  1. I don't see it like that. As long as 70% or higher get vacinated..... and booster shots yearly.... I don't see Covid really having a huge impact. At that point , it would just eliminate the anti vaxxers... so heh, pros and cons right ? I would love a gov issued wallet card for vaccinated people... YOu show your card and you can attend Canucks games / large concerts.. No card - not allowed in. If getting vaxed is a choice... well then business should have the choice to not allow anti vax people into their business.
  2. I think the plan here is to limit transmissions now to save lives and long term medical conditions - now..... buy time for a vaccine to be developed.... Then vacinate .... and hopefully covid can be eliminated.... maybe a booster shot every year. That is the short term and long term plan as i see it.
  3. I would prefer high paid top 6. and just rotate low contracts through the bottom six... all on show me deals.
  4. JB is great at the draft but..... hurtin with his UFA's........ broken down older players....
  5. Just get the hair clipper electric set up from Costco. Wham bam your head is shaved... Easy peasy.... Been doing it for year. Keep it simple. Quick buzz with this set up takes about 5 minutes max.
  6. NO chance. Even Tequila is faster than Rooster......
  7. I see way too many people from all age groups not masked up.... BC now becoming all like.......... ]
  8. BC government is putting highschool kids in groups of 120 young people. 30 kids plus middle aged staff in poorly ventilated rooms all day with no masks../ no plastic barriers... So what is the message again ? Many people in BC are getting confused ....
  9. When the BC government chose to promote Glory Holes and Albertan summer tourists... instead of the use of Masks... most of us realized BC would be heading into a 2nd wave of Covid... Ontario government - they have done a much better job with their covid plan.
  10. USA stock market is record high today actually... Please stick to the facts.... https://www.bbc.com/news/business-53745009
  11. BC has failed to send out a consistent message to our population about the effectiveness of using masks to protect others.... BC also consistently told young people they were much less likely to get covid.. or that they would even get symptoms.... or they they could transmit it to others.... VERY Odd message for our government to send out to the our province.. Walmart and Tim Hortons should not be leading our province in PPE / Masks and covid safety... I would think our BC gov should be LEADING us. So this is where we are now....... BC is getting closer to becoming Canada's Covid capital........ It probably would already be if BC tested as much as other provinces.... In BC way too many people thinking they are tough to not not use masks... when in fact really they are only selfish people not caring to protect others.... Blast / criticize me all you want. This is how i feel and I think all viewpoints are valid. Discussion is important. BTW - i do think BC gov did a great job in march/april with the lockdown.... just went sideways after that.
  12. Heh, no one said defeating defending cup champs in a 7 game series ... was going to be easy. This is war and you win some battles and you lost some. That was a must win game for the Blues so they picked up their game. On to the next one, Canucks will need to find another gear.
  13. No just tell your boss you have headaches, fever and a dry cough... Pretty sure boss will let you stay home. Then start day drinking.....
  14. Swedens death rate was 11 times higher than its neighbour Norway.... Wow that was quite an accomplishment. By all accounts, Sweden's high rate of coronavirus deaths was evidence that the country had made a horrendous error. Sweden — which did not impose a strict lockdown — suffered 543 deaths per million of its population, compared to just 105 in neighboring Denmark. The Swedish death toll has been roughly 11 times worse than Norway's, on a per capita basis. As for why there's been a recent drop: "The short answer is, that there is no short answer," Pekka Nuorti, an epidemiologist in Finland's Tampere University, told Business Insider, pointing to changes in testing, changes in behaviors, and more time spent outside. But Nuorti warned against taking much comfort from this chart alone. "In general, looking only at total reported case counts can be misleading and they have a tendency to fluctuate," he said. Sweden is now preparing for a second wave, like other countries — a situation it had hoped to avoid. Health Minister Lena Hallengren warned this week "the danger is not over," and announced Sweden is planning in case the virus starts to peak again. https://www.businessinsider.com/sweden-coronavirus-cases-deaths-fall-not-mean-lockdown-plan-worked-2020-7
  15. Lockdown in BC was done very well saved many lives. Restart in BC. - not done very well unfortunately....... BC government sent way too many messages out about young people not being at much risk.... Terrible message to send out.
  16. Maybe they are confused why posters would support other people dying over themselves being slightly inconvenienced..... I
  17. Covid is a very infectious virus.... It will not run its course until the vast majority of citizens have had it.. IF THEY get antibodies... IF>..... Covid has not run its course in any country in the world... It can re-appear quicker than you think.... for a second wave.
  18. We all saw it coming...... at least all of us except for the BC gov..... Sad to see our province fail to sustain our great start. I guess we go back to lockdown soon.
  19. wow..... BC government is really going against public opinion on this one. A new poll from Insights West found that 79 per cent of respondents support mandatory masks for teachers and staff, with majority support for mask-wearing for high-school students (77 per cent), middle school (73 per cent), older kids (67 per cent) and younger children (58 per cent). https://vancouversun.com/news/many-b-c-parents-want-to-see-kids-wearing-masks-at-school-this-fall/wcm/e232902b-259d-4d4d-a0ab-8cf878c37a1c/
  20. OOps... it is Gordie Howe that told that story.... sorry. Gordie also played forward , D and goalie on his childhood teams....
  21. Finally reading some media here that is looking at what is going on.. About time. While B.C. has been a Canadian leader in its coronavirus response, a Simon Fraser University (SFU) health expert says the province has failed in getting its message to younger people. It comes as the province sees COVID-19 cases surging, driven largely by social gatherings of younger adults in the Lower Mainland. SFU health sciences professor Scott Lear believes that’s in part because since the start of the pandemic, B.C.’s messaging has focused on how the virus affects vulnerable people, particularly the elderly or those with chronic illnesses. “I think the message that we hear is that if you’re young you’re not going to die … so you’re not going to be really at risk,” he told Global News. “So there doesn’t really seem to be a message that hey, look, everybody needs to be concerned here.” https://globalnews.ca/news/7273037/bc-coronavirus-young-people-messaging/
