  1. If the Canucks trade for E. Kane I'll be devastated.

I would take him on a few conditions..the main one being to grow up ...become a Canuck and contribute...his chances have pretty much run their course...also if we dont mortgage the farm to pick him up,,, he is from here which might make a difference in his demeanor..close to family and all...he is talented and what we need in the top 6 but not at the expense of harmony on the team...he would have to be on a real short leash.

I'm with Baka. What is this idea that if Kane comes to Vancouver, all of a sudden guys like Virtanen are going to up and abondon all their work ethic, and start doing bad things? Like, we act as if when we say kids, in this sport, like they're actually kids. Like they're 15 and super impressionable and are like "Well golly gee, that guy was doing bad things, I thought it would be ok if I did them too?" Or he's like "Sorry coach, not going to listen or further my NHL career anymore. Evander's not doing it, why should I?"

They may be young, (as in early 20s) but they're not dumb. The kind of kids that would be negatively affected by Evander, brought down and have their careers ruined, were probably going to do it themselves anyway. In all the time Kassian was here, did we have a single kid whose career path was significantly altered because they came into contact with such a menace? We act as if they're 15 years old and never heard of a club. Like Evander Kane will be the one to show them be big bad club scene and next thing you know, Jake Virtanen is trash.

Come on, give our young guys more credit than that. That's why we draft smart young guys with good character. You don't need good character to be around other guys with good character to have big get togethers of guys who are just all awesome together. No, you need good character so you can know what is best for you, your career, your team, and your family no matter what anyone says, and if you see a bad influence, hopefully you can change them into correcting their ways.

Imagine Kane walks into the lockeroom and not only sees the Sedins and Burrows acting like true role models and gentlemen of the game, but the young guys like Horvat, Hutton, and Virtanen too. I think that would have an impact on him. But we'll see what Benning thinks. I just can't stand this idea, "Don't let the big bad boogieman near our 20-21 year old athletes. He might turn them into slackers and ruin their careers." It's all soooo blown out of proportion.
