When thecanuckway guys write this lol
"If at least five of these guys can play up to their respective potentials in 2017-18, the Vancouver Canucks just might own one of the NHL’s most prolific scoring machines."
Lets be real. Canucks are not going to be good next year as we have no star power. We have past stars and potential future stars but to say we are going to be a leading goal scoring team in the NHL is ridiculous. Sedins are most likely going to be like last year or decline a little more, maybe 30 goals between them. Many other guys like Sutter, Dorsett, Eriksson, Gagner have reached their peak and may be consistent producer at what they are producing now. 17, 8, 20, 15 goals respectively. And then you have our young up and comers.. Bo, Baer, Gran, Boes? are the only ones I can see potting around 20 goals. Add all those up and assume everyone performs to their potential and doesn't get injured. Add in the few other goals scored form others and you arrive at roughly 180-200 goals which is just above where we finished last year in NHL goal scoring.
Definitely not a prolific goal scoring club but I am hoping for young guys to truly exceed expectations

I really hope our kids take a step forward, our "expendables" (Gagner, Sutter, Dorsett, etc.) have good years, and our veterans (Sedins, Eriksson, etc.) have down years.
Its obvious why I want the kids to improve. We need them to improve if this rebuild is going to work.
I want the "expendables" to perform well to give them value at the trade deadline so that we can have one final strong draft before actually rising in the standings.
I want the veterans to do poorly so that we can still finish at the bottom of the table and take a franchise changing player which is exactly what our future core needs. We won't win a cup with our prospect group until we gain that top-end elite player and I don't believe we have them yet.

Ronaldo gets a 4 game suspension for this
But In the NHL you almost have to kill someone to get suspended four games haha like this

Wonder if Canucks signed Nilsson instead of Miller because he's trade-able while Miller would have demanded a no trade clause....Better to have trade-able assets in a rebuild then not. May have been a contributing factor

I think Ryan Miller actually forced the Canucks hand with the signing. I think Ryan Miller decided on signing in Anaheim long ago and informed the Canucks in early to mid June of his decision, ultimately forcing the Canucks to sign Anders Nilsson. The good thing with Anders is that, like you said, he's on a cheap deal that's easy to trade. The bad news is that goalies are tough to trade so he may not be dealt unless Demko forces the Canucks to make a move next year. It'll be interesting how this all plays out.

Canucks should sign Wideman and Jagr too cheap one year deals and flip them at the deadline. Perfect way to acquire more picks while giving kids time to develop in Utica. Trade Dorsett for what you can. Trade Tanev for futures like Liljegrin+Kapanen
Sedins-Granlund
Baer-Bo-Jagr
Rodin/Boucher-Sutter-Eriksson
Gaunce-Burmistrov-Gagner
Boucher/Rodin
Edler-Stetcher
Hutton-Wideman
DelZotto-Guddy
Wiercoch-Biega
Marky
Nilsson
Bring in the young as the old get traded. Trade Sedins at deadline and resign them for one year.
Baer-Bo-Boeser
Sedins-Granlund
Dahlen-Pettersson-Eriksson
Virtanen-Gagner-Gaunce
Juolevi-Stetcher
DelZotto-Guddy
Hutton-Subban

Excited that the management group isn't rushing in our prospects anymore. Sign Eberle and Del Zotto and let guys like Boeser and Juolevi develop more. Patience is going to be key with this rebuild if we want to compete again anytime soon

@canuktravella Well, it's 10:00 pm, so he would technically be "night drunk".
