  1. Traded the wrong 1st rounder in that trade. Jake should have been traded.
  2. Why did he shoot? 22 seconds of nearly impossible to see of footage. What a job the cops have. Would you walk up to that window asking questions? Pretty tall task. Its strange that he had already drawn his gun, but what did he see/think he saw that would cause him to fire? I’m glad I’m not a cop doing house calls to dark homes in the dark.
  3. His return, exactly. If he were a Canuck, we’d expect the moon in trade, as will Buffalo fans. The kid is a great offensive Dman and getting better. His return will be first line forward-good.
  4. Finally, it’s here. Time to see what we have in TD. Since he is currently one of our best trade chips, I really hope he comes through and becomes the as-billed goalie-of-the-future he was drafted to be. If not, his stock plummets and we lose that trade value. I’ve put him up for a trade proposal before for Evan Bouchard. A package to get EB and Poolparty would be pretty sweet.
  5. What do we have that Buffalo needs and that isn’t our core pieces? Jake? He’s next to redundant. Guad? Another complimentary project-type player where they have some depth already. Our Dmen are all worse than their Risto. I think it would have to a be picks and a POD, or a BB. Possibly they’d do Marky, but that’s too much to work out from here. Risto is a pipe dream for the Canucks, unless they sell the farm, quite literally, IMO.
  6. Didn’t like him then, but love him as an analysts or whatever he is on TV.
  7. Nobody wanted to trade Horvat for Brady Tkachuk, so no,
  8. Bet you a hundred bucks we do lose to Detroit. Any takers? Bunch of sissies...
  9. Canucks usually get destroyed by the league’s worst and then come alive to take down its very best, that’s just Canucks Hockey. It’s more consistent than anything else this franchise does, IMO. Get used to it and save your Star-bucks and spend it here...
  10. He’s a beaut. He has no real weak spots either. His game looks fairly complete, but what do i know, I’m not a goalie. Hurry up, TD. If you can take his spot we will have one heck of a trade chip to continue the rebuild with, but I’m fine either way.
  11. Ring of Honour.. Honour... You’d think the task of the title would be self explanatory, criteria-wise.
  12. Yes, here’s another low-achievement achievement/criteria bar... Although he was a 1st AO pick who played all of his ~1300 NHL games with one franchise and had some memorable playoff moments, mostly good, other than a GWG-own goal in the SCF against Manaheim, I think. Not here to argue the merit of Phillips’ number being retired, just our team’s penchant for celebrating what I perceive as mediocrity, in some instances. Bertuzzi was Lindros-like for a very brief few seasons and then became the biggest floater this team ever had. His ability to be offside every shift became infamous, for those who remember the other Bertuzzi, which lasted and lasted until he became Luongo. Best trade ever. (FTR, like all of us, I absolutely loved Bert when he was dominant. Best power hockey we ever saw here, for certain) Smyl, Linden, even Harold gave their 100% their entire careers here. Zero percent of people will say that about Bertuzzi. (I’m not even going to get into his game going into the toilet, or his infamous rages, at the same time as testing came into play for international hockey and how he suddenly dropped 20lbs and became almost lethargic out there, but one can connect the dots) Going back to my first and only point to be made in this thread, I perceive that the Canucks’ ROH, let alone their rafters, have an exceedingly low bar and thus the celebrating of Bertuzzi would continue make my case for me. So for the sake of the spirit of such recognition, and in the name hockey-immortality, I would like to see the Canucks hold the bar a little higher than what his career amounted to here, though I understand it’s not a popular position; who doesn’t want a nostalgic parade like we saw the other night?! I get it, but I don’t like it because it takes away from the spirit of why the NHL started doing this way back in the day. While rival clubs have legends in their rafters, we have Smyl, etc. Don’t mistake this comment for any slant against Smyl, he was pure heart and my kind of hockey player, but he was a career grinder, not much more. Again, quite the bar for retiring a number. I know we are talking ROH here, but that ring will look like a stretched-out Slinky Toy one day soon if the popularity-voting continues, taking away from it all. All of this post being an opinion and a personal preference of course and just one vote. Bertuzzi’s bad, the average and then the utter floating outweighs the good, IMO. Not a career worth placing next to Orland’s.
  13. And since we spoke he’s continued to be terrible, so... I’m stepping around this disaster of a night... he’s on his own!
  14. Not defending anyone. More of intentionally ensuring that the thread understands it needs a whipping boy or bust in each game thread, or so it seems. I could care less if JL ever played another game here, personally, but I’d not be looking to send him to Utica, like I’d originally responded to/against. There’s several serviceable whipping boys on this roster still. No need to settle on JV just yet, IMO.
  15. It’s starting to look like they are finding chemistry and our D has been excellent, Marky also. BB is hauling ace out there. The 4th line means business. Firkland is still chasing.
  16. Today Levino, tomorrow it will be TS or LE again. There always has to be one whipping boy I guess.
  17. I think his point was, that it is what gets brought up, period. Not whether it should or not. Probably like Captain Underpants will learn one day soon.
  18. Naslund should listen to Don Cherry. Look at him reach for that puck... no $&!# you get your bell ring doing that. I’d have cranked him too.
