  1. I don't think anyone on here is necessarily wrong. This team needs another high end defense prospect and centre depth. That centre depth can be translated to the wings as needed if they turn out to be NHL calibre. Although you should always go BPA in the draft, Im hoping for the following scenario. 1st round bigger defensemen- Barron, Schneider or Guhle 2nd round centre men- Ponomaryov or Foerster
  2. Dont disagree, but if you can get a 1st... wouldn't you do it? Get another piece towards a cup contender?
  3. No one is as good as Tanev defensively when he's healthy. Hard guy to replace, but if he consistently misses about half the season then whats the difference? Someone fills his role then out of necessity anyways.
  4. I agree with you, but Tanev isn't a guy that we will resign this offseason. To many injuries with us and we need more longterm security with regards to our RD. That doesn't necessarily mean we trade Tanev now, but as the deadline draws closer we'd be silly not to listen to offers on Tanev when Rafferty or Tryamkin can fill his spot.
  5. He had one decent game with too many turnovers. Then he took two stupid penalties that cost the Canucks the next game. Waive him, be done with him at the NHL level.
  6. Question is who's the bigger steal? Madden in the 3rd or Gaudette in the 5th?
  7. That was an incredible behind the back tip! Shows that this kid has some skill and we may really have something here
  8. Am I the only one that really dislike the lotto line nickname?

I agree, not a fan of lucky "lotto". Should be called the Jackpot line. PP is the Extra

It's a play on Lotto 6/49. Their jersey numbers are 6-40-9 (just in case people actually don't know). Don't think anyone's implying they're getting lucky.

@Brad Marchand It's just when you say lotto, luck is pretty much the next word you'd think of. I understand the whole 6/49 thing, but jackpot is kinda more of a fitting description of how that line actually plays.

  9. if he keeps this pace up he may get a quick look in the new year
  10. The grinch is taking over christmas
  11. Is there a way to ban people? Terrible trades
  12. If we didn't have so many big contracts coming up then Id be interested in this. But we are really going to need that 6M to have room for big contracts going to Pettersson, Hughes, Demko and Gaudette
  13. If Madden keeps this up he could easily be the top C in Utica next season or a middle six guy for the Canucks. Roussel-Horvat-Madden for the Canucks or Gadj-Madden-Lind
  14. Id leave him in the SHL one more year. Let him play where he's comfortable and then compete for a Canucks spot the year after. His stat totals are good for a pro league (7points in 17games), but another year of development there wouldn't hurt
  15. ^ Half the people of CDC lol Good thing this isn't a poll of different people
  16. I don't want to trade Virtanen. Our patience is finally paying off. Virt is looking like a 20 goal scorer who can play physically. He's the type of guy you want in the lineup when this team makes the playoffs.
  17. He adds no value, but as a penalty killer. Id rather give auditions on the PK to guys like Horvat, Gaudette and MacEwen.
  18. I know Id rather see him in the lineup then Eriksson. Put the Big Mac on the PK and see how he does.
  19. 1. Podkolzin 2. Rathbone 3. DiPietro 4. Madden 5. Juolevi 6. Hoglander 7. Woo 8. Lind 9. Rafferty 10. Palmu
  20. If Columbus was willing to make that trade then absolutely. But, I think we'd need to add a pick or something
  21. People need to remember that this wasn't a bad pick. Just very unfortunate injury trouble that should not look bad on Juolevi or Benning. Keep your hopes up guys. If Juolevi ever does work his way out of this injury bug we still could have a top 4D.
  22. Canucks just don't have enough star power. Some of our young generation will evolve into the players we need, but a top 10 pick and another 1st would set this team up for years

The Coyotes don't have enough starpower, the Islanders don't have enough starpower. What separates them from us is they battle relentlessly all the time and have good coaching staff. I'm tired of this "we need more starpower" BS, it doesn't fix the team playing sloppy and having stale systems that don't work. Also, knowing Green, whatever starpower we get in the future will be mismanaged and someone like Leivo will have more one-time than the star.

Thanks for making some more space on the bandwagon! *stretches legs*

Heck, even the Blues didn't have a lot of Star Power when they won last season, but their systems worked and they had the entire team buy in and perform their roles perfectly.
