Change of scenery is always a good thing, if it comes to living, new job or even meeting new friends.  

Don't be afraid of expensive cities because chances are that you'll be able to make more money in those cities as well.  If you were to come to Vancouver, your job prospects would be pretty stellar.  

What cities are you considering or do you just mainly want to get out of the one that you're in right now?

I have been looking at Vegas (I actually really liked the suburbs just outside the city when I was there) or San Jose. San Jo is only ~2h from where I'm at now, so not a huge jump. My biggest fear with that region is the price.

yes, 1) because we love them, and 2) cleanliness is a mythical cultural concept, if you got dogs, you dirty. 

Best job I ever had was working in a 7-Eleven.  I got free Slurpies, which made me happy.  

I would get so much more accomplished if they paid me a salary but they don't so I am chatting on company time.

I'm on salary, too, but my boss is usually pretty good at giving us a day off here and there to make up for the extra hours worked.

This is a fanbase that has loved players like Lapierre, Burrows, Torres, Kesler, and Ruutuu. Those guys were far worse that Roussel.

I didn't like him to start, then started to like him, but am not a fan of his recent antics. He draws penalties which is great, but he's taking way too many minors right now as well. He reminds me of a young Burrows. Burrows had 179 PIM early on in his career during one season and had to teach himself not to take pointless penalties. Roussel hasn't learned that yet it seems. I'd love it if he and Burrows could have a chat about the role of agitator in the NHL.

the losing can become a mental issue for the players though

Silver linings... It's not as much fun right now, but in the long run, this is a good thing.

We have some nice young players/prospects, but we need more. We need not just enough to build a future team, but extras to have trade chips when the time comes. Holding on to veterans like Edler and MDZ at the trade deadline in order to chase a playoff spot will be an opportunity missed. Getting a higher pick at the draft will only help - and finally winning the lottery would be a coup.

Also, if you are truly surprised that players like Edler, Sutter, and Tanev have been injured, then that is shame on you. They are older, injury-prone players, and every year that is certainly not something that will improve. This latest round should once and for all prove that it's time to cut bait with some of these guys, even if they don't carry the value they once did.

Another possible plus here is Boeser being slowed down by injury a bit now should make his next contract more affordable. Saving $$$ on him long-term could really help when we're ready to contend.

The 80's and early 90's were harder to take in all honesty.

Winnipeg for example - 5 player games lost to injury. 5. I'm jealous over that stat.

@Green Building Good God.  What happened to you people's sense of humour?  I've trolled much harder than this and gotten zero whining about it in the past.

They ended up closing mt workplace for the duration of this week as well :-( We're expecting some rains starting Wednesday that should help with the flames, but the depleted landscape may give rise to mudslides and flooding.

All joking aside, that sucks.  Two weeks of no work or pay...  I'm sure you work with people who live paycheque to paycheque.  This is going to hurt them bad.
