Who is your all time favorite Canuck? (Poll/Discussion)

Diduck was was beast. I was thrilled when they got him. -
It’s better discussion than what’s currently offered in these sleepy boards. The OP admitted as much. The witch hunts of the past drove away much of the diversity (or adversity?) that made this forum an interesting read at times. Now we’re just left with a petting zoo. In 21+ years, I’ve never seen the forum so uninteresting or blasé to the point of having to manufacture discussion threads or topics, as was the case here. So, I don’t mind the thread premise, despite agreeing with your answer, which is pretty much an /thread response.

Vintage Luongo was an Art form, except for those puckhandling misadventures he often went on. Pretty tough to compare goalies against prime Luongo.

Interesting to observe how TD adapts to Carlson on the point. QH’s offensive zone dangling might come to a swift end at the hands of some very strong Washington players. It’s only a matter of time until they tag team him to finish the check or just put their stick on him and send him for a ride. I worry for the kid, but I did for EP too, but the slippery little buggar proved me wrong. This is a Horvat-type game. I suspect we will see some Horvat hockey to remember. -
Global Student Strike for Climate Change

Can someone explain how taxing my Canadian income to improve climate change will be an effective policy to prevent the pending global glaciation period, which is ultimately the goal here, in case you were unaware. I am open to discussing policy and the logic behind it. -

We could ice a way better lineup than the one we run now

Welcome to CDC. Thick skin and Homerism is mandatory. Critical thought not required. After 21+ years of membership here and observing this site, here’s what I can tell you: If you invite posters into your thread, expect to be made sport of, unless you’re plus mining the forum with Pom Pom-spam threads, perhaps nostalgic or petting threads. On that note, currently the boards are pretty boring with next to nothing interesting as far as threads go. I don’t think it’s ever been this dry here for content. -

I’m sure we’re all expecting an early season 1/4 pole trade at some point. Speaking of which, both Sutter and Tanev are healthy and currently productive. If there ever was a time to make a trade, especially for Mr. Balls, its possibly now. Pretty tough to trade Tanev, now, since JB bought a team that isn’t necessarily playing for tomorrow anymore. LE and Baer could get something, Goldy, not so much, but there’s a reason they are where they are right now. I’m looking forward to understanding the logic there once a few moves are made, or is it as simple as injuries? I like the roster the way it is. They could be tougher on the back end, but whatever. As as long as Marky is playing this well, the team can compete. I think it might get a bit bumpy if Marky goes down and TD is just average. -

Lol Nintendo version-hockey. We have a greatly improved battle level and safe work environment on the roster now and you want to go back to sissy hockey. No thanks.- 115 replies

So? And? This is new or news in politics? Its &^@#ing politics! Nothing about the spirit of politics is ethical or safe, new or sacred. Why the surprise? What goes on behind the scenes all the way through these “campaigns” is a greasy affair, coincidentally that’s a play on words for why several people have had to step down from any race; dragging skeletons from the closet behind you in front of the public slow you down in a race. People with skeletons in the closet are a liability and fair game, fit for rival exposure. Happens all the time, everywhere, everyday. Many good candidates can’t go far in politics because they have some kind of badness hiding in the closet. Depending upon how powerful you are, you can make stories and even people go away, but not for most of us, or these politicians. This kinda crap has been going on behind the scenes at every level of every democratic process since forever, so what’s with the feigning of surprise here, or even interest? Hate-facts.

Lol I actually couldn’t stand that song and much of that album. I think my fav is, When The Weight Comes Down. Maybe, Looking For A Place To Happen. Nautical Disaster is a hauntingly brilliant song as well. -

Gord was right: Past screamin' from the rooftops We live to survive our paradoxes We live to survive our paradoxes We live to survive our paradoxes Thanks for the music, Gord. It helped get me through some very rough patches in my life.
