  1. Masvidal is still an idiot too bad Askren lost. He should have known that he would cheap shot him instead of tapping gloves like a decent human being.
  2. I hear you, but the guy is so funny and entertaining otherwise. Masvidal seems like an idiot is about every way..........
  3. I hope Santos knocks out Jones, that guy needs some serious humbling. I hoped Gustafsson or Cormier would have done it but sadly couldn't. I really like Ben Askren, he has been a breath of fresh air. It seems like a lot of guy's are like Masvidal, really thin skinned and not very bright either. If the guy can't control himself and attacks another fighter that "disrespected" him like in his last fight he has some serious mental issues. Hope Holm can land one of her leg kicks and end the fight as well. Time will tell what happens........
  4. On average yes the people are much more down to earth and nicer than the lower mainland. As for athlete's some want to live the "good" life however they define it and others want to win and are professionals. Winnipeg has had a good team which is attractive to the latter, hopefully they can recover from the talent they lost being in a cap crunch. As for Laine, I would take the draft picks and let someone else deal with his issues. He might recover from them and do well or he might fizzle out. I bet they are having this conversation internally and picking between Connor and him the choice would e clear to me.
  5. Lol. My sister moved there and I've always enjoyed visiting there. Best people in Canada live in Manitoba in my opinion. I've gone there in winter and it's not bad at all on average, ice fishing is a lot of fun. If you like winter sports it's great, if you are someone who never goes out in the winter it would be tough. Living in the northern half of B.C. there are bugs ad cold weather here too so Manitoba isn't a problem. I bet most of the hockey players from Scandinavia and other cold countries don't have a problem with the weather there
  6. It's called living in Canada and the people of Manitoba are much better on average than the people of the lower mainland.
  7. They need more picks, nothing else matters. Why try to win actual games if there is a chance to get high 1 round draft picks every year?
  8. Ah yes the "Shanaplan" What part of this genius plan was too: - not fix the defence, - become the softest team in the league - pay a UFA forward 11 million dollars -overpay a soft forward 7 mil - have to waste a 1st round pick to buy out 1 year of a 40 year old player (like Marleau though) - trade with a division rival and bleed talent to get under the cap - and after all this they still aren't under the cap and are at risk of losing their best forward to an offer sheet. And yet the media who owns the Leaf's are still trying to spin all this in a positive way while throwing all the other Canadian teams under the bus. I do hope someone offer sheet's Marner and the Media/Leaf's house of cards comes tumbling down.
  9. That is true but there is a much bigger appetite now after the disaster of the last number of years. As long as Lowe isn't involved in any way and they revamp the scouting and development staff. Keith Gretzky is a good assistant GM and despite his last name isn't part of the "boys on the bus" club. Mctavish, Coffey also gone, time will tell........
  10. For all who think the Oilers are going to ruin him Holland is a top notch GM so I expect things to be a lot different once he changes the culture in management there. Detroit always was one of the classiest organisations and I expect he will change a lot behind the scenes.
  11. All the best to Hutton whether he plays here or elsewhere. Needs to be at a lower cap hit though because 4+ million is far too much at this point, they were right to cut him loose considering the Luongo recapture penalty.
  12. I can't believe you would even think such a thing, the beard is the secret to his success
  13. Good signing, I like it. Need a quality beard in the line up
  14. Good luck to him, seems like a great guy and I hope it works out for him.
  15. Adding Myers and Benn will be a good upgrade to the team and will help a lot. A big guy with a good shot and some toughness that can play defence, I like it. Now if they could trade Tanev for a young upcoming D man that would be awesome. The addition of Miller on the front end was a great move too, with added grit and scoring.
  16. Can't believe how toxic you are, I feel sorry for you. You seem very happy about for some reason.........
  17. They were warned along with all the other teams not to try and circumvent the cap and they did so now they have to pay the price. The good news is it shouldn't affect them too much since they have time to plan it out and are a young team right now. It sucks but it's not the end of the world here, they will be fine.
  18. Yes it would be if that happened, the young core needs experience and we don't want to be a franchise that accepts losing and stays in a perpetual rebuild.
  19. They are trying to build a playoff team instead of a great regular season team that wilts in the playoffs. This year has shown if you get in anything is possible if you get a few breaks along the way. I like the grit they are bringing in, just need to address the defence which is something they have already said they are going to do. They still have over 3 months before the start of the season to take care of those needs.
  20. I like this video just put up today, speaks to the victim mentality of a vocal portion of the fanbase. They just can't or won't accept that the team could be good soon and want to be in a perpetual rebuild. I'm tired of missing the playoffs and the victim mindset of a lot of people. They are incapable of seeing anything good.
