MIxed messages here in BC ? CNN. - A coronavirus outbreak at a Georgia sleep-away camp this June could have implications for school reopening, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. At least 260 attendees ended up testing positive for Covid-19, according to researchers All in all, test results were available for 344 (58%) of the 597 attendees from Georgia; among these, 260 (76%) were positive. At least 44% -- 260 of 597 -- got infected, although the researchers say not everyone was tested so the rate could be even higher .https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/31/health/georgia-camp-coronavirus-outbreak-cdc-trnd/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_content=2020-07-31T23%3A45%3A36&utm_source=twCNN&utm_term=link

BC Covid Plan - Welcoming all Albertans to come and summer vacay in BC...... and only wear a mask if you feel like it.....
-
Dr b and Horgans great glory hole idea doesn’t seem to be working We need our bc leaders to start supporting a mask policy .... or call the election
-
50 cases wow great job Horgan in times of crisis we need real real leaders to step up and lead
-
Canucks gave up on Neely... Really hoped we learned our lesson but apparently not... Power forwards take time to develop. #FreeJake

Horgan invited all of Alberta to come to BC this summer..... DR. B doesn't support mandatory masks on BC transit or in crowded highschool classrooms with poor ventilation. Glory holes and open strip bars instead are the plans of the BC government..... One of the lowest funded provinces in Canada in terms of funding per student in our schools. Such weak leadership in this province. Some times i feel like i live in Alabama ... or Florida.

Yah kids rarely get covid...... wow...... I can't believe some of stuff i read here..... from yesterday in montreal At least 27 people connected to a day camp in Boucherville have contracted COVID-19, public health authorities said Wednesday. Sara-Eve Tremblay, a spokesperson for the health authority for the Montérégie Sud region, said the outbreak began on July 20 at Les Ateliers de Charlot l’escargot day camp. The camp has been ordered to close until at least Aug. 7. The outbreak follows smaller ones reported at camps in the Montérégie area, in Gatineau and at a hockey camp in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Grâce sector. “What is worrying is that we can see now how difficult it will be to manage this in schools this coming fall,” Roy told the Montreal Gazette. “The more cases that we have of the virus in circulation, the more difficult it will be for kids to have continuous access to school. https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/at-least-27-test-people-positive-for-covid-19-at-boucherville-day-camp

Has BC become the only anti mask province in Canada...... ? CBC News Alerts @CBCAlerts Update @CBCNews : Ontario elementary students to go back to school full time in September, while most high school students will alternate days between class and online learning. All students Grade 4 and above to wear a mask.

BCTF is concerned with the health of kids and adults working in schools - and of course their families. BC gov. is primarily concerned about rebooting the economy.

120 kids in a cluster.... sounds like a cluster F.... My neighbours kid can only have 4 friends over at a time... but he can hang out at school with 120 kids... and 4 teachers.... Wow, what a messed up province.... When the second wave hits BC... the rest of Canada will know that we blew it here.. after a great start .. our BC leaders / provincial health leaders let us down. Business interests should not trump the health of BC citizens.....

Heh, what can go wrong when sending kids back to school full time during a Pandemic to one of Canada's lowest funded education systems - Welcome to BC.

Over a third of B.C. teachers ‘unsure’ about returning to classroom in September Posted July 27, 2020 5:42 pm B.C. teachers are “unsure” about a return to school in September and only half of them felt safe during the voluntary return to class last month. According to preliminary results of an internal survey of B.C. Teachers’ Federation members, a majority felt exhausted by increased workloads and say they need more support. Coronavirus: 73% of B.C. parents support mandatory masks for back-to-school “An overwhelming majority of teachers indicated stringent health and safety measures are essential for a safe return to school. Teachers say PPE is key to make work safer for teachers and students.” The survey found teachers are worried the pandemic is exposing and magnifying existing inequities in the system. Six in 10 teachers say the rapid shift to online and distance learning has forced them to change how they teach in “problematic ways.” https://globalnews.ca/news/7223217/over-a-third-of-b-c-teachers-unsure-about-returning-to-classroom-in-september/

I thought we were discussing cities / provinces making masks mandatory... Silly me....
-
Is our Premier losing it.................? Covid times are pretty stressful but we need leaders that can handle the stress... Horgan advises drivers with non-B.C. plates to take bus to avoid harassment He says he can’t tell people how to respond when seeing out-of-province plates

Wearing a mask or face covering will be required in indoor public spaces beginning July 7, 2020 under City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020 . The mask or face covering should cover your nose, mouth and chin, without gapping. Wearing a mask or face covering is an additional measure we can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep each other safe. This means that, with some exceptions, all customers or visitors entering an indoor premise are required to wear a mask or face covering while inside. https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-what-you-should-do/covid-19-orders-directives-by-laws/mandatory-mask-or-face-covering-bylaw/

You do realize that about 8 times as many people get covid each day that are untested.. You also do realize BC has one of the lowest testing rates in the country. Stop being ridiculous, mandatory masks are essential in BC to stop the next wave of covid. Managemable risk ? Really , not if its your grandparent.......
