  1. Stoked By this pick!!!! Hoglander-Pettersson-Boeser That can be an elite line for us going forward! Welcome to Vancouver!
  2. Maybe, but Benning did say he wants to restock the forward cupboards My bet is definitely a winger
  3. Ya I agree he will probably be gone but you never know. Grewe would definitely be my second choice if he's there
  4. You'd have to send Eriksson the other way. Edmonton would need to add a 2nd+ or a top prospect like Puljujarvi or Yamamoto
  5. Podkolzin-Pettersson-Boeser Kaliyev-Horvat-Madden Virtanen-Gaudette-Lind Gadjovich-Karlsson-MacEwen
  6. A great thing to keep in mind for this draft is that Podkolzin is one of the younger players that were available. Points may not fly off the page, but the fact he played against men at such a young age and acquitted himself well is a real bonus. Really high in this pick and can't wait for him to be here in a couple years!
  7. Lavoie Hoglander Grewe Korczak Any of these 4 and Id be more then happy! Grewe could be a really good fit for us moving forward!
  8. Did not think Pod would be there at our pick or else he would have been one of my choices
  9. This pick tells me the Canucks have a timeframe in mind for being competitive. More of a longterm developmental pick considering the type of player, but I couldn't be more excited with the pick!

      this pick at 10 oa

tells me that outside of the top 3 - 5 picks each draft

the rest of the 1st round need a season or 2

before they mature enough to crack an nhl line up

so yeah, unlikely he could step into the nuck line immediately after being drafted

most fans are very excited about our young talent

but none, no one, stepped right onto the team after being drafted

so nothing really to see here

  10. Thats the great thing about this draft. there are so many good players. Probably a top 15 Id be happy with. The only player Im not big on is Broberg so guess we'll see what happens
  11. Honestly wouldn't be the worst thing to sign the guy on a 1 year deal. Adds some much needed depth to our right D side. In my opinion he's comparable to Tanev. Hutton-Tanev Hughes-Stecher Edler(or UFA)-MacDonald Sautner-Schenn Leaves lots of room to move pieces throughout the season. Hutton, Tanev, MacDonald, Schenn could all be moved if others show they're ready to play. Juolevi, Rafferty, Chatfield, Brisebois
  12. He's so good there are two of them Id put York or Knight in that 15 spot then. Sarcasm? Im not a huge fan of Broberg at all. I just don't think he has the needed mindset/IQ to hit his potential. He's outside my top 15, but time will tell if Im right or wrong
  13. I think there is a very high chance that Benning trades down. Wouldn't be surprised if we are picking around 15. 1. Hughes 2. Kakko 3. Byram 4. Turcotte 5. Dach 6. Zegras 7. Cozens 8. Caufield 9. Podkolzin 10. Zegras 11. Boldy 12. Soderstrom 13. Newhook 14. Krebs 15. Seider Have to like the depth at the top of this draft. Its going to be an interesting day
  14. Puljujarvi has high potential still. Edmonton is hard on its young players and they often succeed once leaving that dump. Zaitsev may be overpaid but he still holds value as a right shot defensemen. Kapanen would add some much needed skill to our top 6 lineup
  15. Id do Lucic + Puljujarvi + 2nd for Sutter Tanev + Virtanen for Zaitsev + Kapanen Trade down 3-7 spots and add another 3rd. Draft Seider (or Soderstrom), Grewe(EDM 2nd), Beecher(Van 2nd), Farinacci and Hugo Has in the first 3 rounds.
  16. Really want John Farinacci with our 3rd round pick. Similar situation to Rathbone, but has showed similar amounts of skill compared to some of the top USNTDP players. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/445599/john-farinacci https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/nhl-entry-draft-picks-2019/2019/5/19/18630530/john-farinacci-2019-nhl-draft-rankings-prospect-profile-video-highlights-scouting-report-analysis
  17. Agreed, would be great if he showed the ability to play some games and then we could trade Hutton at the deadline Hughes Edler Juolevi after the deadline would be nice to see
  18. Should actually be quite a few more then that. Dorsett, Pouliot, Gaunce, Pyatt, Laplante and Mazanec all will be gone Kero, Boucher, Leighton and McEneny are all potentially gone as well. Also the possibility of buying out one or both of Schaller and Spooner, but Id rather just waive them for Utica. Therefore, we should be down to about 42-44 contracts at the beginning of July. Plenty of room for UFA signings (Stralman+Connoly), NHL draft pick signings and other free agents (Priskie)
  19. Prediction: The Canucks are going to draft a top 10 player that no one talks about on this site because he seems out of reach. Therefore the Canucks are happy to select Kirby Dach!
  20. Could argue LD is still pretty set moving forward as well. A combination of Hughes, Juolevi, Rathbone, Tryamkin, Brisebois, Teves, Sautner and Utunen should make up a very solid top 6 lineup in the future. Hughes-______ Juolevi- Woo Tryamkin- Rafferty Rathbone- Chatfield
  21. This right here tells me the Canucks will be picking at least one or two of the lower calibre players on that team because they think they're buried behind depth and have little room to shine.
  22. Round 1- Soderstrom Round 2- Thomson Round 3- Farinacci Round 4- Blumel Set down the right side defence while adding another centre to the mix and a potential high end LW
  23. Would you trade Eriksson for Ladd?

      100% yes.

I probably wouldn't. Ladd has 4 years left on his deal, Loui has 3. Also, the last year of Eriksson's contract can be bought out for cap relief ($1M signing bonus, $3M salary), but every year of Ladd's contract is buyout-proof.

If you were asking 3 years ago yes. He played 26 games and 11 points this year.

      And he's 33 years old.

      Pass.
