  1. Loads of Alberta petro chem engineers know heaps about the industry. Pretty sure most of them are pro oil industry as well. What exactly is your point ? Just because someone has a Stem background hardly makes them a expert on ALL ethical / social / environment / economic issues-projects. Only a Fool thinks they know more than everyone else. The Kinder expansion is complicated issue and the pro / cons can be argued from many different angles. In the end, personal opinion is probably based on your own values and risk tolerance.
  2. As likely as you attaining the reading skills of an average 8 yr old.
  3. Did you get an early start today..... ? My point is that oil pucks may reduce the risk of a potential oil spill to the harbour where i live. ? Why the anger Mate ? You lose your s... over the Canucks loss earlier today... Its just a hockey game bud.
  4. More like Dirty Bitumen meets turbulent salt water / waves in a Vancouver storm.......
  5. Mate, you are very quick to shout out derogatory put downs at people that don't share your opinion about the Kinder expansion. So clearly you are the one lacking in education. Of course we all have personal biases and if you think you don't you are mistaken or maybe you missed that lesson at University.
  6. One simple question. Do you personally profit from a pipeline expansion project ? I think i already know the answer.
  7. Love to read how people paid big dollars to work in the oil patch .... think Vancouver citizens need to take on Potential risk of an oil spill in our harbour..... Oil industry is a dying industry and Albertas bust and boom economy must be hard on its citizens. Just because Alberta is dying economically right now does not mean Vancouver citizens have to risk our inner harbours environment and tourism economy. Its really too bad Alberta did not do a better job with the management its Heritage Fund... maybe if they had the province would not be in the situation today they are in.
  8. I have always posted here my first choice is for the dirty bitumen to stay in the ground where it belongs....
  9. I think the point of it is.... most people realize that the majority of posters here supporting the potential destruction of Vancouvers harbour...... are the same people that profit from their over paid jobs in the patch. Many of us do not profit from big oil and so we have a much more well rounded opinion of the benefits and costs of any expanded terminal / tanker traffic in Vancouver harbour.
  10. Increased tanker traffic in Vancouver harbour with tankers of bitumen is simply a risk too large for us here in the lower mainland to take a chance on.... So sorry but i am a no for your Bitumen Pipeline terminal expansion in my backyard.... Increased Pipeline capacity is all risk and no reward for the people of BC.
  11. Really don't get your point. Perhaps you need to slow down or stop typing from the cab of your F 350 .
  12. Ah,... maybe you are missing the point that this product will float in case of a spill...... A dirty bitumen spill in Van harbour will be catastrophic to our local environment/ economy...... with LONG LONG term negative consequences....
  13. interesting..... CN Rail planning pilot plant to create oilsands bitumen pucks that are easy to ship and float in water. CALGARY — Canadian National Railway Co. says it is planning to build a pilot plant worth up to $50 million next year to create pucks made of oilsands bitumen to transport by rail and ships to customers around the world. https://edmontonjournal.com/transportation/rail/cn-rail-lining-up-pilot-plant-partners-to-make-oilsands-bitumen-pucks/wcm/beb31ad3-1364-4c27-b4dc-bad74ce75434
  14. tiny small car makes you look like a big ripped dude....... that's probably what is happening.....
  15. Why you so upset.... ? Is it because of the low and yet ever lower price of oil........ ? You could always join a truck convoy as clearly that can change government pipeline policy. Are we talking a Convoy of commercial transport trucks or mostly just a few miles of F 350's ?
  16. Yupp, this is the Alberta thread. YEEHAW.........
  17. Luckily.... we did not have the expanded Bitumen Tanker traffic in our harbour during yesterdays storm....... Could have been just a disaster waiting to happen. There must be a better location for a terminal. Better yet for all of us would be to keep the dirty Bitumen in the ground ... forever.....
  18. With North American Real Estate and the TSX / Dow Jones about to Tank..... What is the best bet .... ? Commodities ? Gold ?
  19. Incorrect work visa. Was teaching there. I love to travel but honestly i don't really have any desire to visit China.........
  20. Funny how people on the coast that will be negatively impacted by the pipeline are against it..... people in the north east / east ( F 350 crowd ) of BC that will not be negative impacted are for the pipeline.... Odd how that works... Keep the bitumen in the ground where it belongs. Climate change is real.
  21. Once JT announces that he has been playing Alberta the whole time.... and officially kills the KM expansion... announces increase spending on Green Energy Projects.... his ratings should go up dramatically. Canadians really do care about the environment, especially younger more educated voters.
  22. Perhaps you need to travel or read more.... https://vancouversun.com/pmn/business-pmn/belgian-premier-resigns-as-coalition-comes-under-pressure/wcm/81611cbe-3db6-4fe4-865f-3dc8125e8908 Belgian PM offers to resign after migration tears apart government
  23. Gatineau and Quebec in general is an amazing place. Quebecers are among the friendliest people in Canada. Very similar to the great friendly people of beautiful Surrey . BC. People in Kits are in fact the most unwelcoming people i have met in Canada. I was so happy when i moved out of Kits and into a true community that welcome all ages / all socio economic groups... including families.....
  24. You are reaching now... Lived in Alberta and briefly in Quebec. Travelled across Europe /USA and visited parts of Africa and Asia. People in BC are in fact sick of a Federal Goverment in Ottawa that sells out our province and has let weak immigration policy destroy our social fabric. Nice try though..
  25. My education and health care is determined by Victoria.... My garbage pickup is determined by Surrey...... I will always be more a BCer than a Canadian. If BC ever has a chance to join Washington State / Alaska / Oregon - i would vote yes in a heart beat. Even if it meant letting Alberta join in with us. Most Ontarians can probably not even locate BC on a . North American map......
