Do Canadians call their mothers "mom" or "mum"?

@chon derryWe were too busy profiting off of WW2 to enter it too early! It pulled our butts out of a decade long Great Depression. Countries were still paying us back decades later for the supplies that we sent to them on good faith credit.
Canada was still nearly fully under the monarchy's skirts back then so you had very little choice but to fight when the UK called. Canada didn't become fully independent until the 80's. Even now, I use the term "fully" loosely since you are still stuck with a Governor General who pretty much still has to rubber stamp just about everything that goes through the Canadian parliament.

@SabreFan1 growing up in the 60s it was much simpler than that, it wasn't as political as anything you described ,i was describing post ww2 childhood mindset, if you had german descent that's the last thing you would have admitted to , I do remember paying more attention to what was happening in England with the physcodelic thinghy ,the music , clothing ,England seemed to be all the rage, whereas USA was in an unpopular war, but hey there was appolo missions thingy

I know. But I was trying to explain why some clowns on here spell like Americans. I don't have that problem.
I do have problems with my phone auto-updating keyboard and deleting spelling preferences.
