  1. Out of those four Id say Granlund. He had a great year and made an impact. If Tryamkin can be more consistent and physical more often he could be a top pairing guy for us....if he comes back.
  2. Exactly, Mccann did the same thing and canucks rushed him in and he flopped. Considering where we are, being patient with prospects won't hurt
  3. totally agree with this. Maker is probably going to take some time to get to the big league. Do canucks fans and management have enough patience to let him develop?
  4. Wow Kessel reminds me of a whiny little toddler!

    3. Jaku

      Jaku

      Casey Mittlestadt.

  7. just don't sign miller and take one of their goalies as a backup and get a pick/prospect. It really is the perfect situation for us
  8. Probably not in the back of his mind, but more canucks fans. Just like Brisebois
  9. As a UFA signing Id say go for it but preferably shortish term. not worth trading for, considering where this organization is.
  10. Zhukenov is a great offensive prospect and needs to play with good offensive players to succeed in the AHL next year. I know its a big jump and top 6 might be a bit much but who else do the Canucks and comets have as centre prospects in Utica? Zalewski will probs not be resigned, Hamilton, Cassels, carcone are probably going to be in Uti a and maybe Valk. Valk, Carcone, Zhuk, Cassels might be a decent centre group. I also think Zhuk with Virtanen would be a good pairing as Virt can open up the ice and Zhuk can feed him nice passes.
  11. Considering the playoffs he just had I think he could easily be a top 6C in Utica next season
  12. Ive basically accepted that the Canucks are going to fall in this lottery. But a top 5 pick is great and definitely what this team needs. It would just be an added bonus if we pick 1st or 2nd. Im my mind third overall doesn't really matter as there are so many players in the same bracket there.

    1. King Heffy

      King Heffy

Patrick, Hrischier, Middlestadt, or a defenseman.

  13. You won't get anyones firsts next year. This years draft was considered somewhat weak and thats why its happening but I doubt anyone trades their First in 2018.
  14. True, but my feeling is he has the drive and showed that at the end of this season. I think he will be in Utica to start the year and will break out offensive wise. Assuming he has a decent summer and doesn't do what he did last summer he will have a good next year in the AHL with NHL call-ups.
  15. I don't think Jake could be any worse then a third liner in the future. To much speed, size and skill. Hoping he can be a bigger Hansen or maybe a Lucic type player in his prime. This league is getting faster and Jake fits right into that mold.
  16. Canucks should be hiring a good defensive development coach for Utica. Someone that works well with developing D prospects considering how many good D prospects we have down there. Subban, Pedan, McEneny, Brisebois etc
  17. This right here... is why people say Canucks fans overvalue their prospects.
  18. Send Boeser to Utica and put Boucher there for now. If he ups his game we can trade him at deadline and bring Boeser up. Megna to Utica, Drew Shore or Anton Rodin as 13th forward. Dorsett traded/waived, Skille walks. Virtanen in Utica or third line, 4th will delay development. Baer-Bo-Boucher Goldobin-Sutter-Eriksson Sedins-Granund Gaunce-Chaput-Shore Rodin Cant see a scenario where Sedins are resigned.
  19. I dont disagree completely but Goldy, Gaudette, Zhuk, Lockwood at forward all have great potential. Even guys like Gaunce Labate and Mckenzie may surprise. 4th liners are always changing, easily replaceable and hard to predict so I won't mention them. On D we have Brisebois, Tryamkin(if he returns) and Subban as well, all very likely to make the Big league one day. I think were missing true top line and top D talent though and that will need to be sought soon, ? ? Boeser Goldy Horvat Granlund Dahlen Gaudette/Zhuk Virtanen Juolevi Stetcher Try? ? Brisebois Subban Oh and lets not forget DEMKO
  20. Theres not many times that I think Botchford knows what he's talking about. But in this case I think he's right. Trading vets is definitely the way to go and Tanev should be traded. Sign a reclamation project UFA D like Del Zotto or Cody Franson short term or an older guy on a one-two year deal and flip him at the trade deadline.
  21. hmm you might be right but I was going off what I read in DobberProspects. " The 20-year-old forward has had a terrific playoff run for Chicoutimi of the QMJHL. He leads his team and is fourth in the league with 16 points in 11 contests. The crafty and speedy center has flashed plenty of offensive creativity at the junior level and has demonstrated a willingness to improve his off-puck skills. There have been rumors that he will sign in the KHL at the completion of his final QMJHL season, but that may not be the worst thing, as he's likely a couple years away from pushing for a full-time NHL gig. The Canucks will own his rights until he is 27 years old. Cam Robinson"
  22. Patrick may still be number one, but what Im saying is that size and nationality shouldn't completely determine who whom picks. The poster that quoted me and I quoted in return referenced those as the numbers and said that because Patrick is Canadian we should pick him over the Swiss. I disagreed. In my mind size helps but being smart and having skill is more important. In the big picture.
  23. Considering we own his rights until he's 27. I doubt we waste his ELC if his plans to go to Russia.
