I think the biggest reason I come to CDC is I miss the locker room.  It was great knowing your teammates had your back.  To me CDC is (kind of) like that.  When one of us is troubled, there are always your mates there to pick you up.  Your mates have your back.

If young people want change..... young people have to get off their butts and make it happen.....  Participate and make change happen.  Be part of the solution.

It took me a full month of daily research of the issues before I felt comfortable completing my vote by mail ballot and turning it in. I can't believe we let 18 year olds do this :P

  5. I wouldn't say you're off base at all. It's a real shame, because you and that other gentleman are both victims here because of your father's actions. I can see why he might desperately want to be in contact with you, but at the same time if you've already told him no several times then the onus is on him as an adult now to find ways to move on (therapy, etc.). You don't owe anyone your time or company because they're "family". You have to look out for yourself.
  6. What is something you currently feel happy/fortunate/grateful for? Let's spread some positivity.

Leafs keep losing, and are not scoring.  The pitchforks are coming out for Babcock.  Yes, these things I celebrate!!!!!

Even through these busy hectic times, the parts of the day I get to spend with my wife and 2 sons.

  7. Being single after being in a serious relationship for most of my adult life is so weird. I now have the freedom to do all types of things just because I want to. I can go to bed early and sleep all day or procrastinate on chores for days without worrying about someone's opinion I'm being lazy. I can stay home all the time and am not forced to go out due to a sense of obligation. I can move to a new city, get a new job, stop trying to drive and just use public transit instead without thinking about how those decisions affect my partner. I can be honest about my mental health issues without feeling like I'm letting them down (or without caring if I'm letting them down). I am not used to this.

  9. Headed to DC next week, flashback to me rocking the rainbow early in the summer during playoffs. The Capitals made a great Pride shirt.
  10. Have you ever gone to a hockey game alone? Would you?

I'm kinda stuck and wondering if I should even bother.

As an introvert, I think I'd enjoy it, but it definitely wouldn't be the same as going with close friends.

That said, I'd rather go by myself than with some people I don't know that well.

    3. NewbieCanuckFan

      NewbieCanuckFan

Alf NEVER goes to a game alone as he sneaks a cat into the game.  He shoves in\t down the front of his pants knowing they won't search him THERE.  Good thing that Malmacians have their 'special purpose' elsewhere in their body.  Alf refuses to buy food at the game as he told me humans are such barbarians....eating dogs (hot dogs)!

faded a bit as the game went on

      (but faceoff percentage improved)

he needs some practice and game time

to get back to where he was

Oh come on TS, the first two periods were OK.

Wheels came right off in the third though. Inexperienced D got worked over by some of the best lines in the game.

@Cramarossa , Pettersson played well. He sees the ice differently than anyone in the league right now, every shift he does something unexpected and beautiful.

I think TG is an awesome coach, but I didn't like putting Boeser on EP's RW. I'd like to see a fast, hard forechecker out there causing $&!#, creating a bit of chaos for EP and Goldy to exploit. If it were up to me, Motte or Virtanen would get a look there.

Yeah, Fanatics I think.  It's on the "Shop" part at the top of this site.  It's actually in a warehouse 20min away, so hopefully tomorrow.

I followed X too and I have a completely different perception of him. He was a bad dude. Broken? Yes. But that doesn't excuse anything. It doesn't mean he deserved to die either. Unless it was confirmed fabricated, he had a history of sexual assault threats. He asked a girl to pick which cooking instrument he would shove inside of her, including a barbecue fork or scraper or something like that.

There was also some question as to whether or not he actually donated to the charities that were claimed, but I digress. I don't support abusive humans, or I do my best not to. Unfortunately, his life was taken from he before he truly got to turn it around. I still can't support that sort of thing, morally, though.

I can overlook the changes, because personally, it's not enough to outweigh the garbage things he did. That's me though, and I'm not saying that anyone else has to feel similarly. But to me, it feels little different than making an excuse for 6ix9ine or R. Kelly (though the latter is arguably significantly worse).

@Chip Kelly Juicewrld just played on Pandora for me tonight! Emo rap is totally my aesthetic.

  15. In response to basically everyone: I am focusing on me, but some companionship would be nice. For the record, ex-bf and I broke up almost three months ago...it's not like we broke up this week and I'm already anxious to latch on to someone else. Just some company would be nice. Finances are tight (just moved and only have six month lease so I need save up for the next one) and I don't have a car. These two things make it so hard to try new activities right now, but I'm trying. I'm also trying to get back into therapy...mental health care with my insurance is terrible though.

  17. Well I'm not really trying to jump into a relationship, but I've never really "dated" and feel like it would be nice to meet and go out with a couple guys. I kinda am feeling my age (28) a bit, I look around me and it seems like everyone else is married with kids...I'm single with cats ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  18. I am single for the first time in almost seven years, and have absolutely zero clue how to handle it. I want to "get out there" and meet people, but really don't know what that looks like. I am really anti-online dating (I'd feel embarassed tbh introducing an SO to people in my life having to say we met on the internet). I also work at a college and would be mortified for my students to see my profile (let alone match me!!) on Tinder, Bumble, etc. I've got very few friends, and the ones I do have are significantly older than me. Not sure a set up would work. I am shy and insecure. I am sensitive and in recent years get my feelings hurt by the opposite sex very easily. But I dont want to be alone forever. I don't know what to do.
  19. Just bought my EP40 jersey

I think Granlund's kinda hard to replace. He's cheap, servicable and he's killer on the PK. Plus, he may have some untapped offensive potential. The only thing bad things about him are that he doesn't generate too much offense right now and his faceoff numbers need a little work. But he seems like a good teammate and person.

Y'all already know I think he's a huge asset to the team. I just hope management feels the same way.

I do have a Granlund shirsey, plus all his gameworn jerseys from when he played for the local American League team. I've got a gameworn Canucks jersey of his to boot!

@Jimmy McGill There is a tattoo thread somewhere in white noises. Haven't seen it resurface in a while though.

Usually, if you explain the design to the artist, He/she will design it and show you the drawing before any art work is started. You can always ask them to tweak the drawing too, until you're satisfied. Curious, what your idea is.

Heard somewhere, that when it comes to getting tattooed, girls are tougher than guys.
