Hummels because Hummels has those qualities Sokratis is lacking. Plus that was mostly under Tuchel who found ways to take those build up duties away from Sokratis and assign them to other players. I'm happy to get rid of him. Not because he's inherently a bad player. But I just don't like his style of football. I'd rather we had kept Bartra instead of him cause he's a way better football player. But there are probably enough people in Dortmund of the opposite opinion. The fee (allegedly 18-19m €) is probably fair. The contract you guys want to give him (4yrs, 10m € I heard) is too expensive imho. -

Karius was diagnosed with a concussion. Wonder in which situation that occured. Ramos just should not be in football. Yeah, usual suspects really. Maybe Russia can surprise at home. France and Spain the big favourites for me. Any thoughts on the omission of Leroy Sané? Was fun to follow the press on this. German press: Ok. A little weird, but understandable. British press: What the hell? One of the best players of the league not on the roster? U mad bro? -

Right before Karius first blunder. I can't even begin to describe what I feel towards Ramos. People like him shouldn't be in football. Can't wait for VAR in Champions League.
