  1. I actually think this is very fair. Boeser is a better player then Fiala by far in my opinion. Id do it just so Boeser can get a change in scenery which he seems to need right now
  2. Brisebois and Utunen are the ones Id keep an eye on. Id like to see a little more size in that group. If Im Benning Im chasing Barron this draft. Right defender with size who is responsible defensively but can add some offence. A Hughes-Rafferty pairing would be amazing offensively but Id worry they'd struggle considerably in their own zone.
  3. Really like the speed, size and toughness MacEwen is bringing to the lineup. Schaller just lacks that these days. If Schaller cant be traded Id consider waiving him for depth in the playoffs
  4. haha will you stop complaining about everything and trolling everyone else? Everyone has their own opinions. Just because yours are "right" doesn't mean anything to anyone else
  5. Lind should be given some games this season. And for F### sakes can we see Eriksson sit for that?!? Absolutely sick of him playing in the top6 with Horvat and accomplishing nothing. Pearson-Horvat-Lind would be a fun line to see at times this year and moving into next
  6. On a side note I don't begrudge Roussel's play this season. Injuries will slow down anyones play early in the season and especially at an older age. Im hoping were sellers at the deadline. At least of our expendable players. Obviously not all of these guys but if you get a good offer Id take it. Sutter, Schaller, Benn, Fantenberg, Tanev, Stecher and Marky (if management think Demko's ready and can acquire a decent backup in return) Marky for Mrazek+Bokk+2nd
  7. Which is exactly why we need to remain patient with him in the AHL. He's learning the game and will continue to learn it in the NHL, but let him have all the time down there that can be afforded. With that said I see him being on the team after the trade deadline. Tanev, or maybe Stecher, will be traded
  8. With Podz, Virtanen and MacEwen we have 3 NHL players that can play with an edge and speed. My issue is that Green has never really done a good job at integrating these guys into the lineup. He's more happy to stay with the players he knows.
  9. Id argue Tanev as well. Pearson+ maybe? I don't disagree with you, but I do remember Benning saying it
  10. 90% sure Benning has said he wants to recoup that pick. Really want a pick that allows us to get Niemela
  11. Id say Woo has a better chance of that in a Bieksa type of style
  12. Haven't been able to watch any of his games. Hows his skating? Sure looks like he has all the other tools to be a power-forward in the pro ranks, so if his skating is up to par I wouldn't be surprised if he's a guy Benning is thinking of signing this summer. Even though another year or two wont hurt him for sure
  13. Hey, don't forget me lol I started this amazing argument on here hahah
  14. One player doesn't make a team. Unless your Edmonton and Mcdavid
  15. Do you think not having Tanev takes us out of the playoff picture? Because if our depth is so poor Id not want to gamble on Tanev's health to get us into the playoffs. Edit: I also don't think this team is playoff competitive because of luck. As I outlined with my 2nd last post. I just believe moving on from expiring UFA's helps this teams future more then using them in their last year. Is Benn, Tyamkin or Rafferty (or Chatfield) such a downgrade from Tanev that we will miss the playoffs and lose that experience you refer too?
  16. Well Edmonton (2nd in Pacific) would be fighting for a wildcard spot and currently out of the Eastern Conference. Canucks also play very poorly against teams from the Eastern Conference compared to Western
  17. Agree to disagree. I see a 1st as more likely to get us a cup then Tanev this year. But, thats the great thing about hockey and the future. Anything can happen Edit: Ill add that I think this team can do just as well (or very close to) without Tanev as it is now
  18. I think people are overestimating where this team is at. The Pacific division is weak this year and thats one of the main reasons the Canucks are where they are currently. The only other two reason are because of our stellar goaltending and young guns stepping up and progressing. One could argue our depth is also better this year, but thats only due to Benning's stellar drafting recently increasing internal competition. Can any fans truly say that they think this team can win a seven game series against Washington, Pittsburgh, Boston, Tampa, St Louis or Colorado? This team has gone 50 years without a cup because they are happy with patch work and not the pain of truly building a contender. Give this team time to acquire and grow its young stars while moving on from the old regime. Also out of all the UFA etc. talk has anyone heard Benning say he plans on resigning Tanev or at least declining the idea of trading him? Because, I sure have heard him be very vocal on what he wants to do during UFA years such as resigning Edler, Markstrom etc.
  19. If he's ready. He has a long way to go before being talked about as a future Canuck.
  20. Tryamkin could easily step into Fantenburgs/Benn's role right now. I truly expect to see Tanev or Stecher traded so the next few weeks will be interesting to follow. I believe Tanev is worth a first at this deadline with his current healthy play this season. He also doesn't seem to be a guy we'd resign due to his injury history and coming prospect depth in that area (Rafferty, Tram, Chatfield and Woo). Therefore, we should trade him, accrue assets and prepare this team as a contender for the next 2-5 years. Missing Tanev this season will hurt, but it should benefit us long term with Benning's stellar drafting
  21. If what you say is true then we wont make it far at all in the playoffs
  22. 1. Podkolzin ------------------ 2. Hoglander 3. Juolevi ------------------ 4. Madden 5. Lind 6. Rathbone 7. Rafferty 8. Woo ----------------- 9. Dipietro 10. MacEwen 11. McDonough 12. Utunen 13. Jasek 14. Brisebois -------------------- 15. Gadjovich 16. Focht 17. Costmar 18. Lockwood 19. Silovs 20. Keppen
  23. And the worst NHL team for comparison
