  1. Fixed it for you... And we are not going to let a bunch of ignorant NIMBYs mess with our owning / driving F 350's each day and holidaying winters in Cabo....... Global warming supporters are onboard as long as it lines their wallets....
  2. Quality post..... yeah right....... We’ve already put a lot of precious chips down on this climate-disaster bet. We’ve given up, or seem prepared to give up, the environmental health of the waters and lands of Northern Alberta, reconciliation with many B.C. First Nations and genuine democratic practice in oil-infrastructure approval processes. More fundamentally, we’ve given up being honest with ourselves. We’re increasingly living in a delusional fantasy land in which our oil sands policies make environmental and economic sense. As the planet warms, and as the world’s energy transition accelerates, the gamble at the heart of Canadian oil sands policy will only become harder to sustain. The more some of us try to hide that reality with double-speak and wilful self-delusion, the more the fissures in our federation will deepen, because others will call out the lies. So, the path we’re on – the path we took another huge step down this past week, courtesy of the federal Liberals – only leads to a fractured country. It’s our choice whether to keep going. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-is-canada-going-to-be-the-first-country-to-break-apart-over-climate/
  3. Why do the Global Warming Supporters on this site always feel the need to attack others that have positive conservation / climate / environmental views....... ? We only have one planet and we human through over consumption are ruining it. Maybe you guys can sell your F 350 's and instead drive a mid size such as a Tacoma ?
  4. Extensive experience..... really ? Honestly you sound like you are full of yourself.... Champ....
  5. I like you Ryan but just because BC Bud is now legal.... you still need do things in moderation.... Here is a quick read for you. https://globalnews.ca/news/4253559/canada-alberta-oilsands-financial-crisis-carbon-bubble/ Canada’s oilsands industry would be among the first to collapse in a possible global financial crisis within the next 15-20 years, which is when a new study predicts clean energy-technologies will all but kill demand for fossil fuels worldwide.
  6. Kinder Morgan.... funny how you guys trusted them...
  7. Of course it will. The Alberta oil industry is well into its decline. Smart Alberta workers are already looking into retraining options...... You need to start reading some credible news / info sources..... https://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2018/02/15/Why-Oilsands-Era-Is-Over/ Last Sept. 30 marked the 50th anniversary of the opening of the first large oilsands mine and processing plant in Fort McMurray. A lot has changed since then. Once seen as the key to long-lasting prosperity in Alberta, the oilsands are no longer such a sure bet and the industry and province are at a crossroads. At 17 per cent of Alberta’s economy, the oil and gas sector remains the largest industry in the province, but its size relative to the overall economy has shrunk by more than 25 per cent since 1986. The oilsands only account for two per cent of Canada’s economy. The fiscal, investment and labour benefits of Alberta’s oil and gas industry have also declined, and it’s unlikely they’ll bounce back to previous levels. Non-renewable resource revenue, chiefly royalties and land leases, were 30 to 40 per cent of the provincial government’s revenue during the oilsands boom between 2000 to 2011, but only 5.7 per cent in 2015-16. They are forecast to be 8.3 per cent in 2017-18
  8. Advanced Excel skills certainly do not quality you as literate / competent in the issues around expanding KM I would much rather have input from real professionals that work / play on our Salish Sea environment.
  9. Pretty sure the Exxon Oil spill in Alaska happened with pretty low odds as well ........ S..... happens.. and our province needs to be PROPERLY prepared for a worst case scenario..... You need to stop staring at your excel file for 12 hours a day and spend more time out on the water........
  10. Wow, look the king of excel files shows up..... Too bad he has never spent a day on the Salish Sea or enjoyed the Fraser River and its amazing tribs......
  11. Fraser River salmon runs are collapsing...... Time for drastic action / conservation to protect our salmon . Meanwhile the Global Warming Supporters that post here are primarily concerning with making enough dough to afford their F 350's and their yearly winter holidays in Cabo...
  12. You crack me up.... You seem to have zero understanding of risk and reward to the BC economy. Shipping Dirty sinking Dilbit oil from a harbour with no spill response plan / catastrophe assurances makes zero sense. Tourism contributes approximately $4.8 billion to the Metro Vancouver economy annually and supports over 70,000 full time jobs. https://www.tourismvancouver.com/media/corporate-communications/vancouvers-tourism-industry-fast-facts/
  13. Pretty sure the BC Salish sea has more recreational uses and tourism industry than BURNS BOG. Keep moving your goalposts..... eventually you may start to make sense.
  14. He just needs to now copy column ( M ) in his excel file and paste in into column ( R ). Easy as pie.
  15. Dream on. I was brought up as BC resident to enjoy outdoor activities on the Salish sea. I have no money in this dispute.... Just a love for my local natural environment that needs to be guarded / protected for future generations. Global warming is real and people that support Global warming really need to examine their motivations / reasons for their belief.
  16. Some people have won it multiple times..... I hope we don't see multiple tanker spills into the Salish Sea..... even if some randon guy in vancouver has an excel file that says it is unlikely.....
  17. Its all numbers to you. Are you an accountant .... you have been exposed as someone with a fascination with excel files.... Luckily, we have REAL scientists in Canada that will actually examine the risks of a dilbit spill to the salish....
  18. CDN Bitumen is one of the worlds dirtiest oils due to poor quality....... Tractor pulls and chew - now you are making me miss Alberta.......
  19. Any form of oil transport that is of a lower cost will obviously lead to even more dirty Bitumen being extracted over the long term..... especially in the future when the price of Bitumen completely crashes....... The only thing that will save our planet is when the sale of Bitumen can not even cover the cost of production and transport. Hopefully most of the Bitumen can stay in the ground and never be extracted. I guess you have an agenda here though so you are not really interested in any form of debate...
  20. Seems like too late for many people on this thread that are so pro global warming....... Seems like they grew up sleeping on the bottom bed of double bunk bed with granite or concrete frames ....
  21. A plane crash in Burns bog ( as much as a disaster as it would be ) would not pose the same economic risk to our province as a sinking Dilbit oil spill in Vancouver harbour...... Your comparison is a fail.
  22. Dirty Bitumen is a dying / dead industry. Luckily / thankfully most of it will end up being left in the earth...... thus the pipeline expansion will never be needed / completed. To those workers that are profiting in the short term ..... hopefully they can be hired in more sustainable greener industry. Retraining will be critical and oil industry workers should probably be looking at that option sooner than later.
  23. Concern for our planets long term viability due to climate change really should not be impacted by anyones postal code. I am curious though...... do you enjoy outdoor activities and have you ever been anywhere outside Prince George ?
  24. You should go move to China...... if you don't think our environment is worth protecting.......
